We booked a cabin for our son and his coworker (who work in our family business) as they are working in the area. They had to move cabins a couple times and the third cabin they got was absolutely atrocious. Apparently they have 2 nice cabins on the property and the others are like this. They are extremely outdated but on top of that the cabin had a horrible smell, grease splatters all over the kitchen, cobwebs everywhere and a couch that the guys were scared to sit on without covering. The fridge was turned off and water had soaked the floor. If you book a cabin and leave like we did, they will charge your card for the whole amount. I'm sure the fishing is great but BEWARE of the accommodations.

My son learned about Viking Lodge and the Cranberry Lakes by following pro fisherman, Jay Siemens. I also started following and watching his videos before I decided Viking Lodge would be the next fishing adventure we'd try as a family. To start with, we were very pleased with our stay! Paul and his family are awesome hosts. Accommodations, service, staff, prices and the fishing were excellent! Quality of the fishery is top notch. We fish some amazing walleye lakes where we're from, but the Cranberry Lakes are next level. Many fly in lodges don't stack up to the overall quality and beauty of this fishery! Thanks Paul and family for making our stay an awesome one! We'll be booking again soon!

Updated 2023: My boyfriend and I still come here every summer for awesome walleye and trout fishing. The lodge has everything we need and the family that runs it is still friendlier than ever. I thoroughly enjoy coming here and can't imagine missing out on our annual trip here. Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed:)
