Good service. Food was ok I was happy with my burger but my partners burger had to much mayo. Will be back again all and all decent experience.

Very friendly women work here. I love the prices. Don't go to Johnny g's. You'll be paying an arm in a lag for a fat boy which is much better here at VJ's. Thanks again ladies!

I was disappointed. Haven’t been at VJ’s in a while and won’t be back. Burgers used to ooze with chilli, not this time. Huge amount of fries for a person. 43 bucks later for a double special and double dog with small shake I was no happy. I don’t know what changed but place ain’t what it used to be. And no, I didn’t expect anything I haven’t seen before. Sorry

We dined in in their outdoor picnic tables we were craving a small diner burger, homemade fries and shake. Did not disappoint. Small menu and no fuss tables made it fast and easy.

Will not be coming back. Customer service was horrible, they put onions on my burger when I specifically asked for just chilli and mustard, then rolled their eyes when i told them to change it. Burger Buns were gross and falling apart. Outside picnic tables were filthy.

After sub-par experiences at other burger joints in the last couple of days, I came back for a fatboy/VJs special as I knew them to be the real deal. Sure enough, it didn't disappoint.

Like always, the service inside was great, and the ladies inside took the time to joke around and have a good time with their patrons. It can be a busy place, but again, the service is always top.

The quality of food is great for the price you pay and the fries are probably the best in the city. The same goes for their shakes. The special is how fatboys should always be made.

There's a reason this is usually my 'go-to' spot for a fat boy and why I keep coming back. This place is a Winnipeg treasure.

Having some sun umbrellas at the tables would make this place even better than it already is.

My favourite spot to eat in Winnipeg. It hasn’t changed at all over the years, which is perfect. Friendly staff, quick service, and excellent food. Recommended to friends and family.

Best hot dogs and fries, great service. My favorite it a bacon chill dog, now I've have to go get one lol.

Not as good as I remember it to be back in the 70's. Still quote good, had the double chesse burger and fries.
The fries ROCK!

Good fries and likely cooked in beef tallow not canola oil (canola oil is likely a contributor to an inflammatory process). The only fries we've eaten in Winnipeg for close 40 years and, yes, I'm pear-shaped but loving it! If you have the chance have a chat with the owners as they're always interesting to chat with if it's not too busy which is most of the time. Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy your fries, hamburgers and shakes.

It's pretty good, but I wish they would just friggin write down our orders. It's a pain getting something on your burger you didnt want.

Giving 5 stars anyway because they're food is exactly how a drive in should be.

A true Winnipeg landmark, with the best fries in the world! And killer pickles. I prefer the hotdogs to their burgers thou. Unfortunately my burger was over cooked (dry & a little black) but have to love this place!

Alas, I have finally scratched a 20 year itch!

I finally got some of the most memorable burgers I've known in me and the wait was so worth it.

Let me tell you, I entered this establishment with my long time friend, wifey and her copy and paste. Ordered up myself a whole mess of food and with full intentions of entering a food coma, downed a double VJ special and a single VJ special WITH fries and a drink. Near super hero level appetite I tell you.

The food was as I remembered it and STILL utterly addictive. Keep up the good work and continue to kill it, this iconic spot will NOT disappoint!

VJ, s double. It is fantastic, And the fries are a dream. They accept cash and debit payments. No credit card payment. The hamburger is delicious, but its fries are terrific.

VJ’s burgers and hotdogs are a great treat anytime but specially on weekends. We skipped the fries but were filled up with the sandwiches.
It’s always a wonderful experience eating the sandwiches as it can be messy at times.
But nothing much is better than eating messy food while watching TV in the comforts of our home.

What a long time favourite. Their fries used to be my absolute all time favourites. Great milkshakes. A few years ago I noticed I wasn’t as taken with the fries anymore. I speculated that as with many if not most places they’d changed to a perceived healthier oil for frying. Don’t know.
If you’re looking for my current favourites, Fergies Fish and Chips at the Forks and Santa Lucia! I know hard to imagine but it’s true.
If you are/were a fan of the Mrs Mike or Dairi Whip type fries you won’t be impressed.

Love the big burgers, they have always been dependably good and we have been going there for years. This time the burgers were dry/overdone and very super salty. Will still go back because this hasn't happened before. Only takeout at VJ's, debit and cash.

It was my first time visiting VJ's, and I'll tell you right now, it won't be my last.
I took my 15-year-old and 10-year-old sons there for a burger and fries. I had always heard good things about this place, and they did not disappoint. The burgers were amazing, and the fries were delicious. The ladies behind the counter where a pleasure to deal with and very friendly. We left there with smiles on her faces and full bellies.
This will definitely be a regular stop for us from now on.

Not the same anymore.had the double and tasted horrible.and the milkshake tasted sour! New owners?
