Great old school barbershop with an awesome vibe, very reasonable prices, good banter and overall just a great experience. Adam did a great job! Highly recommended!

Good stuff. Only recommendation is to require clients to pay ahead, especially since we have to book ahead anyway. Just a thought.

Neil is awkward, unreceptive and unprofessional. He also does the WORST fades I’ve ever had in my life. He’ll also tell You how you want your hair to look, rather than listen to how you want your hair to look. I wanted a fade with the hairline at the back of the neck, rounded. His response was “people always want fades but then want a distinct line at the back, which basically defeats the point of a ‘fade’”. And proceeded to NOT round my hairline as I requested. Umm, buddy, if I want a distinct line, that’s what I’m paying you for. But the real coup de gracé was on another occasion when he texted me half an hour before my haircut appointment to tell me he was sick and wouldn’t be in that day. I didn’t look at the text initially and arrived for my appointment, to see him standing in the Barbershop. When he saw me, he bolted out of the room like he saw a ghost. Obviously I was quite confused, and he Didn’t acknowledge me and waited until I left before responding to my texts. Wasted my time, made me travel for no reason, didn’t provide me a haircut for a pre-booked appointment, nor did he even attempt to see if another barber at the shop could accommodate me. Leaving in the lurch for an event later that day. Horrible service, horrible barber. Overall, this place is overhyped and not up to par with todays standard of style & service.

I have been getting my hair cut by Lewis for a couple of years now. Professional, friendly, knowledgeable. He is good at what he does and is passionate about his work. The other barbers, while I don't interact with them often are also friendly and I enjoy some of the open room cross talk/banter that occurs. A very welcoming place. The shop itself is really cool and definitely has a old timey nostalgic barber shop vibe.

Not worth the hype.

After reading countless positive reviews I thought I'd give it a try.

Over 15 minutes late so what's the point of appointments? Especially for a place called "waltz on in"
Turn you away from the mirror so you can't see what they're doing to your hair.
Spend half their time just brushing the top of my hair, it shouldn't take 45 minutes for a simple cut.
Same 3 questions over and over, I'm here for a cut not a chat.
You get to see at the end. Surprise, your 7 year old niece could have done better.
Didn't even offer any product at the end.

For nearly $40 I expected better, but they can expect I won't be back.

Great barber shop, period. Had my first great haircut in Winnipeg in a long while. Easy online booking, great old school (and legitimately vintage) vibe on the inside. Staff was very friendly. Would definitely recommend. UPDATE: Still offering great cuts as of Jan 2023.

Sporting a thick often overgrown beard, A few years back I decided to go and investigate claims of a “master beard groomer” at Waltz On In. Hugh is the man for the job. Appreciate the sarcastic wit and old school atmosphere. I always leave looking a little more sane than when I went in!

Always fantastic, my 12 year old son is always thrilled to go not just for the hair cut but for the whole experience!

Although the name is "Waltz On In", I did not have any luck with a walk-in. It was pretty busy. I booked an appointment for a couple days later and got a cut from Lewis. Great work, sharp haircut, and good conversation.

Brought my teenage son in for a fade cut to blend with his long hair hockey flow on top with a shorter cut at the back and sides. Unfortunately, Lewis cut his long hair off and left him with a very regrettable decision to come here today. Hope the weeks for grow back happen quickly because he will be wearing a hat until then.

While visiting Winnipeg I went in for a beard trim. The guys there are great. Friendly, funny, and skilled. The definitely make you feel like a valued customer. "Woody" did a great job! Highly recommended.

It was my first haircut today with Waltz On In. I was hesitant prior to the appointment given I previously had the same hairdresser for over a decade. The second I walked in the door, I was welcomed by the guys, and felt the positive vibes of a classic, old-school barber shop. Walter was a really chill dude and gave me the cleanest haircut of my life. Great energy, welcoming environment, professional, and reasonably priced. Best barber shop in town, full stop. I've shopped around for years to find a good barber, and after a lot of poor and mixed results at other places, have finally settled at Waltz. Hugh (and all the staff from what I've seen) does a fantastic job. Atmosphere is very relaxed and unpretentious. Love it here.

I have had my hair cut by Adam, Walter, Lewis and Jasmine. All of them do an excellent job. But I think what they do best is provide a warm, welcoming and fun environment for their patrons. I would recommend this barber shop to anyone and strongly encourage people to support them after this Covid-19 lockdown is over.

This is my second time here with Lewis as my Barber. 1st experience haircut only was fantastic! The guy knows what he’s doing and he listens to what you want/like. Today’s visit was haircut and beard. I am very, VERY particular about my beard. After my haircut we stopped and I told Lewis what I like and how I want my beard to look. He freakin’ nailed it! I’m stoked to have found a Barber that listens and definitely has talent. I’m not dissing the rest of the gang there. This is my experience with Lewis. The shop itself is cool as f.k! They are all great to talk to. No awkwardness at all walking in. This is a barber shop. As a very picky man about my hair and mostly my beard.this is the place to want to go to.

I've been coming to see Walt for years and he always does an excellent job cutting my hair or giving me barberly advice. Over the years, he's always been consistent which is hugely important to me. I've also visited the other gentlemen and they're just as good. If you're looking for a barber to cut weird designs on your head and have your picture on IG, this probably isn't the shop for you, but that's exactly why I keep coming back. Check them out if you haven't already!

Had a beard trim with Walt. Things started really poorly with one of the barbers expressing his displeasure for the song "Africa" by Toto. We worked past it and what
Walt did with my beard was pure magic. It was my first visit and I loved it. The atmosphere is amazing. The shop is awesome. The employees are friendly and personable. Overall a great experience. Will be back. Highly recommend.

I have brought my partner here for a hot shave on two separate occasions for some pampering. The staff were very friendly, professional and were nice enough to watch over his guide dog while I stepped out. My partner enjoyed the pampering and said he was very relaxed and it said it's something all men need to experience at least once!

I called to ask if I can come for a walk-in, the guy who picked the up the call said to come over they will get me in. I drove 18 mins to the store and when I went inside and told them i’m here for the walk-in, the guy said that they’re fully booked for the night and they can’t do a walk-in! I told him that I called and I was being told that there is a spot and thats why I drove 18 mins to the store. They were acting weird and kept throwing it on each other. Anyways I left this place and never coming back again!

As soon as you step into the doors at Waltz on in, it takes you back to the 50-60's era, nostalgic and comfy and feels like home. Even though I only get buzz cuts, Adam J gives great beard trims and does a fantastic job every time I go. Its a fine group of folk who work there.

Great atmosphere, a quality and genuine barbershop. Also located in a gem of a spot on Sherbrooke. Have been visiting Hugh for my last few beard trims and no one has come close in Winnipeg, the way Hugh is able to shape and trim a beard.

Walter was amicable and did a good job trimming my beard. I'm picky so I appreciate a good and thorough job. The barber shop feels very comfortable and masculine. They have cultivated the quintessential barbershop vibe. Loved the experience and I will definitely be going back.
