What a joke the children that work (or should I say that are there) can not answer a simple question without looking at the computer first for the right answer

My cat was really sick. They took him in, after me surrendering him and gave him the best care, I could imagine.

I would sincerely like to thank the staff in the intake dept at HS. They were so very kind, considerate, empathetic and compassionate. My son had to surrender his beloved Emotional Support Dog (Shepard) Mika due to severe illness and her level of pain along with her age (12) Extenuating financial hardship didn't allow him to be able to take her to a private vet. This was an excruciating experience for us both and the staff we dealt with were amazing and helped to make things possible for us and a little less stressful. Thank you so much for your support in our time of difficulty. Your sincerity and empathy didn't go unnoticed. God bless you a for the incredible work you do there. The recent pictures I have of her is when she had had a cancerous growth removed from her leg. See you over the rainbow bridge my girl. We miss you already

We have a dog that according to the humane society is 4 years. We thought she's probably actually 6 years. First visit at a vet outside the humane society, he thinks she's 9 years. That means you gave us a 7 year old dog pretending she was 2 years. That's a major discrepancy.

~1 year ago I adopted my man who was in rough shape after living on the streets for a couple years. The humane society did an incredible job rehabilitating him after sustaining multiple injuries that had become infected.

He now lives a life of abundance, comfort, and security; the sweetest, chattiest boy who has made our lives so much better! Thank you humane society for helping our guy!

I called to get a dog cause I feel bad they put them to sleep and she tells me the cheapest dogs they have is 700 and up so they would rather put them to sleep then sell for cheap I had 500 thought that was enough but nope 700 she says is the lowest

I love this shelter. Everyone is friendly and dedicated and the animals are well cared for.

I adopted a 4 1/2 month old orange, short hair, tabby kitty.she's a gift for my nephew who suffers from social anxiety stress, deeply depressed, hardly leaves the house. When he received the kitty he was so happy.at first. Then very nervous. But he's okay now, his parents have helped him.and so happily has the kitty who now has a loving home.

I can't express how great these guys are. I am always happy to donate money and in kind when i can to this organization.

Their foster program is so well laid out as well so if you are looking to and want to help, donate your time please don't hesitate.

Had an abandoned young feline we called in about. She had been living in a garbage room for at least a couple of weeks, living off scraps. Managed to get her into a kennel, but when we called to ask to drop her off, the person on the phone said they will not accept her, and told us to just set her loose (on the street i presume). I've taken her in for the night, but she is young, needs a vet check up, and i cannot keep her permanently. Maybe some publicity on your policies will have you review them, or at least notify the public about your "humane" treatment of animals in need.

Always helpful when I've needed my babies fixed or info, also have adopted 2 fur babies from here!

Quick and easy to adopt (little concerning how easy it is: They didn’t want to see my landlord letter or vaccination record for my other pet)

I had called a few times while trying to figure out which cat would fit just right, staff was always helpful and knowledgable about each cat in care that I was asking about. If they didn’t pick up the phone and I left a message I got a quick call back within 20min which was awesome.

Overall great work to everyone over there! I love Maurice (formally Yogi) with all my heart already.

The care to adopt program is amazing. They helped us after we saved a 2 week old kitten found on a farm road in st Andrews.

We adopted a beautiful cat from the Humane Society. Her name is Smudge. They practiced excellent social distancing processes while we were able to visit the different cats. Call ahead to make an appointment and everything will be safe for you and the employees.

I adopted my Akita mix in June 2004. She was about 4 months old and named Betty at the time. This was at the old location in Transcona/EK. Apparently, she was a stray found on the outskirts of steinbach.

My girl passed away this June 2020. She was 16.5 years old, and was the toughest, sassiest dog ever. Thank you WHS for connecting me with my special girl. She was loved every single day of her life.

Just over a year ago I adopted my cat from the Humane Society. I fell in love with her precious face on their website and got her as soon as I could. The adoption process was a breeze, quick and easy and super helpful people that work and volunteer there! A year later my baby girl is happy to have her furever home.

They are so loving and caring of animals big and small️ I appreciate they have an animal food bank to help when times are tough.

I brought in a mouse as one of the tenants left behind. The staff were very unpleasant to accept it but other than that its not bad at all.

Staff was knowledgeable, kind and great with the 6/7 years olds. Loved that I could just sit back and enjoy the kids. The staff fished out the food and cleaned up too!

If you love animals, these guys do a fantastic job adopting and helping with animal abuse. Awesome the work they do.

Johanne is a great and charming person who is always willing to provide information and help volunteers find the activity, they feel more comfortable with. She is very creative and has a very positive attitude.

Had my daughters 5th birthday party and it was a huge hit with the kiddos. The party room set up was so good. Everything was done for us. The staff was beyond amazing. Kids absolutely loved it! Kids raved about it for days!

Very beautiful and clean facility. The staff were welcoming and really seem to have positive relationships with the animals. We met our new fur baby there and adopted her. Wish there was another way to show thanks, appreciation, in memory of, etc for your pets? I spied tiles outside that were dedicated to animals, many were broken.

The WHS's Puppy Social is a great way to socialize your pup. The staff is excellent at managing the playtime to ensure it's safe and fun for all.

The clinic here does really excellent work. I had a cat spayed here and they did such a tiny and neat incision. The programs for strays and low income families are services that provide for the greater good of this community.

The Humane Society should be a first stop for Winnipeggers looking for a pet. They can’t turn animals away and do everything they can to avoid euthanasia in my experience, including their free cat days.

That being said, some of the vegan messaging and criticism of the meat industry on their Facebook and website is completely off brand and only serves to alienate people from their cause. They should also consider allowing families from outside of Winnipeg to adopt.

Staff were helpful and courteous. We took our cat there to be spayed and everything went very well. Happy to support them and grateful for all that they do at the Winnipeg Humane Society!

I found my best friend through WHS. A little black cat was featured at petland and no one wanted him and now I am the luckiest person alive. I wish I could visit this place but it would hurt my heart too much. I don't approve of the 'kill' shelter but I understand that some animals are too ill, too old, and overcrowding. I hope they at least shut down an animal without a reason.

Went to a Pet First Aid Course here, not only was the instructor very friendly and polite, he was also very good at educating. Learnt a lot more about my pet and how to care for them in emergencies and even day to day life. Class wasn't expensive or too long either, $75 for 4 hours (15 min or so break in the middle) and the price included a booklet with all the info we learnt in it (yours to keep). Thanks again Humane Society!

Very age-appropriate for our 10 year old's party. Kudos to Lynne and Catherine for their enthusiasm and patience. Beautiful facility and very apparent the animals are well cared for. Highly recommended and affordable.

They are always so nice there. I had to go there for a sad reason. I had to surrender my cat because I am moving to an apartment that doesn't accept animals and everyone else I knew had an animal or was in the same spot I was in. He found another home but I'll miss him.

Had a big lunp in my cats stomach after they spayed her, refused to pay them, the lump is still there

The staff was professional and patient. My 5 month old husky mix was a handful! My only concern was the drop off for animal sterilization. They tell you to bring your pet to the humane society but weren't specific exactly where? The humane society isn't open till 11am. They tell you to drop your pet off in between 8- 8: 30 am? Apparently at the veterinarian office? Not far from the other entrance but still confusing? Puppy is doing well.

Wish i cold give a zero took my dog to get neutered here 6 years ago just found out they only did half he then had to go back a few weeks ago to have the job finished what a joke

1st they till me that they can help me taking in my cat to put to sleep cuz i can't afford 400 to do at a vet i call back to see when and where i go then i get told that they can't take her in that i can find a vet to take my master card

If you pick up a cat off the street why can't you look at the tattoo or chip and return them home rather than take my cat 30 minutes drive from his front yard?

I've also put a paw scout and new city license tag on him. Not paying a fee again. There are no 3 legged "stray" cats how many idiots does it take to figure out hes chipped and tagged and clearly not injured.

Next time will be considered theft of my property (my cat) and I will seek legal counsel to sue you guys. Keep up the actual good work and stop money grabbing people cats from the better areas of town. Go to the north end you'll find 10 strays on every street. Quiet area in st vital doesnt need humane society picking up peoples pets for cash grabs.

Loved my experience.had cat spade and was really surprised at the above and beyond they did for me and my cat.not only did the spade her.they also licensed her with the city.tatooed her her and have her the shots required.as throw ins on top of her spading
i was at that moment thinking great extra to pay.and was estatic when she said the price quated.they are genuine and sincere in helping pets and owners alike.

Not to be trusted. Lie and tell you one thing then do different. All they care about is money and more money. I have donate stuff on the past but never again. They do not care about the welfare of the animal just money. They are very uncaring people. Beware of the humane society they are not what they try and appear to be. I gave one star because I could not give less. They deserve zero stars.

Affordable adoptions and veterinary services.they need to revamp picking up
Injured/feral animals when notified, they expect the public to do the capture/transporting for them!
