YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg - Downtown Branch

A really good place where everyone can do something useful for their health. One small request, there is very little chlorine in the pool in the morning and a lot in the evening.

I hadn't been back to the YMCA downtown in a while, it was nice to see that they had such a huge variety of workout Maxine's and tools.

A great facility and gym to work out in! Considering the space, the layout is terrific and the heritage of the building can be felt in the stone walls. Staff are super friendly!

Great space, lots of options, classes daily, can’t beat the price, especially having a pool, sauna and hot tub, it’s never crazy busy, staff are very friendly, I have been going here since 2010, it’s honestly the best gym for the price.

The gym is incredible, so much space and equipment also love the steam room afterwards! Sometimes the front desk people can be a bit rude when asked questions but hey somtimes they are nice!

Staff are very helpful. Place is clean and I like that its close to where I catch my bus because downtown is a bit scary at night when I leave.

Pool schedule changes without warning. Last week there was 3 days of Open Swim from 10 Am to noon. This week that's gone. Had I known this would happen I would not have gone to the considerable expense of renewing my membership. "Answer" - not everyone is a lane swimmer. Those folks don't want to share with paddlers. I just want to tread water for an hour. Also, lane swim hours are 6AM to 10AM. Not ready for a 2 mile walk to the pool at 6AM. And rec.swim 5-8 PM this week? Too late in the day for us old people who don't live next door.

I was visiting from out of town, always glad to discover different Y’s across Canada. This is one of my favourites. I liked the 2h free underground parking, nice bumper plates and barbells. Spacious gym.

Great equipment, clean, but some of the staff can be pretty abrasive and rude sometimes.
Free parking in portage place and underground bike rack is a bonus.

Good gym and friendly staff! Variety of equipment and weights kept pretty clean still for a old gym! Always something going on every day for fitness classes and a large running track, i love how the weights are separate from the machines.

More stars would have been given but because both pools are closed and have been for some time I can not.
