Yumi Katsu

Have you ever had a feeling when you have had something so good you try to search about how its made the best way and what to look for in a good dish of that kind and then you deep dive into knowledge and culture because of the dish? - this place is that, they do a few things and have kind of done it really well.

Like not to be cringe, but this place really made us go UwU and kawaiii.

I have no comparable milestone or anchor on which I can compare this to. But having had just katsu with my ramen and sushi places across I can say these are far superior. Don't be put off by the price because the quality and quantity justifies it all.

The pork katsu both their varieties taste succulent and decadent. So do their chicken katsu and ebby katsu. Their combination of sauces, rice and miso are very very comforting with the main dish and their sides of shaved cabbage and green onions salad served with a vinagrette dressing when combined with a lil chili oil and soy sauce will make for the best salad you will have. One of the few places I have had the wasabi didnt outrightly sting, but was sweet and then the kick.

This place is phenomenal. The only thing I had was I couldn't eat it right away. I had to bring it home and then re-heat which didn't take away from the taste, but getting something hot to eat right away is always satisfying and gratifying.would recommend.

Ordered many times, never disappoints. For someone with lighter taste, I also use their salad vinegar dressing as dipping sauce for pork katsu— they make the katsu even more refreshing! Reheat with air fryer for reheat and you’ll be amazed!

I recently discovered the best Japanese Katsu Ghost Kitchen in Winnipeg and I couldn't be happier! The katsu is cooked to perfection - the breading is crispy and the meat is juicy and tender. The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. The online ordering process is easy and the delivery was lightning fast. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious and authentic Japanese katsu. You won't be disappointed!

Best katsu in town. You can tell that all their ingredients are really high quality (from the shrimp and tenderloin to the breadcrumb). I really love that their pork katsu was so juicy and tender and not at all greasy, even the leftover we had on the next day was still crunchy outside and tender inside, like how did they do it!? Oh and their tartar sauce is also a must-try, one wasn't enough for me. Around 50$/2 person and we got 2 meals out of it. Totally worth it!

This was incredible! The katsu is decadent without being heavy or greasy and all the sauces were so tasty!

Tried out katsu for the first time and it did not disappoint. The chicken was very moist and crunchy. I would also highly recommend their Japanese curry sauce

Loved it! My bf ordered the Tenderloin Katsu and I had the Ebi Katsu. Both were delicious, reminded me of my trip to Japan. Excited to have a spot like this in Winnipeg!

Generous portions, the pork katsu were very tender and the sauce were tasty! Their ebi katsu with tartar sauce was super good too!

I enjoyed every single bite of the meal in YUMI Katsu. The Cheese katsu is absolute my favourite.

I tried tenderloin katsu before and it was really good. I just wanted to try different one today so ordered chicken katsu. Best chicken katsu ever! Chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked. So soft inside and works well with nice crispy panco.

I've never been able to go to Japan to try authentic Katsu. Lucky for me, Yumi Katsu opened up close to home. The Katsu exceeded all of my expectations. This was not just a meal, it was a transformative experience. The outside of the Katsu was perfectly breaded while the meat inside was delightfully tender. Accompanied by fresh white rice, shredded cabbage, wasabi, and a delicious salty and sweet Katsu sauce, this truly was the perfect combination.

And just when I thought it couldn't get any better, I took a bite of the ebi dipped in tartar sauce. You'll just have to see for yourself how good this is.

I highly recommend the mix Katsu if you want to try some of everything. You're not gonna find Katsu like this anywhere else in Winnipeg. I bet it would rival Katsu you'd find in Japan.
