Anchorage Provincial Park

Beautiful quiet park. I worked here this summer and hate to see it close up for winter. The sound of the waves on the beach is beautiful. A lot of people that come end up staying addition nights. They fall in love with the park and with Grand Manan Island.

Very nice campground but not a lot of privacy. It needs a few more trees. Besides that there is beautiful grass and very well maintained. Lots of cute bunnies running around. The bathrooms are very clean.

We had so much fun on our camping trip! Just a short walk down to the beautiful sandy beach and listening to the waves laying in the tent was incredible. Can’t wait to come back to the island again one-day soon.

Falling asleep to the ocean waves. Lovely clean campsite. Minutes walk to the beach. Bathrooms were clean and showers were hot. As an added bonus, there were lots of little bunnies hopping around the campground. Delightful!

Superlative camping!
Except for the open-field sites, most sites are large and private. Washrooms are older but clean and well maintained. Showers have plenty of hot water and good pressure. The campground is beautifully maintained. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Beach and trails easily accessible from campsite. And lots of bunnies! This place is a treasure!

J'imagine que suis mal tombé. Un terrain rempli de cigarettes sur le sol et des carcasses de homards partout. Et le meilleur étant des voisins en amont qui sont sur la beuverie, la musique, les engueulades d'alcoolos jusqu'à 3h du matin; debout à 6h30 le matin.
J'ai écourté mon séjours d'une journée sur Grand Manan, pour prendre le traversier. J'en avais assez. Le savoir vivre n'est pas donné à tout le monde.

Had an amazing time with family and friends visiting places on Grand Manan. Only thing i wasn't impressed with is a friend of ours had paid for a site, and a family with an rv took her spot. She ended up pitching her tent on our site. The people she dealt with in the office, didn't handle this situation properly.

Great campground! First of all the staff were super friendly and helpful and welcoming. And then there are the bunnies. This place is crawling with a wild population of domestic bunnies. Definitely make sure to bring some carrots or other vegetables if you want to make some friends. The tent sites themselves are pretty nice too (though I will say you should choose wisely if you want some seclusion) and there’s a path down to a nice beach which is great to walk along. Would definitely recommend staying here if you are coming to the island!

Absolutely love the Anchorage! I do not camp there but love to go to the trails watching the birds and wildlife, also spotted a shark in the water! Very peaceful setting with the freshwater pond on one side and the sea on the other! Beautiful!

I had a awesome long weekend stay at this campground bathrooms we're nice and clean staff was friendly there was bunnies around. And when sleeping could hear the sound of the waves. Definitely gonna be returning.

What a lovely place. Lots of nature trails and animals to see. The beach was very nice and clean. Loved seeing all the sites to see at this park. It’s definitely worth a visit. Make it one of your destinations in GRand Manan

Nice cozy park, clean, nice views, kids enjoyed the playground and playing with the bunnies. Ocean beach, and brackish (much warmer) beach access.

Très beau site pour le camping. Il y a moyen d'avoir un peu d'intimité dans les emplacements sans services (toilettes et douches à proximité). Très bien entretenu et calme. Parfait pour du camping en famille ou pour être tranquille. Il y a plein de petits lapins sauvages! Beau terrain de jeux pour les enfants avec filet de volley mais très peu d'activités sur l'île à part se promener. Étrangement, il n'y a très peu d'activités nautiques et pratiquement personnes sur les plages.

Beautiful campground. Nicely kept with breathtaking rugged beach for wildlife viewing and rock hounding. A few trails: the longest goes to Red Point which shows off the geological fault that runs through the island. Great spot for enjoying on site or setting off to the many places to explore. Also great is that it's all pretty much dog friendly!

Great Campground! So much wildlife. We saw atleast 3 bunnies hopping around. It was very quiet at night. No mosquitos at all. Like the kitchen hut but I could not figure out how to work the wood stove lol. Not all sites have power. We did but the post was very high up so we needed 2 extension cords to reach it. Well Maintaned.

Stayed here for 3 nights this week in one of the rustic huts. We've camped here before, as has our son and family. It's a nice campground with very clean, well spaced campsites, two large clean washrooms and an indoor shelter with wood cook stoves. Easy access to beach and trails, as well as two large "ponds" which are bird sanctuaries. We kayaked on one of these. Weather wasn't great this time so we were looking forward to the hut. It's basic with two single bunks and two double bunks. Not much space between top and bottom bunk, so a single depth air mattress is best. Big plus is the indoor table, especially in bad weather. Ceiling is very high and no source of heat or electricity. It was very cold on our first night. When sun does come out, they heat up +. There are two screened windows, so opening these helps. We had one behind the registration house. It was very private but no view of water and a bit of a distance from the bathrooms. However, there was a reasonably clean pit toilet right across from us. Shelter # 2 offers shade from trees and a firepit well removed from the hut. On our second rainy night, we discovered that the roof leaked! There was a taping attempt that had let go with all the wet. I mentioned this on check out to be told that they are waiting for a less busy time to repair the leak! This was shelter #1. There's also a solar powered light inside that doesn't work. So bring flashlights. Not sure that we'd rent one of these again.

One of the best campgrounds we’ve visit. An instant favourite. There are private wooded lots without power or if you prefer power and water there are flat open lots. Lots places to hike and a 5 min walk to the beach. We were even lucky enough to have a full moon the night we camped there.

Clean, quiet campground! Great for kids to run and bike around. So wonderful to wake up to the sound of birds and waves.
