Britt's Pub and Eatery Uptown

Nice restaurant. Service was slow waitress dropped menu and was gone. I had to ask again and again for things. Ordered the eggs Benedict: Large amount of hasbrowns which were tasty, the benedict; eggs were perfect, the hollandaise sauce barely covered the eggs and a very minimal amount and the local back bacon to which I was looking forward to trying was but a small sliver very thin and tiny. My friend had eggs and was a very small portion of scrambled eggs. The value was not there.

A great spot for a quick lunch. While no one in our visit was drinking alcohol that day, they appeared to have an extensive selection of beers. As a tourist, I liked seeing the options of some local fare on the menu and was very happy with the food we ordered. Recommend both the Chicken and Waffle Poutine and the Pickleback Chicken Sandwich.

The food was so good! The spinach dip was amazing, the cocktails were incredibly well crafted and the food in general was delicious. Super friendly staff topped it off

Food here is exceptional and the service on a busy night was also top notch. Our server, Emily, was awesome and friendly. Steak and ale pie was rich and delicious and the southern fried chicken was melt in your mouth good. I definitely recommend it for a good pint and some elevated pub fare.

I am a bit surprised. I went here, my sisters food had a random piece of bread that wasn’t sourdough bread as she ordered. I ordered eggs benedict, the Hollandise had no flavour, fries were dry and unflavoured. The egg wasn’t even runny.

The poutine was excellent as was the beer. If you're in town, definitely stop by and get some awesome food.

First poutine for a Texas boy. Adore it on multiple levels. Delicious sweet beers, great execution from the kitchen and bar and friendly staff. Ashley has expansive knowledge, great reccomends, and expert help navigating uptown St. John. We really enjoyed our brunching!

We were on a cruise and stopped in for local beer. We choose the beer flights! The beer was great and Paula was awesome! Definitely recommend!

The food here is fantastic. Service is over the top friendly. Had the Maritime Chower it was out of this world delicious. Worthy of a Michelin star!

When we saw the place, we thought it would be an authentic British Pub Style restaurant, we ordered fish and chips, and we were expecting it would be British style, but it was not, very disappointing- The staff was friendly and helpful. If we go again, we probably will try something different.

Food was great, service was good, wish there was more room for groups of 10 or more. Would go back for sure.

This is the perfect place for a couple of pints and a great meal. We went in the afternoon midweek so it was quiet but still had some atmosphere about it. Our server was very friendly and efficient, our meals were large and delicious. The pulled pork poutine was amazing.
We will definitely be returning.

Brits always provides a top notch experience. Drinks and food were delicious and even though it did take a little longer to get our food the service was very good and made the wait seem short!

Get the chicken and waffle poutine Britt's is a mainstay uptown restaurant that deserves their two successful Saint John locations. Their food changes just often enough while maintaining favorites for when you're making a comfort stop. They've recently added jackfruit options which is something I never would have tried otherwise. Can safely say I'll be back to Britt's many times.

Atmosphere was awesome! Waitress, even though she started only a week before, was great and served us like a pro. Food was delicious!

Just had a fabulous brunch at Britt’s! The service was wonderful, and the food was was even better. I highly suggest the Fish Cod Benedict!

While nothing is ever perfect, Britt’s definitely deserves a round up to 5 stars.

Steak and eggs - I never thought I’d ever pay $30 for a breakfast steak and eggs, but once I mentally committed to steak and eggs, the cheaper steak option being unavailable didn’t sway me. Kudos to the chef for cooking a thin cut of meat to a great temperature (very easy to over cook thin cuts). The eggs were perfectly cooked, the home fries were nice and crispy while soft on the inside, and the sourdough was toasted and buttered exceptionally well.

Bubbles and squeak - the lady ordered this one and adored it. I had a few bites and it reminded me of my childhood concoctions with leftover mashed potatoes and anything else I could in the fridge. Very hearty meal.

Wish we could have gone back for dinner, but had another spot eyed for that meal. The dinner menu looked awesome.

Not a great experience. It was a Monday night and I had read the amazing reviews. I was really looking forward to this experience. I was an individual diner, and asked to be seated on the patio. I was told there were no tables by one server, then another told me there was a table open and I was welcome to have it. I tried to order prosciutto-wrapped scallops - was told they were out. Tried to order the scallop risotto - only to be told that they were also out of this. Thought maybe they should tell customers upfront they are out of key menu items? Ended up ordering a half order of bbq chicken nachos. They came as plain pieces of chicken on some cheesy potatoes - nothing like the menu item described. Fortunately, my waitress noticed immediately and I guess the chefs quickly squirted some cold bbq sauce on it and some missing toppings. Were they mad I wanted to be sat on the patio? Certainly felt like it. In a city with so much good food, I was sad I wasted my choice to eat here. To be fair, the beet salad was great.

Arrived from Montreal on a late Sunday evening, and we were greeted by a friendly waitress. She answered any questions we had and offered recommendations.

We had the lobster roll and the fish n’chips. Delicious, and good portions too! The nachos are the best we’ve ever had honestly. To top it off, it is very affordable - from comfort foods such as poutine to seafood (oysters, fish n’chips, lobster, clams, etc.) ; this place is a must!

Fantastic place. Both myself (steak and egg breakfast) and my cousin (Mexican breakfast poutine) loved the food and the server (Robin) was lovely. The other staff were also engaged and pleasant. Overall a wonderful dining experience. Will definitely be back.

Came here for lunch recently and was excited given the positive reviews. However, the majority of the food was bad- the beef and vegetable soup tasted like what your grandma makes after she’s lost her tastebuds- and the service was worse. Would not return nor recommend

My spouse and I came down from Fredericton on July 4th, 2021 to take my 96 year old mother to lunch. We wanted to do something fun and different for my mom and decided to go to Britt's. I called ahead to ask about the easiest access we should use to assist my mom to the back patio. Both Carrie and Samatha were so kind and helpful. They both went above and beyond to ensure mom's safety entering and leaving the Pub. The lobster rolls were "the best", the service was excellent and we enjoyed a lovely lunch on the patio. Thanks so much to the wonderful staff. We can't wait to return with friends the next time we are in Saint John.

Amazing atmosphere, food and staff.

Had the wild boar poutine for poutine fest and just dayum. That flavor. Wife had the jerk chicken poutine and it was sublime.

Had a great meal with my lady there last week and the food was amazing. The staff were absolutely spectacular and kind. Great service and can't wait to go back.

Great place to eat uptown with good food and service, the only problem I have is when we went there during the afternoon and the music was so loud you could hardly talk to the person across from you. I an understand if this was after 6 pm but the middle of the day on a Sunday is a bit much.would likely keep out some of the older clientele.

Just an observation on how I would improve it.

Excellent Pub in the heart or uptown Saint John. We've visited multiple times and love the atmosphere, friendly staff and great local beer selection. Food is always good, for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The bar staff was amazing! They helped us navigate the menu and were spot on. Wish we lived closer as it would definitely be our go to place. We were only in St John for 2 days and went BOTH days.

These guys know all the steps of service needed to ensure great customer satisfaction. Food was on point, coffee (espresso not drip) was delicious. Ambiance was phenomenal, even with Covid safety.

Food was delicious as always. Our waiter Christopher was awful, we were ignored for the duration of our meal, I could have used another drink and tarter sauce. I didn't finish my fish. He seemed to be more concerned with socializing. NEVER again will I be back with service like that!

Food was above average but service although friendly was slow. Burger week was a busy night but should have staffed accordingly for a night when you were booked full with reservations. Will be back though for sure. Just an off night on the service timing and food wait.

So here we are sitting in a Canadian English Pub with a super Honey Wheat Beer, Doris had a wonderful Gurtzeimer Wine to compliment our awesome Panco Crusted Haddock Dinner with gravy. Finished it off with delightful Bread Pudding for desert while looking over the Bay of Fundy. Our server, Christopher, was attentive, courteous and friendly. Our bill came to $ 81 CAD and this was while we spent 3 months touring the lovely Country of Canada!

Service was on point even at 10pm. Steak was a perfect medium rare and even got hockey score updates from our server!

Nice place to spend time to have a bite to eat and some small chat with friends. Chattery atmosphere at times but can still hear ones at my table speaking. Not a quiet spot but yet not a loud one. Can be a problem for some to get to as on steep hill. Enjoyed it overall.

Excellent food nice settings though a bit crowded and loud. Better than typical pub food was served and the staff was friendly.

This is the best restaurant uptown. I’ve yet to have a disappointing meal there. Fish tacos are awesome and I still dream about the chocolate mousse cake. They also have a really nice beer selection and the servers are always friendly and helpful.

Service was great. Burger was good but dry. Got sauce on the side to put on and it was very tasty.

This visit, We were a large group for brunch and Trey nailed it. Everybody loved their food and the service was 10/10

Really nice ambiance with a small outdoor seating section, staff was very friendly and they had 5 dollar mimosas and Caesars. There was a pretty long wait for the food but it was delicious so I think it was worth it. Will definitely go back if I return to Saint John.

Everytime we go to Britts they never disappoint. Tonight was no different. It was chop chop week and everything was delicious. Great food, great service and great time.

The food was delicious. The service was professional and friendly. The music was a bit loud. Overall, a good first time dining experience.

Cool atmosphere, solid food and great service in an off the beaten path location in Saint John. Easily walkable if you’re staying uptown though. There seemed to be some kind of co-worker drama going on the night we were there which isn’t super professional but I assume doesn’t happen every night. Highly recommended.
