Budget Car Rental

Visited New Brunswick recently from Ontario and rented a car at the Moncton airport. I chose Budget because the lady sounded friendly. The experience was all very positive including the automobile and the price! We have rented many cars over the years and this was one of our best experiences! We will definitely use Budget again!

Absolutely shameful service from budget and the staff at this rental counter. We originally booked an infant car seat, but when we arrived apparently that wasn't listed as part of our booking (I see this already happened to someone else in the reviews). The car seat we were eventually offered was in very rough shape, and we had difficulties installing it. When we requested a new seat, we had to wait for one to be brought in from offsite. The next seat was disgusting (full of crumbs, fresh puke stains). How is it possible that this company can treat their customers with such disregard. Fine, your staff won't provide assistance to install car seats due to liability, but you can AT MINIMUM provide instructions of some kind. What an absolute joke. In the future I will avoid renting from budget AT ALL COSTS.

An hour late because of traffic and construction and I get charged an extra fee. Frustrating.

The line at the airport was extremely long and there was only 1 employee helping. When he helped he talked very fast and rushed through the rental policy and procedures. The car was clean and worked well. However, I return the car and get an email on the plane saying I will be charged upwards of $450 on top of what I was originally quoted. I have no idea where the additional charges are coming from since I was given unlimited mileage, the car was returned clean, full of fuel, and on time.

Prix concurrentiel, auto conforme à mes besoins, mais le personnel de Moncton, Nouveau-Brunswick, ne parle pas un mot de français. Pourtant, c'est la seule province officiellement bilingue au Canada. Ça fait mauvais effet pour les touristes francophones.

Like a scammer, charge base rate different to estimate, two days unlimited mileage with insurance over $700, all the fees double to estimate, recovery fee, surcharge, etc. I must never back. Hertz is much better than this scam company, no hidden fees and same as estimate.

Booked car seats for my young children 4 months in advance. These car seats were not available upon arrival and I was left stranded until I pressed for a solution, which took some time while my children were left confused, hungry, tired and upset after a lengthy travel day. Unacceptable.

I booked more than 2 weeks prior and picked vehicle up on June 17. Budget had informed me at least four times, a malibu or equivalent. Our trip required a drive from Moncton to Miramichi and Halifax. On arrival all they had was a Hyundai venue. Car and driver describes this vehicle as good for city errands. Only one medium sized luggage fits in luggage area, the second takes up back seat. The vehicle was a disaster for what we required but we had to use it as nothing else was available. I would want the manager fired as saying a malibu or equivalent would be available is intellectually dishonest. I will never again rent from budget

Getting the car in Moncton wasn't too bad. The car was great! Upon returning the car, there was only ONE person on the desk! At least twenty people in line to pick up or drop off. Took me over 30 minutes or more for my return transaction! Felt bad for the associate on the counter, as many people were very angry at the time it took ONE person to process each of us.
Won't be booking with them again.

Budget added about 150 dollars worth of hidden fees to my final bill. This was an awful experience and a car the size of a shoebox that I drove for three days cost me nearly 800 dollars. The lady at the front desk was so rude and made check in a nightmare and added on more fees at that time. I will not be using budget again and will stay with Enterprise!

Booking on line with a representative who has broken English was the problem. The representative when I tried to get what I had initially requested it was going to cost me more money.
