Good sales. Stock is usually excellent & available when I visit this store. Cashiers are friendly, and it's SO nice not having to go through a self-checkout. Way to go Canadian Tire, Smythe St!

We have never been to Canadian Tire and we were quite pleased.
This is a one stop shop, not only a large auto department, but they have houseware and even some food.

I have always been a big supporter of the Canadian Tire Auto Service Center. I have heard horror stories but have never had any major issues or bad experiences until recently.

Canadian Tire Service Center put my winter tires on my rims, balanced them and put them on my car. I got in my car and noticed the tire pressure sensor (TPS) was saying I had a flat tire. I thought maybe there was a slow leak. I proceeded to check and pump the tires each day for the next few days. I reached out to find out what they suggested. They booked me in for another appointment. When I came in they told me I could expect to pay upwards of $288 but wouldn't be sure. I asked why I am paying for something they messed up when they put on my tires. The manager who was sitting off to the side decided to pipe up and in a snooty tone said that the TPS can go at any time and it cant be from them putting on my tires (this made no sense to me as they were taking tires off the rims and replacing them. How is that not putting the TPS sensors of risk of being knocked around). I agreed to have them look at it and see what happened.

1.5 hours later, the manager of the Auto Service Center said that I was quoted incorrectly from the lady who is a new trainee (which she was the only delightful part of the experience). The manager didn't even look at what she quoted me. She did not do her research before blaming a fellow employee of something. She then told me the total of around $140. She told me it was my driver rear TPS sensor that had to be replaced. It has been replaced and everything was okay.

I got in the car and surprise surprise, it was not fixed. I drove around the parking lot a few times to see if that would do anything, it did not.

I walked back in and she told me you need to drive with it for at least 30 km for it to fix itself. It has been replaced so it should work.

After driving well over 30km that night and the next morning, my husband called and spoke with her. She was incredibly rude to my husband. He may have been short with her but certainly kept his temper down were she did not. She said that she instructed me to drive on it for at least 30 km (not asking if I did, just assumed I didn't). When he asked what was wrong with the car from the night before, she said that ALL of the TPS sensors were bad. This was a change from what she said was the issue the night before and they only fixed 1. If they were all the issue why were they not all replaced?

Her stories were not adding up and she continued to be irrate with my husband. He asked for the General manager and she said that someone would be in touch in the next 24 hours.

It has now been 2 weeks. Not only has Canadian Tire Autoserbice Center lost our business but Canadian Tire as a whole.

They don't care about their customers' experience, they rarely have their promotional products and good luck trying to get through to the Auto Parts or Auto Service Center on the phone.

Please Candian Tire, you represent our country as one of our biggest Canadian owned retailers. Do better!

Always the best service period a lady was working doing shelves period I asked her if she could help me out with some backyard materials that I was picking up. With a big smile, she stopped doing what she was doing. Took me to the places I needed to go in. Picked up outside lights period at a very good price period when I got to the lions that I wanted to pick up throat in front of my driveway, there was only one. The lady checked her code gone and told me where I could pick them up at another Canadian tire that was the closest to period you can't get any better than this period high praise.

Interesting to see how much stuff is locked up in cages these days. No impulse shipping, that's for sure
30 June 2023 4:45
OMG, clean this place up.

Please clean this store up, it is a disgrace to the city and the brand.
12 June 2023 21:35
Review every few months. Consistently one of my favorite MAN! Stores. Big believer in loyalty. CT stills gives great deals in these
less than ideal economic times. Friendly professional staff. Keeps me coming back.

Understaffed as all get out, ended up helping a lady find motor oil after she had been standing at the automotive counter waiting for some assistance for over ten minutes. Seems like the pro shop portion was also critically understaffed, based on the line there. If no one's asking to work there, offer more money for those positions.

Had two returns with this store in a short time frame, and customer service was great both times. I appreciated that very much.

+35 outside broke a belt in my car and they refused to help me at the shop. There staff was done work in 15 min so they could not help. Sat in my car for 45 waiting for help.

Shame on you Canadian tire Staff!

Kinda miss seeing the old Canadian currency people use to play poker with but the app works just fine when you're paying a little more just to earn the points for more stuff to clutter your garage. This location seems to be doing better now that they have lockers for online orders because it was somewhat of a nightmare before, where the clerks would only shop for your stuff once you showed up - okay, if you were a restaurant, that would be cool. So they're showing promise.
18 September 2022 23:33
CT why don't you want my business? Tried calling 3x today to order brake pads, but as per usual you never answered. Last time I finally got through, I asked for prices on three specific tires and was essentially told no because the system was too complicated to do quotes. Going to NAPA from now on. They answer immediately and have much better customer service.
08 September 2022 20:59
As usual, walk in for one thing, walk out with 3 having almost forgotten what I meant to get but it was near the cash
29 August 2022 20:44
As far Canadian Tire goes, it's ok. There credit card sucks! My boyfriend had a limit of $300, they wanted him to up it to $4000 which he refused. He had the credit card paid off and a credit of $9, but everytime he used it, 3-4 times, it said declined! He called and canceled the card, no more bull! Now he'll use his Princess Auto card!
28 August 2022 19:19
It's a Canadian Tire, it has tools and stuff. Many employees dont know much about anything (Training is lacking) and are only there for the pay (good for them), but be nice to them, they don't need to know anything. Tell the managers that they are bad at their jobs if employees can't help you!
27 August 2022 14:44
Not a good experience, went in for a portable battery, nobody knew anything, 3 departments later, us 50 minutes, staff not probably trained in their department, bonus, lady at customer service was a sweetheart. No rush to visit tht store again, disappointed
10 August 2022 12:30
It's canadian tire, they have their share of great products along with some junk. But overall a decent place
25 July 2022 2:18
Having to walk out of the store and into auto just to use, in my opinion a dirty locked washroom really put me off. (The space between auto and the store was rammed full of signs and wiper fluid racks). I will not be back if I am in the area. Locking the washroom I am used to, however walking out and around was just rude in my opinion.
24 June 2022 8:23
Went in on a Saturday and the return girl had to get someone to come and do our return. We did not pay tax on our item but they wanted us to do so on new item. She rolled her eyes right in front of my husband and I. How rude.
05 December 2021 20:43
I have found that this location tends to *forget* to post sale prices. I only noticed because, after seeing online sales, I go into the store and see some merchandise priced at the sale price and other merchandise posted in the store at regular price, even though it is actually on sale. Happened this week with the ratchet sets. The Stanley sets were marked at sale price, but the Mastercraft sets somehow had the regular prices only. Had to go to checkout to verify that the Mastercraft sets were also on sale. Not the first time this has happened. Wierd.

What can I say. One stop shop for most anything. Met the manager awhile back. Nice guy. Staff is friendly and helpful. Great place.
27 October 2021 16:01
We were traveling and needed campervan repairs. They were able to get us in first thing in the morning and repaired and on the road again early afternoon!
20 September 2021 20:09
It's difficult to find anyone on the floor to help you. They often run in the opposite direction when you look like you may have a question.
28 August 2021 11:05
Canadian Tire is really good place to go to go get all your things you need for your car tires and the things you need for your house
25 August 2021 6:17
Booo! Wait 15 mins @ automotive counter only to have clearance bin price not honoured after another 10 mins of consultation. Walmart had it, no issue or snarky remarks.
08 August 2021 8:38
Can never find anyone willing to assist a customer. When you ask them for assistance they won't assist to find someone that works in the department. If I can't buy what I want at the Northside Canadian Tire or oromocto I will drive to Moncton or St John now so I don't have to deal with the piss poor lazy customer service at this store.
08 August 2021 0:08
Highly priced items that are just not worth it.
I saw a kettle I bought at Costco for 25.00 and was priced 74.99 here. Most if the time they don't have what's advertised in their flyer.
27 July 2021 18:48
Was one of my favorite stores, but as the older staff leave it's becoming harder to shop at this location. The young woke culture staff being hired need to understand the meaning of customer relations, respect to thier elders. What they are accomplishing for the owners? , I purchase on line, visit store less. Buy less.
27 July 2021 7:06
So far alot of good supplies for my bicycle and alternative household. I suggest Canadian Tire carry more mobile solar equipment. (To charge cellphones/laptops on the go).
25 July 2021 17:35
Great store has everything you need, and the staff is very friendly and very helpful. Would deal with this branch because the staff is so great.

**Redacted review. I feel that it's not fair to criticize a company or a location due to one isolated incident. Overall, this CT location has always met my expectations in the past. **

On May 5, during my visit to this location at approximately 4 PM, in-store pick-up at the parts department was not this location's strong suit. Waited 10 minutes without anyone acknowledging me waiting in front of the department's cash registers. The gentleman working there was too busy sorting stuff in a red bin to be bothered by another customer asking him a question. After asking someone walking by for help and being told that she's doesn't work in the department, she calls him over. A sigh later, he asks me what I wanted, took his merry time to retrieve my order (solid 15 minutes), and another lengthy 5 minutes to process the paperwork. No exaggerations; not impressed.
18 June 2021 18:38
I didn't find what I wanted and since I'm a guy, I of course, didn't ask for help. However, it's a huge store, so I should have asked. Oh well, c'est la vie.
06 June 2021 16:02
Really wish employees knew what the store carried rather than telling me they didn't carry something and me finding it as I walk out. Have to say I didn't buy it there.
03 June 2021 11:23
Went in looking for a battery operated weed Wacker that was on sale. None on shelves. A young man by the name of Tristan went to the warehouse and couldn't find them there. He called Oromocto and confirmed they had them asked to hold one for me at customer service. This young man is a very good ambassador for Canadian Tire
18 May 2021 23:06
Waiting room needs a good cleaning. There two days in a row. Washroom used slot, waiting had people coming and going. 1 hour each day, no one wiped or cleaned
02 May 2021 12:53
The place is extremely hard to get anyone to help you. They almost run away and never make eye contact. I gave it 2 stars because they do have a lot of product, you are just on your own when you get there.
12 March 2021 3:45
Git a great deal on shelves. Online app used to show isle product is in but could not find this time. Took a while to find it.
06 February 2021 6:39
Today I went there and my little one need to go at the washroom and they where close. The only store right now that I know who close the washroom. Really? !?
22 January 2021 5:36
I was disappointed by the garage service. Organisation was poor, was told the tires I had ordered could not be found on site only 30 minutes after my scheduled installation, then redirected to a slightly inferior substitute.
09 January 2021 11:49
I prefer the Canadian Tire in Oromocto. Plp are more friendlier in my opinion. Oromocto had less stock. But you can always order online
04 January 2021 14:34
We havent been dealing with this particular store very long and already more than one incident with this store! Not to say all C. T stores are bad, BUT this is the worst Canadian Tire store we've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. We'll go across the bridge from here on out.
28 December 2020 15:43
The staff at Canadian Tire Smythe are very polite and seem to know where everything is which is unlike other CT’s I’ve been to, the Sporting goods team are amazingly professional and knowledgeable and you can tell they truly know their outdoor products. I’ve never been in much of a line up there with the exception of when COVID first hit which is awesome because the Northside location always seems to have less than needed cashiers on duty which creates long lines/ wait times.
20 December 2020 9:21
Went in looking for paint, there were no associates at the paint section and when I tried to flag down two different associates neither seemed to hear me or ignored me and kept on going. After waiting around for 10 minutes to see if an associate would come by, I decided to leave. An associate at the front was very rude as I was trying to find the exit (which apparently the only exit is through the cash).
14 May 2020 16:44
I like Canadian Tire for a number of things especially when I have an eclectic collection of things that I need. They have hardware and car stuff and cheap grinding discs. They have plumbing and electrical and paint. They also have an excellent hunting and fishing section in most stores. Very importantly their returns are straight forward friendly. The down sides that I don't like are that some of the stuff can be cheap, the bathrooms are often in a deplorable state and the employees that work there (even though they seem to be very good employees) don't seem to be treated that well (I base this on 3 people that I have know that have worked at Canadian Tire at different times at different locations. Overall I would recommend Canadian Tire as a souped up dollar store for all your various needs.

My wife was recently in our local store and noticed a older gentleman having trouble looking for something so of course she offered to help and did.low and be hold he was the owner of the store and asked the cashier to give my wife a discount which was greatly appreciated.
18 March 2020 3:13
Usually have the stuff your looking for but don't try and find anyone to help you. It is more of a store that you are on your own.
10 February 2020 2:52
Great staff, (Judy, Amanda, Jen, Emily, Marc, Phil, Pat, etc) they are always helpful and pleasant. The store has lots of variety for generally anything I need, and a few times when they ran out they've back ordered stuff for me. Service center reps (Brad and Draper) are also great and the prices for repairs to my vehicles are reasonable.
