Captain Dan's

Last year 2021, thus was one of our favorite places. Not sure what happened but we went twice this year and both time service was horrible. From not getting drinks and having to go to the bar to get them, to a reduced menu and false info from staff. We have visitors all summer and we didn't take any to Captain Dans as we didn't want them to have a bad experience. Such a disappointment. Hope things improve. Maybe next year we might give them another shot. I don't think they really care if their customers are happy or not, just looking to grab those tourist dollars.

We were here years ago and loved it so we made sure to stop again on the way to PEI. Looks permanently closed but yet says open on the internet search.

Service très moyen nourriture décevante le homard seulement froid moules minuscules rapport qualité prix très inférieur à nos attentes.

Had we had fish and chips and a Wharf burger with sweet potato fries. Those fries were the best ever! Only complaint was the brioche bun was burnt just a bit. The Small batch IPA was fantastic.

Great view, and our Boston Terrier, Ollie was able to join us on the deck.

Had an absolutely horrible dining experience at supper on July 17. Our family of 4 was seated at 530pm and our waitress kept forgetting us. People seated after us recieved their food, ate, paid their bill and left before our waitress remembered to put our order in. She forgot our utensils, drinks, etc. Didn't get our meal until 730pm - 2hrs after being seated. The food was warm, but not hot and my daughter felt ill shortly after finishing her meal. Bill was $193. Definitely not worth it!

We arrived with our miniature poodle and were welcomed and quickly seated on the deck. It took our server, Melina, a little while to get to us but, both she and another server, were very busy so we were patient. Drink order was taken and menus delivered. By the time she arrived with our drinks (and water for the dog) we were ready to order. It took a while for our food to arrive but not too long. Our fries were piping hot and delish. The slaw was perfect. Our Lobster Roll was a little on the bland side. It could have used a little more sauce and for the price, we ordered the JUMBO, it should have been a lot bigger. It arrived on a hamburger bun sized Brioche. Maybe we were given the regular size by mistake. Our server made up for the short comings.she was delightful and attentive. We will be back but perhaps choose something other than the Lobster Roll.

JULY 16 2022, Waitress was rude, and not very nice, only reason we stayed was because the line was to long at the Sandbar, but WORRY PAS, we would rather wait in line and get good service.

Highly not recommended

UPDATE! While sitting here, we ordered another round of drinks that never came, muscles were cold, lobster rolls were soaking wet.

Unbelievably disappointed

This place has been great in the past. This trip - lobster was great but the fish and chips were soggy and half the muscles weren’t cooked - and even when the waitress notices, you’re still paying for them.

Come for the beer and music - toss a coin on whether or not your food will be any good.

I was not impressed. Was told to come here and this place came highly recommended. It was too bad that the muscles we ordered came mostly closed and under cooked. The main mixed meal was very small and only had 3 marble sized pieces of shrimp.the waitress spilled the clan chowder on another plate and never offered to change even though it was served cold. Let's just say it was not what I expected. The seafood taco was really good that my girlfriend ordered.

Amazing customer service, the waitresses was so sweet and very talkative. She gave great recommendations. The food came quickly and delicious with no flaws. Next time I visit I'll be making sure to come back for the fresh fish.

Had the fish tacos, great food and generous portions. Great views, happy hour beers. I'll be going back!

Typical tourist trap with a great view and decently priced drinks. Food is overpriced for quality. The whole lobster served chilled should have been a clue.

Came here today, and had the best New York striplion steak, grilled to the perfect rare doneness! The last two times when it was summer, during tourist season, they weren't open, but Captain's Dan's didn't disappoint!

Food was fantastic, loved my plate I hot yummm.and the view was great! Never disappointed when I go there.

Had a wonder waitress named Tara! She was very friendly and witty. The fish and chip were amazing. We were glad we were able to eat here considering they were closing for the season! We will be back! See you next year!

Was really excited to eat here I get fish and chips where ever I go I must say I was really disappointed - the fish was dry - the breading was soggy when it came to the table and had absolutely no flavour - hopefully the other food here is good but it’s no from me for the fish!

We attempted to eat at this establishment but it was NOT accessable to the mobility challenged, the only open entrance was up a very steep flight of stairs and when we tried to call to see if there was a compatible entrance we only got voicemail.

The good? Food was amazing. Service was prompt and friendly. Pricing is fair. Atmosphere is welcoming.
The negatives I would say from my own perspective are: you have to pay $3 to park before even approaching the parking lot. In 30+ degree weather, it would have been nice to have a choice on eating inside however we were escorted immediately to the outside deck to be seated. As a result of being outside and being uncomfortably hot, there were a lot of flies around landing on the food.
All in all I gave a 4 star rating because it was a great establishment with great food. I would go back again because the good aspects overshadowed over the bad.

Love the food, drinks and our server Tara was great. Long wait for drinks but they were very busy so understandable. Will definitely be back.

Went once and wasn't impressed. Waited 30 mins to be seated then other tables were being served before us that came after. All in all we sat and waited 2 hours to get our meals. Thank God for the view on the patio! We tried going again the other night and we were HORRIBLY disappointed. The staff seem very undertrained at this establishment. We felt very unwelcome. We left and went to Sandbar and it was a great decision to do so. 2 chances for this place. I'm over it. I'll take my money, friends and family elsewhere.

Place was pretty decent, but when I ordered the Dans Clams, the biggest order I was really surprised that is was mostly fries and minimal clams. I believe they just got hit hard that day by patrons because they didn't have many appetizers available. Service was great and I enjoyed the atmosphere and view.

Wonderful restaurant for some seafood and a beautiful view on the second floor patio right on the wharf.

Out of the way gem on the water! Great view and food! Seafood chowder and broiled seafood sampler were excellent especially mixed together halfway through our meal (apologies to the chef)!

Nice patio overlooking the water, friendly staff, and good food. The hostesses did appear to be fairly busy, distracted, New or all of the above as we did have to wait a while to be seated/attended to at the entrance to restaurant which really shouldn't happen. Had a Pina Colada and Lobster roll with fries. Pina colada was tasty but was fairly weak alcohol wise and 10$ a pop would expect more of a kick. Lobster roll was nice with fresh Lobster but amount of Lobster on the roll seemed fairly small. Also was not on the typical Lobster roll type bun, which was a little unexpected. The round kaiser style brioche bun was nice but would have preferred a classic style bun with more Lobster for $20+. Overall decent little sea side restaurant with touristy vibes but also a local comfortable feeling to it as well. I would go back and give it another try and sample some of the fried sea foods that are available. Restaurant can be fairly busy at peak times (6-9pm) especially on weekends, so be prepared for that. We went at 8 pm the day before (closes at 10pm) and they were not seating any more customers.

Atmosphere is nice. Just what is expect for a restaurant on a wharf. Service was OK, we had to ask for a couple things more than once. Menu selection isn't as wide as I expected. Food was OK, but portions were more than fair.

Get a patio seat overlooking the marina as the tide goes out and watch the boats come in for some extra entertainment.

Très bon restaurant avec une terrasse vue sur la marina. Les plats sont très délicieux et le service est impeccable. Le prix est un peu cher mais ça vaut le détoure.

The lobster was fresh and really good. Great service and an amazing view on the marina on a warm afternoon. The salty breeze gives it a slight touch!
