Great view. Excellent place on West side to watch fireworks that are shot from the harbour. The renovated tower looks great. The info center, which is open during the summer, can answer all your related questions. You can walk around the area at any time.

Carleton Martello Tower, at the top of the hill overlooking Saint John built in 1812. The tower was under restorations and primarily closed, so wasn't too much to see at the time. However, if you're interested in seeing the size and architecture and some history, definitely worth the visit.

We visited this place because it has one of the best views of the city and it was worth it. You can buy a ticket and listen to the story about this historic place, however, if you want to walk around or even sit outside the building it is free, and if the weather is nice, you can enjoy a lovely afternoon with your family.

Good view of Saint John and the surrounding area. Too bad you cannot actually enter the tower itself.

Beautiful views of the area. Nice little informative museum nearby. Restrooms available. Friendly guides. Only a few dollars to get in.

Great historic site. Tower access is not allowed at this time. Will likely be a couple of years before the tower reopens.

Friendly staff and a neat location. Nice displays. I wish we could have toured the tower itself, but it is under going renovations to make it even better.

Great way to get the lay of the land. Good view of the harbour and the city. The tower was closed when we went but you really don't need it to get the great view.

Absolutely beautiful, Because of the timing I arrived they were unfortunately not allowed inside, but I've been told it's absolutely breathtaking, along with the outside, easy to get there, and when by the tower, the view is absolutely astonishing

Use to go up Martello tower to slide when I was younger, this landmark sat at the top of my street when I lived in my old childhood home, before it was torn down due to being a fire hazard.
