Great old style diner!

We rarely give 5 stars across the board, but this place deserves all of them. The menu is really broad so everyone can find something they like, the prices are excellent and our server was wonderful. Thank you for a great meal.

Food was great, had fish and chips and coconut ship and both were fantastic. Boyfriend had poutine (only suggestion would be not to have weird green beans in it) and he said the hamburger was great. Really friendly service and costumers.

This is a mandatory stop for me when in St. Stephen. Good food like the old times. The bathrooms are super clean too.

Really nice diner. Friendly service, food is great, including the best fish chowder I have ever had. Chowder is made by scratch for each order. Worth the wait! If you are in Calais, it is worth going over the border and back.

Just passing through town for the first time on a dark rainy afternoon. Pulled in here because the only other choice seemed to be the Dairy Queen. We had a burger, fries, gravy, shrimp, chowder, slaw and salad and both agreed that this might be the best diner we’ve ever eaten at. What an excellent find! Nice work Hannah and the rest of the crew.

Food was awesome, for value, there portions are on par with pricing. Great service. Highly recommend. Worth every penny!

We were visiting from out of town, and we asked someone locally the best place to eat in town, and without hesitation, they said, "Go to Carman's Diner. "

This diner has been in business for over 60 years and is still owned by the same family. The atmosphere and architecural style hakens back to the 60s to a place where everyone knows your name, and you would spot warm smiles everywhere. There was even a juke box on each table if you wanted to hear some good old classics. I was already in love with this place before we even got our menus.

The food was excellent, and our order was perfect.

In short, this was a perfect outing for us. We highly recommend this place.

Just came out of this little diner, great staff, friendly, helpful and great service. Food was great. This was recommended to us by the owner of the Scoodic motel in town. Great little motel also. Super clean and good price. HIGHLY recommend the both of them

The only thing even remotely negative is the size of the fish, but for the price, it's completely reasonable.

Food was pretty good. Place was quite busy. Waited a bit longer than usual for our meal, but that's normal for any restaurant when busy. Server was great.

Great little diner with lots of choice. Breakfast is very yummy with the place always full. Great price as well.

Friendliness of staff and my coconut shrimp appetizers were wonderful. My husband wasn't quite as thrilled with half of his hot meat sandwich plate. The sandwich itself was good, but the stuffing had too much sage in it, the mashed potatoes could have been more mashed, and the corn tasted stale. Lots of other menu options are available though, and the place is clean and has lots of history.
