The Crab cakes tasted like cheap fish and they were under seasoned. I couldn’t eat after 1 bite!
Lobster roll was ok.decent amount of meat.
The fries were great
The seafood chowder had only 2 scallops, 2 shrimp, 1 small piece of lobster and mostly potatoes.
Overall extremely underwhelming

Excellent service et le repas était délicieux.
Dans une ambiance de restaurant familial nous sommes reçus chaleureusement. Les plats sont goûteux et bien realisé. Je vous recommande cette endroit, nous avons eu une très belle expérience.

Great staff. Food was severely disappointing. I hate giving low ratings to family run business (as this seems to be). But I would never recommend the food here to anyone.

Ordered takeout and it was DELICIOUS! Staff were incredibly friendly over the phone to order and just as nice in-person at pickup. Reasonable prices, good sized portions and top notch quality. Thank you for a delicious meal!

Came in on a super busy night, but the staff were so friendly and efficient that the wait went by quick! The food was all very fresh and well seasoned, and I loved how cheesy the escargot were. Will definitely be back!

I always love my experience at Catch 22. The food is always excellent! No skimping on the seafood. Seafood pasta is very tasty. My favorite is seafood platter. Enough for 2.

Great service from Nicky. The restaurant was busy on a Thursday night but the food arrived quickly. We ordered the haddock in lobster sauce and the coquilles St Jacques; both were delicious. I would eat here again!

Our server was great and made great suggestions on what to try and we each enjoyed our seafood catch 22 platters.

Our server was very nice and knowledgeable, I had the Cajun seafood sir fry. It was delicious, I would come back. They also serve beers from a local brewery, it was a good combination

Amazing food here and our server made excellent recommendations not just for food but for beers too. The best seafood Alfredo that I’ve ever had and everyone who got the Catch 22 Platter raved about how tasty everything was, specifically the large scallops. We also had the seafood gratin, the lobster cocktail, and the lobster chowder. All 10/10. If we ever come back to Moncton, we will return!

The service was horrible. The server kept reaching over me and the other family members, kept bumping into me, almost tipped over my drink, The mussels were horrible and my main coarse was cold. I was very disappointed. I spent almost $80

Excellent service. No problem fulfilling my dietary needs due to some intolerances. 4 of us had various seafood dishes - all delicious. Came from west coast to have some Atlantic lobster. Not disappointed. Highly recommend

My wife and I just finished a 2 week trip all over the maritime provinces and this was our favourite meal! The calamari appetizer was perfectly crisp, my seafood casserole was the ultimate comfort food, and her seafood platter was overflowing with deliciousness! Super friendly staff was the perfect cherry on top.

Delicious well prepared food. Service wasn’t quite as good as when we were here last year. I would have given 4.5 stars if I could.

I had the Lobster Thermidor which was spectacular! Just the right amount of cheese and creamy mushroom lobster sauce. After cracking open the generous sized lobster claws I enjoyed dipping them into the thermidor sauce. The vegetables that accompanied my meal were a perfectly cooked buttery mix of carrots, broccoli, cauliflower and onion. The baked potato was delicious. The server promptly brought me sour cream when asked. There was no butter served with the baked potato, but the sour cream sufficed.

My husband had the Seafood Jambalaya which consisted of a generous portion of shrimp cooked to perfection. His meal was delicious though somewhat oily. There was a large puddle of oil at the bottom of his bowl when he finished his meal. Despite the copious amount of oil he enjoyed his dinner immensely. He had the same dish last summer minus so much oil.

For dessert, I had the Crème Brûlée. It arrived perfectly presented and the top cracked nicely when tapped with my spoon. Though perfectly cooked and hot on the outside, the center was disappointingly cold.

My husband had a tasty double serving of their delicious sorbet. As no one came by to check on our desserts, I went ahead and ate the cold area of the crème brûlée and it was still very tasty.

I ordered a coffee that never arrived. As the server became busy with a large table in front we chose not to try to flag someone down for coffee. We waited patiently for the bill after finishing our desserts.

For drinks with our meal I had a superbly spiced Bloody Caesar and my husband had a refreshing Iced Tea.

We weren’t asked if we wanted more drinks and ran out of water too mid meal. Our server was busy and we weren’t able to get more water until our dessert order. Other staff walked back and forth without offering to refill our water glasses or asking if we’d like more drinks.

Overall, this restaurant is a tremendously enjoyable experience and I highly recommend it.

Unfortunately, there were a few minor things that bothered me.

When I arrived promptly for our reservation, it was quite busy. The hostess looked at me without smiling then when back to what she was doing. I stood in the doorway largely ignored for ten minutes. A smile and nod acknowledging my presence would have been welcoming while the hostess continued with her phone conversation. A friendly server sat me at 8: 10.

It took a while for our server to approach us. She was friendly when she came to our table and we liked her very much. Things that bothered me were staff walking back and forth empty handed past our table while we sat there with empty plates for fifteen minutes. No one took the initiative to remove our dirty dishes for our server. We were served dessert with dirty side plates and utensils on the table as well as empty drink glasses. I realize it’s de rigeur these days to leave empty drink glasses on the table so people can see how much they’ve drank in some establishments but that combined with the plates and utensils while eating our dessert was kind of off putting. The servers seemed to work in a ‘hands off’ each other’s tables way rather than cooperatively clearing and checking on one another’s tables. Including ourselves, I could see other people waiting unnecessarily too.

All in all, it was an extremely busy Sunday evening which is a testament to the popularity and excellence of Catch 22.

Overall an enjoyable dinner experience with a couple of minor hiccups. The food was excellent, the server was very friendly and we look forward to going back.

Excellent seafood restaurant in downtown Moncton. Great service and cozy booths. Be sure to make reservations ahead of time as this is a popular restaurant and is always busy. Everything tasted amazing particularly the seafood pasta. Desserts are delicious and the flambé is done right at your table. It's a fun to watch it being made.

This place is a hidden gem! We went to Catch 22 on our out East tour and ordered multiple seafood dishes. The food was impeccable, Jess was an amazing server letting us know what dishes were good and even showing us how to get all the meat out of the lobster we had. I highly recommend the Bacon Wrapped Scallops, the Bouillabaisse Chowder and the Fisherman Platter. The speed in which the food came out and the quality of the food was top notch! I would recommend this place to anyone travelling to Moncton!

Fantastic experience! Great little seafood restaurant. Very charming and the staff was WONDERFUL! Quite possibly the best fries I've ever had as well. I don't know what they season them with, but I would buy it if they put it in a jar.

Been dying to try seafood during our vacay to Moncton and we weren't disappointed. We were lucky to get a reservation at the last minute and were very satisfied. Food served on time. I had the seafood casserole and hubby the catch 22 seafood platter. They also had a kids menu and there were no complaints. Pleasant experience for my family. Good food and amazing service from Kelly. This Montrealer will definitely recommend this place and come back again!

The meals were fresh and delicious. We had a short wait on a Sunday night, our waitress was great and the food was served in a timely manner.

Not impressed for a downtown seafood restaurant, and had much higher expectations. Overpriced for the quality and quantity of food we received. Tiny portion of calamari appetizer definitely tasted like they were frozen; rubbery. Scallops appetizer were small. Was expecting nice freshly made in-house crab cakes, but they were again, most likely frozen, overly deep-fried little crumby pucks that tasted like (I’m assuming) mushy cat food. Disappointing! Lobster au gratin was greasy, barely any lobster, and nothing to dip in it came with it - server recommended garlic bread ($6 extra for a few pieces). Spent over $100 total with tip for a couple drinks and appetizers. Sadly won’t be returning or recommending.

Very disappointing. Of all the places in Canada, one should expect fish and chips in the Maritimes to be at least, decent.
The fish could have been frozen for the taste, and the batter lacked everything a good batter is. The icing on that cake is that it comes with what I’m sure is McCains fries. Yep.frozen fries which they powdered wayyy too much seasoning salt on. All this, for 19 bucks!
I’d have half forgiven this if I’d paid 7.95 from a food truck for it.
First and definitely last time.

It was a Saturday night and full, some empty tables but reserved. In no time all the tables were occupied. Thankfully we were given a table just the same.
Our dinner consists of the Fisherman’s platter which has half lobster, shrimps, scallops, breaded haddock and crab cakes. We also tried their Lobster roll. It has chunks of lobster meat on a toasted bun with mayo and celery, served with fries.
Finally we also had Rockefeller oyster. It was creamy, salty and distinctly savory.
Our meals were absolutely delicious. It was a bit pricey but was all worth it. Our server, Emilie was prompt, friendly and attentive to our needs.
Me and my wife had a great evening and we were glad to have the opportunity to eat at Catch-22.
Overall I’m rating it four spoons out of five.

Very good experience. The food was quite good, with nice size seafood portions considering the prices. Lobster was cooked just right, and steak was as ordered. Service was nice with about what you would expect from the atmosphere of the restaurant. I would recommend for a nice lobster meal out in downtown!

Food was great, but OVERPRICED. The lobster rolls were the size of a small hotdog, the fries were dry. The caeser salad was disappointing.

1-The lobster was frozen.
2-The garlic bread was burnt
4-The rice was tasteless
3-The mussels were sandy or something crunchy (more than usual)
4-even the water had the weirdest taste
So I don’t think they deserve stars at all.

Our family of 4 ate here this past week and the food and service was excellent! Highly recommend the seafood platter, I loved that only the crab cakes were deep-fried. All of the seafood tasted very fresh. Surf and turf was also delish and steak was cooked perfectly.

My family from the US visited me here. And we tried to find a local flavor that is really good. Luckily, even if it’s past 8 we were still accommodated here. They look like so full from the outside and having different options on the menu with a kid with us is great. The lobster is tasty and the filet mignon was cooked just right.my nephew also enjoyed his fish and chips.definitely a gem for me to recommend when friends and family will be back in town.

Service was OUTSTANDING, the staff were personable and super friendly. Food was amazing, highly recommend the seafood crepe, stuffed full of seafood and they did not scrimp on the lobster. Top it off with a Creme Brule that was smooth, creamy and soooo delicious. Added bonus possibily the BEST dirty martini I have ever been made

If you're looking for straight seafood this is the place. I wasn't super impressed with the flavour but, vacationing in new Brunswick, seafood is the thing to eat. This place didn't disappoint. Though I've had better seafood dishes elsewhere I found.

We arrived at 5: 45 and waited for our meal for over 1 1/2 hours. Lack of staff and the restaurant was totally full and so loud. We couldnt hear our selfs talk. Banging of dishes. Our waitress kept making up excuses for taking so long to bring us second drinks. Food was so so. My lobster Thermidor was so disappointing.
Just blobs of cheese and no taste at all. We asked for sour cream/butter for 3 people for potatoes and got told it was mixed in to the baked potatoes. One person wanted roasted potatoes and told they didnt have any and just give him a baked potatoe he didnt want or offered.
Or bill was well over $500 and the meal was worth about $100. My appetizer was 5 oysters Rockefeller. Just oysters in butter/cheese. No bread to dunk in the sauce. No garlic. Boring. No cheese offered to put on top of sea food pasta dishes. Very poor quality. Second photo is Lobster Thermidor with actual lobster meat in it!

Wow. Très beau restaurant. Service extraordinaire avec Jessika. La chaudrée de fruit de mer succulente. L assiette du pêcheur vraiment bonne tout est frais et SANS fritures sauf crabe cake car c est fait comme ça. Riz et légumes parfait. Dessert moelleux au chocolat parfait.
Vraiment un incontournable à Moncton pour de vrai fruit de mer. La table voisine ont pris le surf and turf çà semblait vraiment bon. On va revenir assurément à notre prochain voyage.

I have to say, this particular meal was amazing. Got the surf and turf, and onions / Mushrooms on the side. Everything was cooked to perfection, perfect temperature, veggie side was cooked just right, the serving lady was super nice, pleasant. Etc The only thing I will comment on, $2.95 for a single can of pop really leaves a bad taste in my mouth - there nothing fancy about cracking open a 24 pack from Costco (I'm guessing on this one) and giving a can to a client, consider fair pricing - if this was fountain pop, I would have paid $3 for unlimited refills, but definitely not for a single can. Otherwise, great experience - thank you.

We tried the terrace but the rain pushed us inside. Beatiful decor into the restaurant. Right on Main St this is THE best steak & seafood restaurant in the neighborhood. We tried the seafood stir fry and lobster plate. Everything was EXCELLENT. They made their own lava cale for dessert! This is a MUST. And ask for Jessica! Fantastic server!

One of the best seafood restaurants I've ever been. Service is excellent, variety of food is good and there's a lot to choose to drink as well. Whenever I go to moncton I have to stop there. It's very close to Marriott, so it's super easy to find. Highly recommended

Great seafood restaurant in Moncton. I had the Maple Salmon which was really well seasoned and my wife had the Cajun Lobster Jambalaya that was spicy. All in all a really good place with nice atmosphere.

Food is great service is great the only thing since last time went the food seemed less then usual I'm assuming it will go back to normal once the virus is over but it's my wife's and I favorite restaurant

I got take out from this place. Overall the food was good. The lobster chowder had a decent amount of potatoes and lobster meat. The maple bacon scallop was cooked perfectly and very light hint of maple syrup that does not over power the scallops and bacon. The lobster roll was good and fries had a nice seasoning to it. Lava cake was decent, nothing over the top. Overall, the meal tasted very good. Other reviews complain about small portion, but I find it just right, especially for a seafood restaurant. Staff were also very friendly and quick to take orders. Would definitely visit again.

Amazing food, took the tasting plate with all the seafood, it was simply to die for.great and warm service.respectable wine selection.excellent prices for the great food quality. If you are in Moncton, you should go there!

Everything was great. Me and my boyfriend had the lobster rolls and it was so tasty. Place was relatively busy and we still got our food relatively quickly. Will definately go back.

The seafood here is awesome! We had the lobster roll. Fantastic! We also had the escargot, a wee bit small but super tasty. Our waitress was also super friendly! There kitchen was a bit slow but the staff told us that it was due to a huge table that was seated there. Also the men's washroom floor was very sticky, everyone that walked out was making sticky sounds which was a bit of turn off. Overall all, it was a good experience.

Seafood fettuccine to die for! So much seafood, loved it. My husband had the fisherman's platter and he loves it. Would go back in a heartbeat. The calamari is a must have, melts in your mouth!

Great Lobster Roll. And lobster gratin with garlic sauce was simply awesome. Couldn't have chosen better for the dinner for a trip to Moncton
