Comeau's Seafood Restaurant

Very disappointed with our clams and fish. Clams over cooked and the fish the batter was falling off.

Went here today for supper after a day at the beach. The service was prompt and the waitress polite, she took our order and it was a bit of a wait which was understandable we were a table of 5. When the food arrived it came out all together and was nice and hot! The seafood (clams and scallop) were nicely cooked and lightly battered. It was all really good! Would recommend, then head down the road for some blueberry pies and muffins or icecream!

Restaurant closed until feb 1st. No indication of hours change either here or on their facebook page. Drove all the way from saint john to find a note taped to the door.

Best fish and chips in NB. I used to go here all of the time with my grandparents since I was a little girl. They still live in Pennfield and I try and go every time I am in NB to visit. Absolutely love it here!

The food is fine, nothing extra. Service was friendly. All deep fried, not a salad to be found. It was convenient at the time but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back.

Was craving this for ever. And was sadly disappointed. Things have gone down hill. Frozen bag fries, soggy fish, batter didn't stick to scallops. Gravy came in a sauce cup, not near enough for anything. And 1 small cuppy of ketchup. For god sake I'm paying 30 bucks a plate put some dam bottles of ketchup on the tables, and cut you're own fries. Terrible.

In my opinion it took waaaaay toooo long to eat. Half hour wait for a table, hmmm, that's ok, it was a busy time. BUT once we were seated it took about 45 mins for our food! It's just fish guys! It's not as though it takes long to cook! Food was good, at least, but nothing spectacular!

As always the class were amazing and had leftovers to take home! No waiting seated right away. Our server was very friendly.

Always like Comeaus restaurant my lobster roll was delicious and my husbands club sandwich was very good

Very greasy food, everything tastes the same! Would not recommend, dill pickle fries are disgusting! On a positive note lobster roll was good and reasonably priced!

Always a great experience at this place. The servings are huge. Yeah it's nice to see a restaurant it gives you quality food at a good price

Place is set up great covid style, service was great, food portions were great, prices fair. An overall excellent experience.

Delicious 3 piece fish and chips, very light batter on the fish. Fish crumbled apart with a fork. French fries are not anything special. Very clean with good service.

Very good seafood. Huge yes I said huge servings. We shared a large seafood platter between my wife and I. Couldn't eat it all. Sooooo goooood

I didn't have the seafood but my friends did. The portions were more than sufficient and tasty from my observations.
I had a 'hot hamburger sandwich' (my measure for restaurants) which left some things to be desired. Not surprising since its specialty is seafood.

Yesterday we enjoyed a delicious meal at Comeau's in Pennfield. The clams were amazing and the fish bites were so fresh and flaky.

Amazing food ordered had within 15 minutes and the waitress was amazing as well. Can't wait to go back. Clams and fries everytime and always so good

Nice place to eat. The best one in area. When we were there, they were very busy and had no free tables inside. So we used a table outside, and enjoyed it a lot.

I have been to all the places around that sell fish n chips. By far the best fish and shrimp of all of them. My family also go on about the clams and scallops. The ONLY negative would be that its too bad they are not home made fries with it. But still a 5 star.

Just love their seafood. The servings are exceptional and got to have a big appetite to finish all of meal. Disappointed the highway changed and find it a little harder to accessible but still worth the little extra time Recommend to all seafood lovers!

Even with covid going on, they still do an excellent job! Super clean and Sanitary! Great food (always). Even with having to clean so much more, they still strive to keep great customer service! Well done guys!

We each had a 2 piece fish and chips. It was awesome. You get more fish and not all the batter you get at alot of other places. We definitely be going back!

My husband and I shared the large seafood plate, and had more than enough. We also had cheesecake and pie. Huge portions of everything.

The food is great and the portions are very generous. Every time I eat here, I’m O-Fish-Ally Comeau-Tose from all of the great food.

Excellent fish and chips, not greasy. Big portions. They need at least 2 more staff to help dining room and more kitchen staff also.

The best seafood around. We went as two couples. We got 3 seafood platters. It was just enough food for the 4 of us. Had a few fried clams left over that we took back to hotel room.

Fish and chips were terrific. Warning! They offer 3 and 5 pieces so I figured they were probably small. WRONG. I received 5 large filets and lots of fries. I was able to eat 3, gave one to my friend, and had to leave one on my plate. What a serving. Great food, great price. Service is excellent.

This is a very nice and homy little out of the way diner.
But the seafood is 5*
The homade coleslaw is the best ever.

Saff are lovely/ Food is always made to order & fresh & traditionally the portions have always been amazzzzing with a wonderful selection of homemade desserts. However the past 3 visits have been a bit disappointing.

Each of our last visits have been timed differently to figure out if we were just having bum luck such as arriving during or directly after an exceptionally busy time of day.
Today we arrived at 11: 30am (just before what is normally a busy lunch).

Unfortunately after today's lunch we realized the portion sizes are now the new normal & the prices no longer reflect the quality or portions. We also noted that others must be noticing the same trend as this normally "VERY BUSY" little diamond in the rough restaurant served only 3 tables of people during the time we were there.

The staff are as lovely as ever however the food was meh, portions are far smaller than they had always been & only had a limited selection of desserts (which looked to be leftovers from the previous evening). Both the Irving restaurant along with a little take out which are across the road from Comeau's were very busy with a lunch crowd.

We left feeling disappointed. Comeau's had always been one of those off the beaten path & telling friends its the type of place "Worthy of a Saturday drive to treat yourself to clams/fish or any number of the delicious homemade desserts. After today's lunch it wouldn't be my first recommendation.

Food is excellent but the wait is always around half hour to 45 mins to get seated then about another twenty mins to get food.

The clams made me sick small platter 2 scallops, 2 shrimp one piece of haddock pitiful. $25 without tax! Not impressed with all the hype!

The fish was good, the poutine, not so much. I think they threw some fries and shredded cheese in beef gravy and called it poutine.

Not crazy about the fish at all. Was like a shake n bake type batter. Fries where just your typical frozen fries. Friendly sever but that's about it.

Can't have a trip back home to Saint John without at least one trip to Comeau's. They don't take reservations so you might have a bit of a wait during busy times. It's worth the effort. Huge portions but you can also order the seafood without fries if you prefer. The desserts are really good too!
