Days Inn by Wyndham Saint John New Brunswick

This room STUNK. The outside appearance and location seemed quite sketchy. The lobby itself was nice but the halls to the room looked like murders had occurred here. The room also appeared nice but it smelt like mold/mildew. The window weirdly looked out onto a court yard which was unpleasant and felt unsafe. The comforter was also super scratchy to top it off.

Mice and other bugs. Good for low level hotel but not very nice. Pics look good but obviously never deep cleaned.

Rating it zero stars. Absolutely terrible. Checked out yesterday and they have stole items from me. Pay the extra $50 bucks a night to stay somewhere that is safe, trustworthy and has a professional staff. Disgusting

Just spent two nights in an "accessible" room. First, I must stress that the staff are amazing! Friendly, kind and compassionate to our concerns.

The concerns were that this was not an "accessible" room as advertised. Yes, the bathroom was big. However, as a wheelchair user it missed the mark on several things. Only one grab bar. This meant that transfers to the shower chair on wet floors made it very risky. Unable to reach shower head, counter top to high and wide so washing face and brushing teeth was.messy. Also, unable to plug in accessories like curling iron, shaver etc.

The room itself was spacious. However, I was unable to get wheelchair to side of bed. I also was not able to transfer into bed as it was so high. I was able to roll backwards between queen beds but no space to have help with transfer which I could have done by myself if bed was not so high. I was not able to turn off side table lights as they were positioned to far from bed. As I traveled with my spouse he was able to assist me with these issues. I am very independent and this experience made me anxious. I feel sleep and hygiene are basic human needs and that this was being overlooked being labeled as an "accessible" room.

I cannot stress enough how amazing the staff were. They were very compassionate to our concerns and helped in any way they could. I would highly recommend staying here due to the staff. Location was perfect for dinner at "The Plank" and our trip to Sussex for the Balloon Festival.

Friendly, excellent service. Enjoyed the pool and hottub. Also had a guest laundry area which was much appreciated.

The front desk was slow, rude and incompetent. Really do not think the front desk staff is well matched to the service industry and really should be replaced unfortunately. I have to admit this was the worst I've experienced in any city or with any competing accommodation provider. Would avoid this hotel completely.

I acknowledge the owner's response to my review. However, this response mentions requirement for a photo ID and credit card. Neither of which are related to subject of my complaint. I will wait to hear back regarding my formal complaint with Wyndham.

The staff was friendly and the accommodations were lovely. Rooms were clean. Staff was quick and effective.

Stayed there 02/18/23. No remote for TV, stains on bedding. Checked out next day, they charged us for the stains that were already there & they knew about. Front desk staff, cleaning staff all incompetent. Perhaps when you put bedding on a bed, make sure it's clean, instead of charging guests for your incompetence. Will never stay there again.

Bring your own towels for shower and pool. They are perpetually out of towels. Better yet stay elsewhere.

I travel across Atlantic provinces and have stayed at multiple hotels. This property has nicely renovated rooms and the best part is their amazing breakfast. So much better than other hotels including other Days Inn hotels.

Nice room which was clean. Friendly staff. However no hot water for the shower, no tv remote in the room. At breakfast they were out of most items.

Was in for a pool? For a birthday. Very clean and a lot of upgrades. Well worth a stop in. AWESOME

We checked in on a Friday and was greeted by friendly staff, we ended up needing some utensils and a bottle opener and they were quick to help us out. You have complimentary coffee and tea for your whole stay.
We went to the pool and the hot tub and enjoyed both.
We checked out on Sunday and enjoyed our weekend. Would recommend

It's has great rooms it's dated halfway an dingy color resemble a jail, worse address in city don't go outside to the Irving store as it is not safe to walk around.at night and is dangerous on city Rd.lock car SUV truck and stay safe.key cards make sure you check it because 5 trips around the building to the desk at night is well a pain an inconvenient.

Room was spacious and clean, at a great rate. The bed was very comfortable. The whole premises was very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend Days Inn Saint John.

First time visiting Saint John for work. I stayed in a king room as it was the last room available as there were many groups that weekend.

The staff upon checking in were great and friendly. If you need to check in early, I suggest you call in before hand to make sure your rooms ready or you’ll end up waiting in the lobby, but this was not the case for me.

Heading up the room was ok. No elevators for anyone who has luggage on wheels as you’re going up a flight of stairs. The room was really spacious and clean. Not much storage in the drawers if you’re sharing a room, but it was great for a weekend stay if you packed light.

I didn’t sleep well all weekend as the room is near a staircase and lots of kids were running at around 6am on one of the days. As they head down the stairs the door kept slamming behind them everytime. There should be a sign on the door so it doesn’t disrupt those near the staircase. There were trains on another night passing by so I could only try to sleep after I heard the last one go. The location of this Inn wasn’t well thought out.

Breakfast was decent for what it was. They provided omelets, sausage, pancakes, instant oatmeal, breads and variety of drinks, definitely a money saver. I do agree with other reviews where there is no flow so when there are many people going to eat, it’s a cluster of people.

The area is a 15 min walk from restaurants, the gas station and convenience store which is great. Be prepared to walk some hills getting uptown though!

Overall the experience was good but could’ve been better if the room was more sound proof as I can hear so much noise from outside the door, the window and the door connecting to the other room. It was really an inconvenience trying to rest after a work. I’d try to stay elsewhere next time.

You can’t sleep because the doors slam against the frame for each room. In the morning everyone leaves and it’s slam, slam, slam, slam, slam, slam, slam, slam.

Be a okay spot to spend a night with your kids while traveling if it wasn't filled with escorts

Visited while on vacation with family of four, kids 12 and 14. Front desk staff seemed inexperienced but helpful. Place felt a bit run down on the whole. Breakfast experience was not great due to the design of the breakfast counter creating bottlenecks. Very nice pool and hot tub though! The room was clean and spacious, but very dark, not enough lighting. Saint John on the whole was not a great place to visit, waterfront under construction, not much to do.

I had adjoining for two nights, They were very damp to the point that everything we brought into the room was damp when we left. We are currently washing and drying all of our closets at our next hotel because everything is damp. I tried turning off the AC and opening the windows but that didn't help much. The floors were absolutely filthy. Our children walked through the room after using the pool so I put a towel on the floor and walked along to dry up the floor "click in wood" the towel was black after I dried the floor. The space between the adjoining rooms hasn't been cleaned and if you open the window you can see those are not cleaned either. The beds are a hazard as they are sharp and stick out.

The outside doesn't match the inside.inside is what makes you feel better would recommend to stay but would explain to people don't let the location be the deal sealer.

Parking is terrible room's are big and the furniture is lackluster and channels do not work most of the time but it is a no smoking hotel the pool has a lot of chemicals and stings your eyes but service is great

Hard to describe accurately.building smelled stale/damp and like smoke in some parts, and it was across from an ambulance station which made for a lot of siren noise. Staff was mostly friendly, breakfast was good. No elevators made bringing luggage to the room tricky. Not horrible, but not great.

Location was fine and front staff was friendly but the room I stayed in was not satisfactory for me. Maybe I'm being very picky, but bathroom was an issue for me. For someone being on the tall side, I found the bath tub too small, my head was above the shower head and the shower curtain rod was below my eye level. Also, there was some black or dark spots on the sheets. If I visit St John's again I would try to find a better hotel

I say this whole heartedly, this hotel is the grossest hotel i have ever been to and it truly shows how little they care about their residents.the floors were dirty, sticky, the pool was disgusting, the hot tub had brown spots in it.when we put our bare feet on the ground they were literally black and brown from pure dirt. And the kicker is, their customer service is just as bad as their rooms.me and some ladies were there for a bachelorette party so we were out until 2am and were locked out of our room as our cards weren’t working.they sent us at least THREE TIMES to get new cards and the last time when i asked the guy to come down to help us he said “ if they don’t work again, come get me and i’ll come up”.
again, this was after MULTIPLE rounds of going there and back from the lobby to the room and we were exhausted. This was unacceptable and i’m telling anyone who will listen to me to never come here.i’m not sure if they are incompetent or just lazy but suffice to say, we won’t be back. I highly recommend the Delta or best Western if
you want an actual good quality room with good service

The rooms are normal size. Was expecting a little bit bigger. The hotel is totally renovated, looks very clean.
The staff is helpful and friendly. We would come again.

The floors in our room were dirty, the bubbles in the hot tub were ~brown~ the bathroom drain was clogged with hair, and the key cards for our room stopped working in the middle of the night. Overall not a good experience.

Not a bad place, really. Clean, simple.
My only complaint was that the pool deck wasn't safe at all. Has tiles, very easy to slip.

Hotel rooms are decent recently renovated. Couple of first world problems like I was in a room on the back side of the hotel lots of train noise, only real issue I had during my stay was the shower water pressure and temperature was very low.

I stayed here for a couple nights as I was moving into the city. I found the room I stayed in to be clean and the staff to be friendly. Good experience.

I stayed here with my family for a little get away, although it was not enjoyable. There is not much to do in here. I was super excited to use the pool and hot tub but there is grime and dead skin cells along the sides of the pool and hot tub. Super disappointed

It was good but if you live in Saint John they charge you a deposit of 250 which there was nothing telling me that when I booked so that was a bit annoying, also there was no book with information in the room so I tried to call the front desk and ask about their breakfast but they didn’t answer the phone lol and the room was quite small but other than that everything else was nice

Its new so almost look clean untill you realy check. De remote loomed like somone vomited on it and was never clean there was long black peaces of hair in the washroom it cant of been mine cus i got buzz cut brown haire. And there was a gaz or sewage leak in hotel i call manager and they absolutly did not do enithing so i had to call a gaz compagnie thene the firefighters i only got to go to bed a 2am and i was working for 7am worst stay of my life so far in all hotels ive been in and i have been in a lot of hotels. I do not recomende this hotel at all!

Was checked into a room with a dirty toilet in the middle of a pandemic, it was very off-putting. The hot tub was disgusting and when we went to make coffee in our room, the coffee machine wouldn’t work. Overall the experience wasn’t great and we wouldn’t come back.

I booked the suite for 1 Saturday night. I had a friend visiting from Alberta. When I reserved the room I was never told there was a deposit of $250. When I checked in. I was told I needed to leave a deposit of $250. So the front desk said I could switch the reservation over to my friends name because she was from out of town and there would only be a $50 deposit. I thought great let's do that. So I ended up leaving $100 cash deposit b/c I didnt have change. Well my friend and I went out drinking and the front desk called and harrassed me all night while we were out. I had 5 missed calls from them and 2 voicemails telling me I needed to come in and fix this asap. We had to leave our night out and go to the hotel. This older lady who was about 4 feet tall. Was very rude and the same one that was calling me non stop. Not one employee there knew the right rules for deposits. I kept getting told something different. Daysinn defienlty needs to train their employees better so they are all on the same page and stop harassing and telling guests all different information. Doesnt look very good for someone from out of town. I will not be back.

It appears it got a new make over. It is close to a lot of amenities even in walking distance. Check in was fast and the breakfast was ok.

Place is nice and clean. But Idk if the front desk are working for the first time. I got room 133 and asked for the ice machine. They made me walk all the way to the other building while there is one in my building. Also, they don't know how to work the credit machine. Took a couple of tries before they were successful.

Worst experience at a hotel ever. Over an hour to check in. No where in any confirmation emails did it state that if using debit that there was a 250$ deposit per room. Never booking with days inn again.

Normally my family and I stay in St. Stephens but we tried the Days Inn in St. Johns instead. The rooms were large and clean, the free internet was excellent and the complimentary breakfast was superb! The hotel staff were very pleasant!

Good and friendly customer service. The room was clean although the TV was not working. Breakfast had reasonable options. The outside of the building could use some renovation.

This is a crazy good deal. I'm traveling with my two teenage sons and the fact that I was able to get two room for the same price I've paid for one at other locations is amazing.in addition to that, the service was great and they moved us to adjoining rooms without being asked.the rooms are spacious, they have smart TVs and the beds are comfy.this is an excellent place to stay if you're heading to Saint John

Had low expectations, yet this place went above and beyond them! Had a super modern and spacious room. Nice service, amazing breakfast (one of the BEST scrambled eggs). Overall, 5/5.

Hotel ok, sans plus. L'odeur dans l'hôtel est ordinaire, même dans les chambre. La piscine est vrmt moins bien entretenue que sur les photos mise en ligne, les chambres sont petites et le lit minimalement confortable.

For the price, it can't be beat. The Inn's atmosphere and decor was quite modern and looked fairly new. There was the pool and hot tub and fitness centre. Each room was clean and had a bathtub and the service was good. The breakfast included in the room was also more than just your typical continental breakfast and had pancakes, cereal, to go bags, various drinks and more. I was right next to one of the doors, so there was a bit of noise, but for being right next to trains, there really wasn't any noise besides that of guests coming and going.

The pool water is never sanitized properly. Hotel is nice and friendly but adding the maximum dosage of chlorine to hotub and pool is recommended. Especially with the spread of such viruses.

We had no heat inn the room.told the front desk they said we they were haveing trouble inn this room then why put us inn there.breakfast wasn't cooked went to another inn much better

We stayed here over the weekend with our hockey team, the whole experience was ok.but it was not worth the price we paid for the issues we had.

Rooms were nice, newly renovated with comfy beds.

Bathroom was nice, deep tub.my inlaws said thier bathroom was dirty though, they rushed to clean it after accidentally cancelling the reservation and not having a room for them.

Several kids cut themselves in the pool, apparently a kid on another team needed stitches. My 6yr old sliced open the bottom of his foot on our first day. Other then a bandaid and we will take a look.nothing much was done.

Breakfast was good, kids liked the pancakes and they had juice and coffee out all day.

We had people smoking in the room next to us, the kids saw them and you could smell it all through the hallway. We told front desk who knocked on the door a few times but no one answered. My kids were coughing and hacking, my husband quit 3 yrs ago and didnt enjoy the strong smell, it gave us a headach. The next morning it was way more obvious and we complained again and nothing was done. We asked to speak to a manager and the ladies at the desk couldnt seem to give us any info and didnt deal with the issue at all as the smokers were enjoying thier breakfast in the lobby.

Lady at the desk had no idea how to check me in, she charged the wrong card after telling me I couldnt use it.just overall confusing.

The whole thing was ok.not worth the $130 a night we were charged.

Edit to add: Thanks for the reply, my son did not cut himself from jumping, he is 6 and wearing a life jacket, he said it was the stairs. Another mom I talked with also said stairs. So you may want to check there. I read another post from December about another kid cutting themselves so it's clearly an issue. One we have never had anywhere we stayed when our kids were jumping. I understand you are in the process if redoing things and it all takes time, I gave very honest feedback and I hope you learn from it.

Great value for price! Newly renovated, clean room, basic breakfast and amenities. Service was awesome. If you’re looking for somewhere to just stay I highly recommend this hotel.

Had to go back to front desk 4 times because keys not work.then had to change rooms and not the room i had booked.

Nice clean room. Hotel been completely renovated. Indoor pool, hot tub and small gym facility. Nice clean lobby with bar. The only downside is the bar only offer beer and cooler.

Don't let this hotels history change your opinion. They have totally redone this hotel, not just a fresh coat of paint, all the rooms have been gutted and redone. Honestly, I've stayed at many Days Inn before, I was shocked how clean and modern this location was. I WILL return everytime I'm in Saint John. If you need a clean place to crash with a comfortable bed and clean sheets, this is your place I tell ya.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Only thing was location, not the nicest part of town but the inn was clean.

Overall not a bad stay. Outside looks like a penitentiary. Friendly staff but pool is run down and so much dead skin cells along the sides. Chlorine burned my eyes so bad and my 2 kids both started throwing up once they sat by the side of hot tub. Rooms are a little gloomy and pillows were so uncomfortable. I didn’t mind the breakfast. It was Very decent for the price of hotel. Overall, it was not a bad stay and quiet but wouldn’t be my first choice.
