After hearing about all the espestis and mold in the hidden areas from a member of the cad government IT dep I'll go to oromocto from now on

. Horrible hospital. Slashed 3 fingers open with saw and didn’t get triaged after 1.5 hours. Sat in waiting room hand numb and blood gushing down. It’s absolutely disgusting. We need a public inquiry into public hospitals to see where the money is going and to ensure that the executive staff are acting in the interests of tax payers rather their own self interests.

I feel so weird reviewing a hospital, but I've had so many bad experiences with the staff there I just have to share this. I called the main line on November 27th at 6: 14 pm to confirm a bloodwork appointment. The female phone attendant was extremely rude for no good reason. First she tried to tell me to call a blood clinic after not listening or caring at all about why I was calling. Finally she agreed that I needed to speak to the bloodwork scheduler but she refused to provide the number for central scheduling! She told me to " Google it" and then she hung up on me! Extremely unprofessional. I wish I got her name before she hung up on me I would've filed a complaint. It's sad that the Chalmers cannot staff people that can show basic courtesy to patients. Just embarrassing.

I’ve received better care from one of the brilliant life gaurds at the Fredericton indoor pool. And they are better looking

My granddaughter has been in this hospital for 5 days, passed around from doctor to doctor and still in pain. They can’t decide what to do as she is a child, her gallbladder has stones and they won’t remove them.

The worst hospital I have ever been to in my life! Ignorant, condescending, rude, heartless staff! Refused to give my type one diabetic daughter insulin when we had run out at 2am in the morning. Reminded me before I left that it was my responsibility to get her insulin…. Like I didn’t know that… sent my daughter away with no help! Wouldn’t even call peds like I asked.

Here's the reality! Yes, emergency room is not emergency for sure! 14-16 hours wait with 9 months old won't work! Unfortunately or fortunately we got here by ambulance and I must say all the doctors and nurses that work here are super heroes! And I'm sure if you ever (God forbid) get here you will be taken care of!

Took someone to ER last evening for depression and anxiety. I was shocked how quick she was triaged and taken into quiet room. Assessed immediately by LPN Ashley who was quick to update family while or was being seen by Dr VanMiddlesworth. I cannot say enough good things the patient was hesitant to go due to expected long wait times. Thank you for all you excellent care!

I came into the emergency room for an open gouge on my knee that needed stitches and to be cleaned as it was made by a broken tree branch.they took a look without cleaning it and told me i need stitches.two hours later it’s 10pm.i asked the nurse how much longer as i can’t drive past 12am.they said it would be another hour and a half.as i wouldn’t be able to make it home legally, i asked them to do something and they refused to stitch it or clean it as i had to wait.they sent me home with some disinfectant wipes and a wrap.i booked a doctors appointment with my family doctor for them to take a took at it 3 days after my visit at the er and by the time i got to them, my knee had become infected.

Would give zero stars if possible. Have attempted going here 3 times. Each and every time they have been absolutely useless with the exception of one nurse once who was very kind and agreed that the doctor wasnt making an effort to do his job. Today my daughter was brought by ambulance this morning with what the paramedic thought was appendicitis. They have left her in the waiting room and she is still there 6 hours later. No help with pain.no help with anything. This hospital is an absolute disgusting disgrace to the medical field. Zero stars. Useless.

2 days in a row sitting 12 hrs waiting and waiting and waiting. Unbelievable! Hire back the people you "suspended" you incompetent quacks!

Takes a lot of time to attend to you I don't blame them; emergency cases are top priority

I visited the emergency department in November 2022 and it was busy, yes, and I was triaged appropriately and seen and out the door in 6 hours. It may seem long to many, but it was reasonable to my care required. The hospital staff, nurses and doctor were A+. Since then, I had recent pain and undiagnosed condition. Went to emergency and they checked all the big risk items for a woman my age and with the symptoms I had. I did return the next day with additional symptoms and the triage nurse quickly assessed and sent me for diagnostic tests. I would like to note that all of the staff, nurses, doctor assistants, doctors, and surgeons were absolutely amazing. It was not just for me. I witnessed such care and tenderness in treating everyone. My hope is for the hospital to get more funding to continue to grow and meet the needs of all that rely on these caregivers.

My husband and I are still at emergency. We came in at noon for my husband to get a prescription refilled. We are still here 14 hours later. He still is waiting. It’s 2 am in morning. He will be a five minute appt. Just ludicrous.

The staff here are some of the hardest working people I've ever met. There are always exceptions to the rules, and always some that aren't as wonderful, but in my experience, everyone is working their hardest WITH THE TOOLS AND RESOURCES they are given (limited)

My 2.5-year-old daughter has been experiencing a 106-degree Fahrenheit fever for the last four days, and she has already consumed two bottles of both Advil and Tylenol. We visited the emergency room, where she continued to be extremely cranky and complained of abdominal pain along with her high fever. We waited there for 12 hours, during which they only administered Tylenol and Advil every four hours, but her turn to see the doctor never came. It's a shame that the medical facility is even worse than a third-world country.

Waited 5 hours at night with severe pain. Met with the doctor in the hallway, without even looking at me he told me to take take 600mg Tylenol and Advil at the same time.

WORST HOSPITAL

Went to the ER with my partner who was experiencing SEVERE vomiting for 3 days and an allergic reaction (hives) from an unknown cause. We were the 2nd people to be triaged but ended up having to leave after 7 HOURS because they were seeing people first who seemed perfectly comfortable waiting on their phones. They just kept shooting him up with benadryl in the waiting room which made him throw up more (and we already told them benadryl was making him sicker when we got there.) A nurse also rudely told us if he experienced anaphylactic shock the night before "he would already be dead" which is wildly untrue. This hospital chooses favorites and barely knows what the hell theyre even talking about.

Both times I've been there I wasn't even seen, even after over 10 hours and sitting there feeling anxious about my condition. Ended up just making an appointment with a nurse practitioner. It was wildly frustrating to sit there over 10 hours not being seen and crying every now and again because of how scared I was with what I xand in for.

The worst surgical unit ever. There is no empathy or compassion to patients. There is a major disconnect and lack of experienced nurses in this unit.

The people that works in there, does a great job on everything, I can't espress in words on my gratitude for them.

I had my baby 3 months ago at Dr. Everett Chalmers hospital and it was a wonderful experience! Big thank you to all labour and delivery ward staff.

After 13 hours of waiting, 2 and a half hours spent in a room itself, my partner was not checked on, tended to or even saw a Dr. People who had arrived after him got seen and sent on their way before him. The DECH is pathetic and they did not care when they left either. Didn't stop or check on my partner at all. Save yourself the trouble and just drive to Halifax, you'll be seen faster than you would if you spent time here.

The nurses and the doctor were so kind and careful when I came there. Even though the waiting time was a bit long, my abdominal pain was treated kindly.

They are absolutely ridiculous there. My partner went in for possible internal bleeding and is currently on their 6th hour of waiting. At this point I wish i called an ambulance because at least then my partner would have someone look at them sooner. People who came in AFTER my partner were tended to first, we are lucky my partner stopped throwing up now but when they got there they threw up and nobody even asked if they were okay. On top of this we have to pay for parking when my partner isn’t even being tended to. I know New Brunswick’s medical field is short staffed but for god sakes, 6 hours for possible internal bleeding? I’m beyond mad and annoyed, my partner hasn’t even seen a nurse at the very least. This isn’t the first time we’ve had to wait for forever either and we aren’t the only ones. I’ve never seen such bad emergency room services before, this is truly the worst I’ve seen
