Gahan House Hub City

Had reservations for four at “Gahan House Hub City” this evening and found the food, service and atmosphere excellent.
Our orders included Fish & Chips, Haddock Tacos, House Burger, Beef with Vegetables and all entrees were very delicous and beautifully plated. We all were extremely pleased with all aspects of our meal experience and will recommend favourably.

I got the queso pretzel dip last time I came here & it was delicious so I was excited to get it again but they changed the recipe and it was trash lol, chunky dry microwaved cheese dip is what it felt like, super disappointed

Horrible service.server took one of our family members plate while they were still chewing and had a full plate left.will definitely never be coming back

Went here for a drag brunch with a friend. Food and service was great, but we were seated in a booth with high walls facing away from the drag performancers. I had to sit up on the booth wall just to see what was happening! Other people were seated in booths as well and were also struggling to see any of the queens. Disappointed considering we paid 80$ for each ticket. And there were other empty seats! Why would be directed to the worst seats in the restaurant when there were better, empty ones? And there was no option to select our own spots when we bought the tickets. 80$ for a show we could hardly see.

Our server was excellent. The apps were ok and the entrees were not very good. Only one of our group of six really liked their main.

By far the worst experience at a restaurant, the steak was the toughest thing to chew on, full of tough grizzle, had to ask for him to take my water away 3 times because I did not want it, the server took a plate away when we were not even finished, asked for well done on both steaks and when they finally showed up they were medium rare.there was 6 of us there and more than half of the food was not ate because it was so horrible, will I recommend this place? No.will I be back. No.oh and when I was eating one of the woman servers came to our table and pushed my food away while I was eating to put down three small plates with napkins on them. I've been here a few times and noticed a couple patterns.

First, I stood at the host stand for about 10-15 mins before anybody acknowledged my presence. It wasn't busy and multiple tables were open. This has happened each time I've been here and it's weird.

Second, the food is not very good. I noticed many dishes sitting under the heat lamp getting soggy because the manager clearly did not staff enough workers for the day. Maybe the food was good when it came out of the kitchen, but it wasn't by the time it got to me.

The atmosphere is pretty nice and everybody working there is friendly, so I don't know who else to blame but management.

This place could be really nice, but it isn't. Save your money, and go elsewhere.

Impressive presentation on my lentil salad. Tasted better than it looked if that is possible. Top notch waiter.

Went for lunch with my dad on a Sunday. Wasn't busy but still took a long time to receive our beer and food. Was never asked how our meal was. Chicken burger was too spicy for my dad's girlfriend so she left most of it - menu doesn't even mention it being spicy. Weird atmosphere overall and *meh* food.

Came here on a work trip with employees was treated horribly by a dark haired waitress with long pink nails who snapped them in our face after an order she placed incorrectly and blamed us. Will never return and will be telling every single person I know about this place.

We had a really lovely lunch at Gahan. The beer was delightful, but the real surprise was just how good their hard root beer was. I am now obsessed and was heartbroken that they didn’t have it available in cans in Moncton (although I hear that could possibly change this year? Here’s hoping!). Our table tried the fried chicken sandwich, beef melt and fish & chips, and we each enjoyed our choices. I personally had the fish & chips and I know it’s somewhat of a “basic” choice, but they really stood out amongst other restaurants. They had that big batter, greasy look but it ended up being not greasy at all, and it turned out that it wasn’t a bunch of batter, but a bunch of delicious fish! I’m so used to being fooled by batter, but no, you really got a good amount of fish for the price. And the fries – whoooo boy the fries – perfectly fried! Crispy exterior, tender interior, seasoned. To wrap up this review, I also have to mention that the service we had was equally fantastic. They were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We are definitely looking forward to another visit soon!

The food did not disappoint, had the taco pan fried fish meal and it delivered. Nice atmosphere and connected to the Hilton if you are staying there.

Rude server tonight, very disrespectful attitude. Snapping her Fingers in my fave because SHE GOT MY MEAL WRONG.

Booked this place for a group of 15 to 20 co-workers, and they placed us at a long table with was excellent. Overall the food was great, and no one had complaints except, for some of the dishes like the Bowls which did not have enough sauce, most vegetarians that took that dish had to ask for a side of sauce to add. I took their burgers and it was good just a bit dry compared to my preference (I prefer my meat well done typically so I'm used to it) but nothing to complain about, their fries are amazing with the seasoning they have on them. For a large group, they did amazing as all the food was coming out at the same time and everyone received what they ordered so no missed orders. Our waitress was extremely nice, I would come back here. If you love fish, my suggestion is to get there Brown Bag Fish and Chip as everyone at the table that took this one loved it.

The hard root beer is dangerous. Bring a designated driver if you get into it. Coconut curry was fantastic.

The place has an interesting atmosphere and comfortable seatings. The service was nice but the food was mediocre.the Double Trouble burgers were had more heat than expected. The meat felt dry. The Calamari appetizer was pretty good though.

Did not try their oysters but they did look decent.

The food was good although the menu advertised that cauliflower tacos were made with crispy buffalo cauliflower, but they didn’t have buffalo sauce. Besides that, the poutine and brownie dessert were delicious and the service we got was good! I will definitely be back.

Food amazing! Service spectacular! I come here once a week with my wife - noticed they hired all new kitchen staff… have to say I’m not impressed

I went to the Gahan house and we both got the burgers with seasoned fries. The fries were great and the burger had a lot to it, in a great way. I will admit we had one bad experience but the general manager was quick to reach out to us and improve the experience for the next time we visited. I would recommend getting the burger and giving this place a try. The management is wonderful and the waiter we had tonight was very nice and checked up on us to make sure we had what we need.

Fish and chips were really good. Service top knotch. I will definitely be visiting this spot again on my next trip back.

I don’t know if it was just with our group or whether they had problems that night. Went with my work colleagues and surprisingly the brewery only had half the beers on the menu. They were short staffed so had to wait for food but kudos to staff for managing so well. Food itself was alright maybe because being busy on that night. Hopefully it’s better next time. They are okay for the location nothing big to be fair.

It was good, atmosphere was amazing, server was great, food was good. Idk maybe my tastes aren’t sophisticated enough. I will probably go back though, first time there. May try something else.

The draft beer was almost non-carbonated and the Irish coffee was unacceptable, watery, whiskey? , no whipped cream and was cold.

Our server Jack was so lovely. He brought my husband and I a dessert for our anniversary as a suprise. Such wonderful person to have on their team.

This was my third time here. This time I had the steak and fries which was 24$ and you don't have the choice of other sides. The meal really wasn't that great. But the other 2 times it was.

This was my 4th time their. I had the burger meal with fries and very good. I went for a business meeting this time and my company was impressed.

Wonderful experience; the risotto was excellent. The chicken that I had added, was juicy and a beautiful sear, with just the right amount of char.
Beer was as expected, delicious.

On a recent outing to this restaurant I have to commend the waitress for her professionalism and
pleasantness. Three at our table took the. “ special”. A cornbread crusted haddock with warm potato salad
Now in my books a potato salad is NOT 12 oven roasted oven potatoes cooked god knows when but they were miserable. All the other vegetables were over also cooked (yesterday?)
We were told this meal was to be tried out in all the regional restaurants in the Maritimes …. Well please do not serve it again.

Sunday brunch - food was quite good, portions decent. Nice to have gluten-free options for one of our group. Despite having 2 servers for 3 to 4 occupied tables, service was a bit sluggish to be greeted on arrival and waited longer than necessary to get our bill.

Our first time at Gahan House and we loved it! The fish cake appetizer was delicious. My wife had the fish and chips and thought it was the best on the city. I had the coconut curry chicken which was amazing. The atmosphere was pleasant and our server was excellent. We will be back.

Nice place and servers but the food was not up to par with the price. Ordered the fish and chips and my fries were not fresh also the fish needed the help from the tartar sauce. Had the wings no flavor tasted frozen and covered in the sauce.

First time visit. Food was great. Have to say on the top now for a place to eat when we visit Moncton

Server double charged me for an order, phones restaurant multiple times and the manager was never “available” had to dispute with my bank. Good food bad service

I was here with a group of coworkers. Service was very good, no complaints there. The food, however, was not super fantastic.everyone at the table had at least one complaint about the quality of their chosen dish.

Maybe it was just that night but 2 of the people at my table sent the food back, it was so busy and they were short staff so the wait was ridiculous just to get our order put in.

First time there. A bit rocky in the beginning but they made things right.
It was a good atmosphere and a semi chic dress at night.
They have a good system for wait times. You get a text message when your table is ready.
I found the service overall to be friendly and professional. The food was quite good and we had no complaints.
They made up for any shortcomings they might of had on a very busy night which was more than generous. When I am back in moncton i will step in for a drink or dinner.
On an other note, their craft brew is good. I always respect places that take the initiative to create their own brew and serve up a great dining experience.

Poor food quality, feels like precooked, frozen then thawed and brought out. Long wait times, unmatched by the food’s quality.

Always a great time! Anissa and Greg are so pleasant and helpful. My girlfriend and I go there quite often and they know us by name and always treat us very well.

Great patio, solid menu and really great beer. You can't all for much more. The poutine had a generous amount of gravy and rich flavor. Our favorite beer is the stout, but they have a good Brown ale on occasion which is worth a try.

Great food, good beer and our server was extremely patient with our red headed friend.highly recommended.

First time at Gahan Hub City and it was a good experience. The Charcuterie was a good option for starting out with and then the Steak Frites was a really nice main. Clearly a frozen steak that's been thawed and cooked, but still not bad. The fries were house-cut and they were good but the downside is you get a lot of ends and not enough fries with a lot of meat on them if you take my meaning. Enjoyed a wonderful glass of Makers Mark bourbon for an aperitif.

One of the most disappointing meals I’ve had to date. We waited 1.15 hours for our food. I ordered the Pretzel Bites as an appetizer along with the Steak Frites as my main. What a let down.the Pretzel Bites were pieces of bread. I ordered my steak medium well and received rare. It’s really not that difficult to cook a sub par piece of steak medium well. When we first arrived the server didn’t acknowledge our table for probably 15 minutes. The restaurant wasn’t really busy. I’m not sure what the hold up was. I definitely won’t be returning. If your kitchen is ever hiring let me know. My 5 year old son can cook a steak better than the one I received.

Fresh baked nachos & veggie salsa with sour cream.
Fruit salad with real goat cheese topped with dressing & herbs topped with a vinaigrette sauce.
Note if u want real oyster taste dont go for the baked oyster option it's meant for people who dont have a seafood pallet.

I wasnt that impressed actually. I ordered the blueberry ale and couldnt taste any hint of blueberries at all. Then the crab dip tasted good, but was runny. The seafood chowder was a disgrace! I sent half a bowl creme back, had one tiny scallop, 2 tiny pcs salmon. & I never add salt to my food & shouldnt have to with seafood but even two shakes salt didnt help. Nice creamy broth, mostly celery& potato and onion! The dessert was deep fried mars bars.the bars were delicious but the deep fried waffle sticks were too hard to bite into.

Food was ok, i order Fish 'n Chip. The fish tasted fresh, not frozen. The beer selection was all PEI Brewing, no guest taps. I am a bit disappointed that I messaged them a few weeks ago inquiring about secure bicycle parking on site, and still no response.meh.

A modern and spacious place with very friendly staff. The beer is good. Food is okay but quite limited in choices.

I've been a few times. The food, regardless of the time of day is fabulous, very tasty. The last time I went for an event reserved outside. The food and service as usual was top notch. The area reserved was not adequate for a crowd, especially on a hot sunny day. No shade. I will continue to come, I love the vibe here, but will be wary of an outdoor (patio) event for a crowd.

I’ve been there twice. I enjoyed my experience and the staff was very professional. The food was awesome. My experience was not disappointing. I will definitely be going again. Love the atmosphere, very relaxing.

Our waitress was friendly, helpful and attentive. The ambience was good and the restaurant was clean and attractive. Our appetizer platter was good - especially the cheeses. My mac and cheese with bacon was OK but I can do better at home. The cheese flavour was a bit weak, and the bacon pieces were really small and not all that flavourful. My hubby said his fish & chips were very average - OK but nothing special. We both really enjoyed the lemon tart. He enjoyed 2 different beers and I had a nice Sauvignon blanc. Overall, it was a good meal, but not a great meal.

We were very excited to hear this was coming to Moncton! We waited to go to give them time to stabilize. The patio was not open when we went and it was a beautiful summer day in June. The waitress did not know the menu or the drink specials. We were quite disappointed. Charlottetown location rocks!

We have given this location 3 chances and I am sad to say all of them have been terrible. This seems to be a management issue as the servers are extremely friendly.

Went here last week with my husband and our little 2 month old. Such a great experience, even the manager came by to check on us and see if everything was fine. Our server was great and very friendly. The food was amazing, this is by far one of the best restaurants in Moncton. Actually taking my friend there today.thé biscuit that came with the mussels was amazingggg

A group of about 20 coworkers (all in the food and beverage industry- servers, bartenders, restaurant managers) "booked" a table a few weeks in advance at Gahan House. We were told when we called to book that they couldn't do formal reservations yet as they had just opened, but still took note of our group and placed an informal reservation. When we arrived, our group was seated at two seperate tables. There was a room off to the side with one large table that we asked if we could switch to but were told they did not have the staff to accommodate, even though it was only a few feet away and the same number of people. When we suggested pushing tables together, they seemed unwilling to accommodate.
On the plus side, drinks and food were served quite fast. It would have been helpful to have two servers present to take payments considering the side of the group. The atmosphere was very comfortable and the beer was fantastic - especially the raspberry sour.
Overall, considering the amount of money our group spent in total and the notice we have the restaurant, it would have been appreciated to have been able to all sit together for our staff night.
