Hilton Saint John

The Hilton is certainly not the nicest or the cheapest place to stay in Saint John. Even the pleasant and helpful staff can not make up for the fact that the rooms really need renovating, the a/c didn't really work. The room was warm and stuffy and then to finally get stung with a $57 parking charge for the two night stay was the final straw (check the small print before booking). If you have to stay in Saint John I would seriously recommend The Delta just over the road. A beautiful hotel, great staff and free parking. Sorry Hilton but you are a serious disappoint.

Overnight stay before joining a cruise. Very helpful reception staff.
Chris helped me to order a travel adaptor which was delivered to the hotel in 2hrs. I needed this for medical equipment. Very impressed with his knowledge and help to order it. Food in the dining room was good. Hot food on cold plates is a not acceptable for me, this happened again in the morning
Air con plus cold plates made the food cold before I finished eating. Lovely waiting staff and food served quickly. An enjoyable night's stay.

Booked a room the day before our stay and it was about 350 Canadian dollars. The room was dirty beat up smelly and there's way more to say but I wouldn't stay here unless I have to. The staff however worth of gem of this hotel!

The location of the hotel is very nice, the staff is good, the food is good, the service is high quality

Rooms are horrible, smell is terrible and service is inexistant. A/C didn’t worked and reception told me technicians was gone for the night. No lounge on site and no parking as advertised. They absolutely don’t care about customers and hilton honors. I will never go back.

Nice view clean room but my shower didnt work right. I mentioned it and got 2 free drinks. I tried to get some mimosas with breakfast and they didnt serve them which i found odd.

As an artist visiting Saint John on business, I requested an upper level room with a city view. The front desk staff gave us great assistance to meet this request, and their good cheer and help was superior. Upon arrival in the room I found the view of the city which met my dream. We had an excellent stay in the city, the hotel location being close enough for us to walk to every thing we wished to do in the Uptown area. The room was clean, the bed comfortable. There was some intermittent mechanical noise, but we were on the 12th floor and I imagine being on a lower floor this would be less likely to intrude or, if you are like me and my wife and can sleep through anything then this wouldn't be a problem. All I can say about the room, the staff, and the location is Wow!

The rooms were clean and the views are nice but the rooms are pretty dated for the price. Location is great though.

The bed headboards were ripped off. Not very inviting! And I found the rooms mediocre. Missing a bit of life to them. Aside from that, staff, harbor view and accessibility to the city was good.

Room was filthy had to request a new room. Over charge for parking and over charge for internet access. This was after waiting In the lobby for 30 minutes in line.

Staff went above and beyond to make this a great stay. Very friendly and helpful. Views are great and close to alot of local spots.

The room was clean but price to high parking extra $18.00 plus breakfast over $40.00 extra. We are seniors with no offer of help with bags are not told where to find trolly to make it easier. Service is not what it use to be but your spending a lot more money. So overall not the best experience but location great

Hard to believe this is Hilton, dirty looking dark room, even though paid for harbour view, the view was kind of sideways through dirty small window. Pre-paid for breakfast, about 1.5 hours wait every day, basic thing like bagel was not available. Needed hot water for medical condition but no coffee maker or kettle. After asking twice, dusty dirty coffee maker arrived but no cups to boil the water into. You may think COVID times the coffee maker would have been sterilized, nope, covered with dust and dirt.
Travelled the world, have never stayed at any place of that low quality.
2 stars, because the location was good.

Nice view. Amazing boardwalk right by the hotel. Close to everything uptown has to offer. The guest room itself was not up-to par with the brand.

Overwhelming smell of dog and dampness in the room. Unable to stay in room without AC on full blast. No breakfast in hotel. Can't park SUVs in the parking garage as the roof is too low. I highly suggest booking another site if cleanliness matters to you.

Aucune instruction en arrivant sur les procédure, air climatisé dans la chambre à de la difficulté à rafraichir. Que dire du resto bar. Manque de personnel, incapable de faire cuire un oeuf bénédictine, 1: 30 hr avoir un déjeuner et le soir une seul serveuse qu'ont ne voit jamais. Dernière fois ici domage l'emplaeent est bien.

During these Covid times this hotel was great. The staff friendly and welcoming.
It was very disturbing to hear a guest yelling at the front desk about not enough breakfast items out when there was so much. The kitchen staff kept everything fresh. Would definitely here again!

Surprisingly enough, this was not a good visit to what is normally an excellent Hotel chain. I chose to help me pay an extra couple dollars to have a nice room to stay in. When I got there the toilet tank was running constantly the shower tub drain filled up and I was ankle high in water when showering, the ac htg fan coil motor bearing sounded like it was ready to go and made a lot of noise, the door to the room stuck and have to pull/push hard to close it all the way, the room.had a funk smell to it when I arrived, and two of the electrical room plug did not work no matter what I plugged into it so I was limited to recharge my electronic tools. They came and fixed the toilet right away but this room and building needs a little bit of an updated work. That all said, the view of the harbour was excellent and the staff was friendly and great to work with!

Rooms are in need of a remodel quite badly. Bathrooms especially. Hot water takes a long time to get up to temperature. Faceplate on shower faucet was falling off. Rust on the access panels in the ceiling.
We stayed in a 2 Queen Bed room on the 5th floor. Bathroom is also very tiny, door almost hits the toilet when opening and completely blocks shower access so you have to shower with the door closed and make it super foggy.
No room amenities. No mini fridge or microwave. No free internet.
Beds are quite dated, not your usual nice pillow top. The one bed closest to the window was very sagged on the left side due to high use.
We paid $194 for the night (it was a long weekend) and got an incredibly basic room. They have 2 snack vending machines for the entire hotel. One is cash/card, the other is only coin. They only have 1 beverage vending machine and it was completely sold out. When I asked the front desk what other options I had, I was given 2 free room temp bottles of water or advised there was a gas station 12 minutes by foot away.
We used the pool which is on the small side but was fine. However the pool deck and womans washroom was filthy. Lots of hair on the ground and puddles of water that had no where to drain to.
I dont like leaving bad reviews but we have recently stayed in 2 Holidays Inn Express' within the past 2 weeks, one in Ontario and one in Quebec and both were far superior in decor, bed & pillow comfort, amenities, and cleanliness. We chose the Hilton over the Holiday Inn Express due to the location and thinking we would be "treating ourselves" to an even nicer experience for the long weekend. We regret that as it wasn't anywhere as nice as the Holiday Inn which is unfortunate for the Hilton brand.
Giving 2 stars as the location really is ideal & the restaurant staff and front desk agent who helped us really were very great. I'd like to especially give thanks to the server working at the restaurant on Monday morning (Aug 2nd) who had an almost full restaurant and was working completely on her own. There was a gentleman in a suit who popped out of the back sporadically but was not assisting with orders or serving. She was running around like a super woman, clearly quite stressed, but still very nice. Kudos to her!
For a total of $305 charged to my cc for one night, we feel like we stayed at an old Best Western with a nice lobby and good view. Not worth that amount at all.
We wouldn't stay here again.

The hotel was very clean. Krissa, front desk agent, was excellent to deal with, very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a bit dated but good overall.

I'm not one to say anything negative, however this hotel was not worth the price. It's in a good location with polite staff. Rooms had a weird smell and stains on the wall - hotel is in need of a reno. York Bistro (hotel resto) had good food, however terribly slow service, items were forgotten and it wasn't that busy. Unfortunately, would not stay here again.

Was told over an hour ago and counting that "they were running behind the cleaning and our room will be ready for check in shortly. Just checked in now, same answer and they will not provide us with any more info on when our rooms will be ready, not even a rough estimation. My partner and I made plans that required being at the hotel room for a certain time so we could get ready and are now unsure of what we should do and have received no offers to compensate us for the time we're losing. We will not be coming back.

The room smelled and there was mould in the bathroom. Headboard was peeling. It was a good hotel back in the day really old now and needs to be refurbished! Staff is friendly!

Was expecting more from a 4 star hotel with the "Hilton" name attached to it. Furniture was old and run down, toilet seat was broken, bidet was leaking down the wall, bed was well worn in. ***IMPORTANT INFORMATION: there is no parking included with the room. Prepare to pay 23$ a day for parking. We had booked for 8 days, but only stayed 3. On a positive note, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the harbour view from the 12th floor room was nice.

In need of a remodel. The rooms are in need of a good cleaning, paint and wallpaper. The joining rooms we are in have a terrible set up. The doors between the rooms won't open fully.

Facility starting to show its age but staff were great on all fronts. Walking distance to venues and downtown 'weekend vibe.

Not a bad experience. The restaurant was closed but there are several others close by. We had breakfast included but the caterer totally screwed up our order. Not sure how they did that as there were only 2 choices for breakfast.

Stayed here with my younger kids for their March Break package and I'm glad we did. Staff was very nice, room was very clean, my kids had fun with their activities and they loved their snacks and breakfast delivered to their room! I was also upgraded to a Harborview room which was nice. Thank you very much!

Amazing! I just love how It's connected to the malls and you don't have to go outside at all. One thing I don't like is how much the parking is, other than that It's awesome I highly recommend it.

Stayed here for work during COVID so it was pretty empty. We got a room upgrade to the top floor with a view of the harbour which was nice. It was kind of weird that I was getting texts asking if everything was okay with the room and just checking in to see if we needed anything. I think having the ability to text if you need something is nice but I didn’t need to be checked up on.

Also the shower took about five minutes to heat up but maybe that’s because the hotel wasn’t busy and we were on the top floor?

I was planning to make a 5 rooms reservation on the phone but the female operator with sounds like Indian accent hanged up suddenly while I was talking, and never called back, which was pretty rude to potential guests. Don’t want to go any more!

The hotel was fine and concierge was great. But it's definitely not good enough to wear the Hilton badge. We've stayed in many Hilton's in many cities and this one is by far the worst one (visually). It's badly in need of a redesign to match the other Hiltons. When you go to a Hilton you expect the same quality wherever you go. Fantastic location however.

Great staff and comfy rooms. Wi-Fi is really awkward to hookup and parking is not free though so unless you are gonna be out drinking downtown I recommend going somewhere else.

Elevators are beyond SLOW. We stood sometimes for 10 minutes or more waiting for an elevator. The Window in the room had a bad draft and leaked condensation. I asked for a wake up call.it never came.

Solid hotel in the heart of the city. Great restaurant and bar on site, open late. Connected to the inside connection hence, you can get all the way to the Saint John City Market without ever having to go outside. Property is seemingly well managed as it has been well maintained and operated for several years.

Rooms are in dire need of renovations (at least my room did, on the 3rd floor). Heard a lot of noise from guests coming in and out of the elevators facing our room (day and night). Staff at the reception desk and restaurant were very friendly. Breakfast buffet was tasty with many options. Despite the positives one would expect better finished rooms in a Hilton hotel (signs of minor damage on bathroom wall and headboard, very rough towels, functional but tiny bathroom). Disappointed.

The room was lovely! Food was excellent! The only downside was that it was on the noisy side. I can't blame the hotel for it though. I will be staying there again!

Loud HVAC not getting serviced when asked.
To start off we got confirmed reservation for a room with 2 queens bed. They gave us a room with 1 queen bed. When asked, instead of apollogied for the screw up. The check in girl reason was because there was only one name on the reservation before grudgingly gave us what we booked for.
Then on the 2nd night the hvac system was howling loud enough for me to wake up (I am a deep sleeper who need multiple alarm clocks). It sounded like something was loose. I reported the next day and was told they would get someone on it ASAP. Waited for a other 2 days without anyone showed up. I had enough and checked out early. The check out guy was nice like any other hotel so I did not have the heart to tell him the problem.

Stayed in January for a week and loved it! View of the harbour from our room was stunning! Extremely helpful and friendly staff! They even offered a complementary bag of "Storm Chips" (yeah it's a thing there!) when our whole team had to stay an extra night because of cancelled flights due to bad weather! Wonderful stay! Would go back in a heartbeat!

We went into the York Bistro & Pub in January and just WOW when it comes to Elise and Gina. Wenhasbthe Perogi Nachos and BCon wraps scallops which were awesome. We had such incredible people “serve” us. I don’t even want to say serve because it was if they were friends welcoming us into their home. We came for a drink and appetizers before we went out to town to explore. We came back after that and had a few night caps. We were welcomed in such a lovely way by them. They remembered us not only by name, but remembered our drinks. Both times they spent time telling us all about the area and all of the things we can do while here. It felt like we were at a restaurant back home, dealing with a friend. Because it was low season and the restaurant wasn’t full, they evenn gave us the remote to the TV and let us sit on the couches to be comfortable. I literally couldn’t ask for anything else. We will be back in July with our family and cannot wait to come back and see Gina and Elise. Thank you so much you two! You made our trip. You are both so lovely and great at what you do.

My husband and I stayed for a week at the Hilton Saint John this past December. It was a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly, helpful. I had breakfast every day and could not believe the options. The wait staff was just wonderful. Two years ago we stayed at another hotel and the service from Christmas Eve to Boxing Day was non existent. I told Dave we will stay some place else this visit. We will return to the Hilton every time we visit family in Saint John. I highly recommend the hotel for its service, terrific staff and location.

Great rooms and comfortable beds. Some with views of the working waterfront. Great location for having fun in downtown Saint John.

Wonderful stay on a snowy night. We we're accommodated for our early arrival and then received a complimentary upgrade. Given the winter weather, the underground parking was a blessing. Our room was clean and very nice. The staff was exceptional and very friendly across all areas of service. The York Bistro and Pub had a very personal staff who offered up a great selection of menu and custom drinks. The food was also a great variety and full of flavor. During our stay we took advantage of the convenient underground walking tunnels from the hotel to various hotspots in the city. All around a great stay in the heart of Saint John.

Great stay at the Hilton Saint John. I like how they text is and so if we need anything. I did need towels and they were up in no time. Beds and pillows are very comfortable. Wish there was a night table on both sides of the beds. Check in was quick. Parking was expensive. City parking $18 plus tax.
