Well maintained park with adequate parking. Plus there is a shuttle service if you do not want to walk.
27 October 2023 18:35
Breathtaking when you get there but I was breathless walking the roughly 800ms! Well worth the trip!
14 October 2023 4:05
My family visited Hopewell Rocks at both high tides and low tides. It's an incredible experience. Your ticket allows you to visit multiple times. I would recommend checking tide schedule before driving there. We went early in the morning for high tides. Went for lunch and came back to enjoy low tides. They have yummy fish and chips at the restaurant. It was a bit of a hike down, not too bad though. Wear comfortable shoes. I wouldn't recommend flip flops but watershoes will be great. Ocean bed is uneven and clay ish so your shoes will get dirty. There is a cleaning station with hose available If you want to wash up before heading back. I would recommend taking the shuttle back. It gets tiring. Shuttles ride was $2 per person.
07 October 2023 12:41
Great place if you like walking and nature. I definitely recommend going during low tide to get the full experience.
02 October 2023 15:41
An incredible few hours spend here witnessing the lowest part of the tide, to start, with the gorgeous sunshine and gentle breeze… plus getting covered in mud, but that’s all part of the fun and adventure. Don’t go wearing your best shoes and clothes if you want to walk on the ocean floor.
We stayed long enough to then with was the high tide coming in until it reached its maximum, what a dramatic effect and difference it is, completely changing the landscape, it’s incredible and makes for some stunning pictures.
Be sure to check out the view points for gorgeous as well as the tranquil Plage de Demoiselles Beach.
30 September 2023 21:52
We spend over a week at the Bay. The Rocks and Alma was the second place we stayed at. You have to see the tides to believe them.
27 September 2023 11:04
Beautiful park, well worth a visit. Walk the bay floor at low tide. Experience the bay of Fundy up close. Check tide schedule before heading out to make sure you arrive at the right time. Ticket is valid for 2 days so you can experience it during low and high tide. Hike down to the bay or pay extra and take to golf cart (great option for those with mobility issues or tight timelines) $2 each way for the cart. To get to the bottom completely there are several sets of stairs, there is a viewing platform for those you cant make the trek down. There is also a more accessible beach down the way but doesn't have all the interesting rock formations. Pay attention to the times of tides, if you get stranded your rescue will cost you a pretty penny. Restaurant and nice gift shop with a kids playground located at the top near the parking lots. Lots of bathrooms along the way. Good boots recommended as it's get muddy walking around. Boot cleaning station available.
13 September 2023 12:54
Impressive and beautiful. It's best to come once at low tide and once at high tide. The entrance fee is quite expensive.
09 September 2023 23:39
Beautiful natural attraction. Plan to bring appropriate footwear as it’s obviously very muddy. Ideally rubber boots or Crocs. Failing that some old sneakers you don’t mind getting muddy. Don’t show up in flip flops like I did that would be a colossal mistake.
03 September 2023 7:10
Beautiful walk down to the beach or you can take a shuttle. There are steps down to the ocean floor. Beautiful place to hang out and marvel at nature.
29 August 2023 12:14
One of the most amazing experiences I've had in my life. Spent the entire day there to see the tides at the high and the low. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful throughout the day.
16 August 2023 3:10
It's cool to see the ocean floor in concept. In practice, it's muddy, smelly, and devoid of life.
01 August 2023 14:39
Super belle randonnée, nous avons profité de la marée base. Le billet est valide assez longtemps pour un de retour sur le site pour les 2 marées.
28 September 2022 8:47
What an amazing day. We visited around noon so that we could go and walk on the ocean floor. And then we came back later in the evening to go kayaking. It was such an incredible experience.
26 September 2022 15:16
This is a great place to visit. The trais are amazing! Depending on the time of your visit. You may have the opportunity to go near the water. Or to Kayak the rock. The staff is great. They was happy to answer all my questions and shared lost in formations about the history of the place. Price is $35 per family including parking. Cheers
25 September 2022 13:25
Cool place where you can look at interesting rock formations on the ocean floor. Their restaurant was surprisingly good!
24 September 2022 1:16
This was great! We went at low tide and walked up and down the beach. Then we went to cape Enrage and came back to see high tide. Amazing difference. Highly recommend going for both if you can. It was a great day. We spent money in the gift shop and kids enjoyed the playground. Water bottle fill station available outside.
23 September 2022 14:21
Un Parc Provincial de qualité Supérieure.une Organisation professionnelle et Tout est en place pour satisfaire la Famille.pour rejoindre le plancher de l'océan, il faut descendre les 101 marches tel qu'annoncé.
15 September 2022 11:01
I don't recommend going there if you're going during a high tide simply because it stops the visitors from spreading around the rocks at the ocean floor and it concentrates everyone in the staircase close to the rocks at the end of the park's path, which makes it very annoying to try and take pictures. The scenery itself was great and I'm sure it would've been even greater if we would've went there during a low tide moment.
08 September 2022 13:04
A definite place to visit! Everyone who comes - you are advised to bring a pair of slippers or footwear you do not mind getting dirty! Remember, the ocean floor is wet! It is muddy! I saw so many people wearing tidy white shoes. And I just fell sorry for them! I brought slippers and changed into them. There is a cleaning station to rinse your feet. I brought a towel to dry my feet and changed back into my running shoes! Consider yourself warned!
07 September 2022 3:14
Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park was nice and clean, easy hiking trails and was pet friendly as well. Shuttle was also available for those who do not want to hike to Hopewell Rocks. Washroom facilities and shoe washing area was available.
06 September 2022 6:36
We always enjoy our time at Hopewell Rocks. We see something different every time we go. A must see if you are in New Brunswick. We were there during low tide this time and it was a neat experience knowing we were walking on the ocean floor. There are many steps to get down to the bottom, hence, many to get back up so if you have difficulty ambulating, this option may not be possible. But there are many look out areas so you can still take in the beauty.
04 September 2022 20:45
Exceptional natural beauty. Absolutely recommended. Visit at low tide if you want to walk between the rocks. Check their website for tide tables.
We walked down to the Flower Pot. The trail there is about 1 km and has a gentle slope that should be doable for most people. From the platform you can take a staircase with a few flights of steps down to the beach itself.
Once at the beach, I recommend first walking to the right until the end, which is a few hundred yards over stones or slightly muddy patches, then walking back, continuing past the staircase and walking to the far left end of the beach where a ramp takes you back up to the trail. This way you will see all the rocks.
Given the soil, I recommend wearing walking shoes or Wellington boots.
If you prefer not to walk, there is a paying shuttle service from the park entrance down to the viewing platforms. A one-way trip costs 2 CA$ per person and toddlers are free.
People in wheelchairs can ask the park attendants to get access to the parking near the beach. Getting down to the beach itself is possible via a wheelchair accessible ramp (the same one as described higher) but riding a wheelchair on the beach itself will probably not be possible.
27 August 2022 13:00
You do not need to book tickets in advance like Tobermory!
There is a huge parking lot available free of cost.
Approximately 35 dollars to get it and if you want the shuttle it's 2 dollars per person one way.
It's a steep descent and the shuttle is highly recommended for older people or for those with disabilities.
The shuttle runs every 5 minutes and is a lovely joyride.
The park is well setup with trails and off course the rocks.
They have bathrooms and a very nice gift shop on location.
There is also a museum in the main building where you can learn all about Hopewell Rocks.
The rocks themselves are a great experience where you can walk on the ocean floor during low tide and come back later during high tide to see water gushing all over where you were during low tide.
Fantastic picture spot and I sure did go crazy clicking away.
It's a lot of stairs down though to the ocean floor - so be prepared.
They do have vantage points in case you cannot use the stairs.
I believe there is both a low and high tide everyday.
25 August 2022 23:56
Watch you tide schedules and try to plan a trip for high and low tides. We missed high tide by 2 hours.
25 August 2022 23:16
25 August 2022 18:48
An experience of a lifetime to see low and high tide. The best time to come here is around 12ish p.m. You still have a chance to walk along the beach, touch uncovered seaweeds and rocks. The water is coming, so put your camera in hyperlapse mode and only in 5 min of filming you can see 1 meter of water covering the beach. We spent 2 hours there and already witnessed high tide.
21 August 2022 12:28
You read online, on posters, and in brochures about being able to walk on the ocean floor, but it really hits you once you stroll through the flower pot rocks at low tide how cool this really is.

We were only passing through on our way to PEI, but would definitely return to Hopewell Rocks to kayak around during high tide.
09 August 2022 9:32
Crowded and overpriced. When you see big busses packed with tourists, you know you are in the wrong place. There are better things to do.

If you arrive during a high tide, there is not much you can do. The map provided at the entrance is pretty much useless. The staff is not very helpful.
21 July 2022 6:46
Beautiful place. Definitely a must see!
Dog friendly (can't go into any buildings) -must stay on leash. Dogs are allowed on the shuttle as well as long as they are not going to try and jump off.
09 July 2022 0:29
Beautiful place. Definitely worth the drive from St. John. (NB Canada). We actually drove all the way from Tennessee for over 26 hours of driving. One of the most interesting natural places I have seen after travelling in 10+ countries and visiting a lot of places. Definitely most drastic tidal change.
24 October 2021 2:53
Visited during low tide and loved this place!
Such a wonder to visit and an amazing experience.
Will come back every year just to experience this - Loved it! Loved that I got to see Elephant Rock too!
20 October 2021 9:21
20 October 2021 8:04
Quite spectacular views. I was in awe of the way the formations were created by the action of the tides. Well thought out right from the entrance of the park all the way to the ocean floor.
17 October 2021 14:36
A very unique experience of walking across what would, in the space of several hours, be the ocean floor, its water depth well over our heads.
13 October 2021 20:22
Beautiful place.but when going, make sure you know when the tides are in and out, the first time we went it was high, we weren't allowed to go down. We took our receipt back and we were able to go down the next morning. I recommend that you pay the 2$ or use a token to use the shuttle.

Mornings are best.have fun
05 October 2021 2:19
Worth the visit, if you have problems with stairs, it may not be for you as I saw an elderly man having problems going up from the beach. It seems about 3 stories high.
02 October 2021 23:56
It was the greatest experience ive had seeing natural rocks with water near by and the fastest bird in the world Not one but three! (The Peregrine Falcon)
23 September 2021 15:20
In low tide, don't go back up on the trail. Walk across the ocean floor to the other side and exit from the beach. Some climbing and boulder jumping required.
20 September 2021 19:02
I have wanted to go for years and it did not disappoint at all. So amazing and majestic. We went near the end of the day, paid a little extra for the shuttle down from the parking and had to walk back. It was tiring but well worth it.
19 September 2021 2:32
Very busy with tourists at low tide. The staff on the sea bed have a lot of fun info to add, don't be shy and interact with them.
16 September 2021 1:42
It is one of the WOW places in Canada.
Loved it and can't wait to visit again next time. Amazing place and should be on your bucket list.
10 September 2021 6:42
Nice place, clean, well managed.

Must plan your trip as per tide timing. Do book for kayak in advance - we didn't get one day in advance and had to skip bcoz of tight schedule.

$14 per person entry fee, valid for two consecutive days.

The canteen/cafeteria is also good and reasonably priced.
02 August 2021 16:46
We went before the park officially opened and it was a peaceful walk with just a few other people around. Always recommend this stop.
02 August 2021 16:28
This is a lovely area of New Brunswick. If you haven't been to this beautiful park I would highly recommend adding this to you list.
Nature's beauty at one of its best.
23 July 2021 6:12
Great place to visit and experience the high and low tide which expose the beautiful shaped rocks
19 July 2021 23:06
A beautiful place with splendid view. You will see carvings on the rock made by constant flow of ocean's tides. In evening, tide with the height of around 34-45 feet can be observed. During full moon time, it could be even more. There are few view oints and at the beginning there are washroom and indoor stores to have some rest. Shuttle services of cars are available at any point of the trail. Must wear slippers or sandals, if willing to go to beach.
21 June 2021 19:58
A must see in New Brunswick with the incredible experience of seeing the area at low vs high tide to truly appreciate it.
15 January 2019 8:44
Absolutely awesome what the force of the tide in the Bay of Fundy has produced. Try to come during low tide and stay til high tide for the full effect.
19 December 2018 4:31
Your entrance fee can include a two day pass, so you can really see the difference between low tide and high tide, which is basically night and day. The small hike to the viewing areas is cute, relaxing, and atmospheric. If you're lucky you'll see wildlife.

The afternoon we arrived, the tide was about as high as it would get. The stairs leading down to the beach were half submerged in ocean. Only the very tops of the rocks we're exposed. The other tourists were quiet and respectful as we took in the view.

We came back early the next morning during peak low tide. I was blown away. The stairs to the beach that we're submerged a mere 12 hours before were now open and accessible, giving access to the beach. You could easily walk a few hundred feet down the beach to the ocean now. The rocks we're fully exposed, revealing the beautiful transformation wind, water, and time had given them.

If you haven't been, and you're in the area and considering checking out the Hopewell Rocks, take it from me: do it.
19 December 2018 2:04
Nice place to visit and walk around. Even in the winter. The low tides are during the day in the summer where you can go down and walk around. I hope we return sometime during a better season to see it at it's best.
15 December 2018 18:08
Amazing. One piece of advise: complete a round trip hike during low tide and go up and over the rocks at the cape to a trail that loops you back to the visitor center, or do the opposite and start from that trail that snakes down through the forest, all on gravel, to a secluded beach area to walk around and go up the main stairs that most peope take down to the rock formations.
15 November 2018 17:16
Absolutely beautiful natural rock formations, and the chance to walk on the ocean floor!
Pros:
- $10/adult admission is good for two days, so if you miss either high or low tide you can go back the next day to see it
- You actually get to go right down onto the ocean floor
- Shops, washrooms, food, and exhibits available in the main centre
- Tours available
- Less busy in mid-september than in the summer.
- Water sprayers and boot scrubbers available when you get out
Cons:
- It's an ocean floor - you will sink into the mud! Bring proper footwear.
12 November 2018 22:53
Really interesting set of rock formations. We went here at the end of the summer and it was still very busy. This is not a place for people who want to go off the beaten track. It was very Interesting and there was a fair amount of distance you could walk around the coast
10 November 2018 16:19
Quite an amazing place to visit. Be prepared for lots of walking and it might be muddy if you wonder close to the water. But how could you not visit this natural wonder?
09 November 2018 2:39
Was a nice 2 hour drive out. Parking easy and getting into the park is a small fee.

About a half an hour walk to beach area down hill on a dirt path surrounded by trees. The beach area: some parts were muddy so don’t wear your best shoes. It is pretty rocky so watch your footing.

Was interesting to see all the rock formations that have eroded from the ocean.

Not as fantastic as everyone says but it was different for me.

Perhaps with a tour I may have learned more, hardly think it’s bucket list worthy, but if your passing through.
31 October 2018 23:29
Great place to visit the walk in is great. They do have the option to get a ride in and out on a golf cart for 2$ each way. We walked in and took the ride back to the main gate. The driver heard my son asking about a souvenir and he gave him one of the tokens you use for the drive. Was very nice of him and it stuck with my son for a few days after.
31 October 2018 3:14
What a wondrous place this is. The rock formations carved by the erosion of the Fundy tides are beautiful and spooky at the same time. Take the time to walk down along the beach.
29 October 2018 13:47
Absolutely beautiful! I’m glad it’s only $10 because it could have been far more exploited as a tourist destination.
I only went at low tide (incredible!) but I appreciate that your ticket allows you to come back if you wish.
26 October 2018 23:40
Nice place but very crowded during tourist high season. Make sure to arrive during the low tide as there is not much to see during high tide. Nice quiet beach a longer walk to the right side of the park.

Bring mosquito repellent.
26 October 2018 10:10
$10 entry seems overpriced to stand on a beach at low tide, but that's what you pay to get the famous photo.
There is a nice walk down to the rocks, and resturaunt.
24 October 2018 2:21
Another fabulous example of nature at its best. The day we were there, the site was packed with several thousand enthusiastic visitors, from all over. Invigorating walk down to the rocks themselves, but you can spoil yourself with a ride back UP, if you want. The guides are very friendly and love regaling visitors with interesting and informative information about the geological formation of the Rocks and the history of the site. Great facilities on site to give you a greater understanding of the site and the extremely high tides they get in the area. Very children and pet friendly, too.
16 October 2018 1:05
An unusual place allowing the visitor to "experience" the effect of the Bay of Fundy's huge tides. At low tide, visitor's may descend via stairs to the exposed beach to walk amoung the massive rock columns formed by tidal erosion. At high tide the water level can be 40' above your head! There is a small fee ($8 US?) be sure to time your arrival to LOW TIDE or the walk will be disappointed.
05 October 2018 15:00
$10 entrance fee let's you in for two days so you can see the rocks at high and low tide. Come at low tide to walk the beach. There is about a 15 minute walk that has some overlooks before you get to the stairs to the beach. The beach can be muddy and slippery, though.

The rocks are amazing to look at and walk around. A lot of the more dangerous caves/passages are roped off due to falling rock hazard. Some of the rocks have names such as mother in law, E. T, or elephant rock. It can be interesting to try and make out the shapes in the rocks.
03 October 2018 15:12
Die Hopewell Rocks sind eine Gesteinsformation die durch gezeiten-Erosion entstanden ist. Tidenhub bis zu 16 Meter. Felsen erinnern an Blumentöpfe. Spitzname = Flowerpot Rock.
22 September 2018 4:34
Not as impressive as we expected, but in fairness, we didn't see it at the best time, when you can actually walk on the dry bottom. And there weren't as many rock formations to view as we thought. I'd love to come back sometime to see it with the tide out.
21 September 2018 23:03
This is a must see it if you are in Moncton. The hiking is very nice as well as the walk on the ocean floor. We went at 2pm and walked under the ocean floor for 40 minutes before they closed it and high tides were starting. We had lunch and hiked in the trail until 5pm and then got to see the high tides. You can also come in 2 trips because the entrance family pass of 25 dollars included 2 day entry. Since we had limited time we decided to come during the end of low tide and stay for the duration until the high tides covered the rocks. So Amazing.
