The Eco-centre main building and washrooms were closed, since I visited in the late fall. There is plenty of free parking, on both sides of the main entrance. The boardwalk tower has a pair of binoculars that gives you a clear view of P. E. I and is lovely at any time of year.
Went to enjoy the boardwalk and as many travelers do, had our small dogs in slings attached to us. Saw the sign that clearly states "No Dogs on Site" yup, I understand. However, our dogs were not on site, not on the ground, but in a harness sling on our persons. Authority at the gate stopped us and did not permit us entry So if that's the case, and your policy, then do your due diligence and state that dogs are not allowed on neither site nor persons on every sign! There is a difference!
Best beach close to Moncton with lots of space and a walking trail to the Arboretum in Bouctouche. The boardwalk is well designed and maintained. There are dog kennels, changing rooms, wash rooms, and interpretive center, and ample parking here. I do wish people would make use of the generously provided garbage cans here instead of leaving garbage on the beach. There's lots of garbage further down the dunes - some washed up fishing gear and some lazily discarded food and drink containers, even an axel and tires from an old wagon. I'll never understand why people go to a natural area like this and degrade it with garbage and disrespect. Kudos to owners for doing what they do.
What a beautiful boardwalk, Love the lookout! Lots of old pictures on the trail landing to learn a bit more about the history of the beach/walk. Enjoyed this spot a lot!
A must see if you're in the area. A wide wooden boardwalk hugs the beach. For the more adventurous, continue beyond the boardwalk and walk on the dune until you're all alone on the beach. Facilities at the main entrance are minimal. Interpretive center is a great place to learn about the local wildlife and vegetation.
Beautiful natural beach. Even on a Sunday, not crowded. It’s a natural beach, so a bit rockier than Parlee beach, but soft sand, and when the tide is out, sandbars as far the eye can see. We found this place last year, and it was worth a return visit. Highly recommended.
I checked the website to verify if dogs were permitted before our trip, I couldn't find any reference for it. Needless, to say No Dogs, they do offer a kennel service on site. However it has been extremely hot, and no a/c for them, not staffed, etc.too far to keep going back and forth to check on him. So we headed up the road further, found a lovely private spot.
It's a lovely and well maintained area. They could comb the beach on the less used areas off to the side still. The area you walk into is beautiful with all sorts of carved woodwork and amazing walkways. Wind is always nice and strong out there so when you are on the beach you get no bugs, lots of Sun and lots of wind. Good to bring your family. No pets allowed on the beach is nice. There is less glass, less pollution and less unpleasant sea garbage around this area than the other beaches of new Brunswick
Lovely! The boardwalk is a nice little stroll that then continues onto a long beach! We walked about an hour out and it still stretched out for quite a bit longer from there! Be sure to bring water if you are planning to walk for a long time!
Wow. This place is breathtakingly beautiful! Found massive shells and just unending beauty. Wind was freezing so we didn't get to do.the full wall but we will be back many many times!
Irving eco centre LA dune de Bouchtouche is a amazing place to walk for miles and miles. The beach is beach and you get to experience untouched nature on the beaches. The shells are huge to look at. And if you have a few hours you can walk to the lighthouse at the end. A great place to workout at, walking wise. It's beautiful there
