Beautiful park and beaches, unfortunately only had a few hours, with the astronomical star map in the last parking lot you would have to explain what the supports and the circle are for, no instructions or anything.
Beautifully kept grounds, bathroom/shower facilities very clean. Staff at check in was knowledge, friendly and very helpful. Walking trails for miles.exceptional experience!
So much space to explore on all fronts: Trail, Biking, Water. It's really well spread out and clearly taken care of. Campsites have what looks like good variety. Dogs allowed. And an easy drive as well from many city/town hubs nearby that of you haven't gone yet, have no excuse not to!
Kouchibouguac is a National treasure. We enjoyed kayaking the waters and biking the trails- This place does not dissapoint. An awesome adventure for all ages!
Always love coming here, the only thing that could make our visits to Kelly's beach more enjoyable is if there was better access to washrooms from the beach.
Loved our camping trip! The rv sites were private enough and all 3 services made it easy. Always something to do in such a beautiful park and Kelly's beach never disappoints. (I'm also glad they ask have the chocolate dipped cones!) Can't wait to return!
We went this week and stayed at one of the "equipped" camping spots. They were supposed to have dished and all the gear you need, but due to covid the only thing there was a tent, a few cots and a broken propane stove. I called Sunday before we left to confirm what would be available so we could pack appropriately and was told that dishes for four, a cutting board, can opener, mixing bowl and sleeping mats would be provided, but none of that was there when we showed up. Because of this, we were completely unprepared. The staff were not helpful at all. We went to the gate to tell them about the broken stove, They said they would send someone over, but no one ever showed up. I could have brought my own stove and all the gear, but when they said it would be available and something I am paying for them I expect it to be in working order. We had lots of food and no way to cook it other than over an open fire. Their website showed pictures of the prospector tents and showed floors that appeared to be a part of the tent. It looked like they would do a good job at keeping the bugs out. When we got there we found out that the tent was placed on a wodden platform and was full of bugs and spiders. There's no where at the park to buy water other than small 500ml bottles from the canteen. The staff said we could fill our water bottles from the bathroom sink, but there are signs posted everywhere saying not to drink the water so we didn't want to chance it and drove 30min to the closest store.
The trails were nice, but the mosquits were pretty bad. The trip would have been better if we were better prepared, but when I called to confirm I was told we would have everything we needed.
We had such an amazing time. You have it all, gorgeous paths through lagoons and and the beach. We had the weather on our side and witnessed amazing sunsets in a magical setting each night.
Great place to camp, bike, hike and beach! We've been going for the last few years and have never been disappointed in the slightest. Good sites, clean, new bathroom facilities and easy bikes trails for old and young. Bikes trails run through woods and along the ocean, hard to beat. Highly recommend this park.
There are quite a few walking, hiking and biking trails. The bog trail, including a boardwalk stretch, is one of my favorites. There are several sandy beaches as good as those on PEI but less busy.
We had an Otentik for two nights and it was amazing! The two kids (3 and 6) had a great time at the park and the beach. The last time we rented one, it was fully equipped with eating utensils and other handy things but because of covid, none of this stuff was there this time around. We cannot wait to return!
Kouchibouguac National Park, is a beautiful huge park full of walking trails, great camping locations and beaches. One beach called Kelly's beach is amazing. One walk on a board walk to the beach with stopping places along it to watch local bird in their habitate and sea life when the tide comes in and out. At the end of the board walk is Kelly's beach. Where you have beautiful sand beaches that you can walk for miles on. You can walk in the water a long wY when the tide is out and look at shells, jelly fish etc. A great beach to bring the family. The water is so nice and warm even in late October. I love this beach and park
