Such a cool fun and welcoming experience the tides that come in and the waves that go in and out are amazing love how peaceful and calm this spot is it’s definitely a beach sandcastles are really cool actually saw some people build towers with them lower and upper like both Written By: Liam Van Stone
The best sand and an Awsome very warm beach. Water not so much. This pix 3 hours later the water completely over took all that sand. It does it every day. A magnificent phenomenon. Hiking trails also nearby.
Gorgeous spot! Small convenience store not too far away and a takeout spot on site. Clean, safe, quiet, spacious sites, and hot showers. Everything I hoped for. Would love to come back.
Paysage fabuleux.
Beautiful place! Definitely recommend! Dogs not allowed on the beach but the rest of the park is dog friendly. Their rustic shelter had electricity. The comfort station was close by to where we stayed. There was a large amount of kids which did not make for a quiet or scenic environment though.
This is specifically about the campsite, the area is beautiful! Coming from Ontario - we are huge Ontario Parks fans! We typically like a spaced out and private site. Arriving to our first provincial park and our first time in New Brunswick, New River Beach, we were excited to stay along the Bay of Fundy. We knew we were not secluded but did not expect to be so open!
We sadly did not like our site as it was extremely small, exposed and along the highway. The site made it as though it was not that close and more secluded. The fire pit is half the size of an Ontario Park pit which was disappointing. There was a fire ban as well. It was busy which was great but it was also very quiet and people did not seem the friendliest. Either way, it’s a campsite and straightforward but if you like privacy, a big site and pit as well kind people when you pass by, this may not be the place for you. The washrooms with showers were warm and clean!
We left the site to stay at a near by motel! Happily, due to slightly cold temperatures and the fire ban!
Really nice beach. A really good place to relax in the sun and watch the tides come in or out. When we went the tide was out and the beach was quite large. It does cost 10$ to come in (as most provincial park's do) but it's worth it. The have a place you can go and eat and get a drink. The line up to the restrooms sucks but what do you expect with lots of people and only 2 small bathrooms. Definitely recommend coming here!
One of my favorite beaches. Get there when the tide is going out. Park your stuff up on the back of the beach where it's rockier if you don't want to have to move your stuff when tide comes in. You can park on the road for free or 10 bucks to park right by the beach. Bring a small bag of charcoal to use with one of the BBQs to cook a meal. Stay for the sunset.
Nice little beach. The sand is a little course tho. There is a nice little play area for children. There is a canteen there, camping, change rooms. The tide was almost all the way in with about 2 foot waves (3 year old grandson loved the waves) when we were there, but I am guessing that the beach goes out a long ways at low tide. Overall a great beach. Did not see all that was offered but what we saw was great and the best part of our day trip. Just wished we went there first and spent the whole day there even tho it was foggy.
Beautiful beach. But I've gotta ask if all the people that park along the side of the road so they can get in for free, use the washrooms and changing rooms that my $10 paid for. I can't help but think if you can't afford $10 for a day at the beach maybe you should rethink the way you spend your money.
Love the beach and this spot has a good one! One thing for sure, look up the Sand Castle competitions at New River Beach for some pictures of some truly amazing talented folks all out having fun. We'll be able to go to events like this again soon as long as we together keep Covid away and we all get vaccinated. I won't lie though, the water here is really really shall we say awakening invigorating and refreshing!
The park is a great Bay of Fundy outdoor activity site. If you can handle colder waters, it's a great location for swimming, with a very gradual water depth (very few sudden drop-offs or depth changes) and a wide waterfront. There are basic facilities for changing, and outhouse washrooms near the beach itself. There is a playground with a beautiful view of the waterline, and various locations for having a barbeque or picnic meal.
It's busy in the summer. Temp drops a few degrees as soon as you turn off the highway. Everytime we had been there, there was a crazy lady who owns one of the cottages. She calls the police every time the tide goes out and the public start walking on the beach near her place
We come every year. They have a great campground with clean facilities. The camp sites are great size and have lots of privacy. The beach is a short walk away with a nice little park for the kids. Great place to be.
Been coming here since I was a teenager. Whether for beach days or camping for the weekend, this place has never failed to be a fantastic time (rain or shine). Sandy Beach, lots of picnic spots and even supplied fire pits for cooking. What's not to love.
Awesome experience at this place on our road trip accross the Maritimes. RV friendly with convenient on site hooks ups. Nice beach access across the street from the entrance to the park that is included in your camping permit that we would highly recommend taking a visit to. Would for sure make the stop again when we head back out here again
The campground is nice, with lots of wooded sites. The staff seemed a bit tired, lacking enthusiasm (maybe because it was the end of the season?) but they were still very helpful. The camper hookups were easy and worked well. Our spot was pretty small because the bank sloped off, but it was lovely.
It's pretty here. We've stayed here twice for an evening each time on a giant roadtrip when we really needed sleep. First time: very loud campers next door. Nothing to do with the park itself, but it seemed like there were many larger families camping. This time? We somehow ended up at a site directly behind the highway. Any of the sites in the 60 - range seem to have this issue. If we were staying for longer, it would have been more of an issue. As it was, we had our 8 hrs and will have some coffee and vamoose! But it's not really on our list of places to return for reasons other than "good stop to sleep on our way. "
It was very beautiful scenic view. The water was cool and the beach was welcoming. There was 10 dollars for parking but was free because it was a holiday. Restrooms had flies roaming and a little unclean.
Maybe not as famous and touristy as some other places around, had a great time as the campground. Stayed at one of the rustic camping no service plot. Good size, plenty of privacy and shade. Really nice sandy beach a small walk away with stunning views on the bay. Nice hike (let’s say more a walk) on the peninsula, which you can also reach through the beach at low tide. Be ready to walk in tiny bits of water and/or mud. Nothing bad, but appropriate shoes are better. No real shopping opportunities without car, still has a restaurant with a basic menu and fish and chips.
Great beach, very long and walkable. Clean. Very cool contrast between high and low tide. Nice Stream flowing through the beach. Great view. But too busy in September. Parking accessible. Changing rooms. Hiking trail nearby
The beach was absolutely breathtaking. The waves were fun for the kids to play in and sand great for castle building. Adorable little restaurant was well priced and food delicious. I had the cauliflower. I loved this beach.
What a lovely camdground we been going here for a few years as a family. Try to get the same site every year but only could get it once this year. We had a great time with our. Childern. Maybe we win a campsite stay. Keep up the good work.
New River Beach has been a perfect spot to come since I was a child. It's long spralling beach, soft sand and beautiful low or high tide is well worth the trip. It's a true gem in my eyes, and I was always come back whenever I'm home.
I'm only giving 3 stars because the staff in the office were extremely rude. I'm guessing students there to collect a paycheck. However the park itself very well looked after. 2 thumbs up for maintenance. As for the beach, water was chilly and some seaweed but the sand was clean and the view was nice. I probably won't go back because of the staff in the office.
Belle plage avec terrain de volleyball. L'eau est froide mais la vague est idéale pour les enfants. Toilette et douche disponible sur place. Possibilité de se stationner à proximité et marcher pour éviter de payer les frais d'entrée au parc =)
Beautiful beach with volleyball court. The water is cold but the wave is ideal for children. Toilet and shower available on site. Possibility to park nearby and walk to avoid paying entrance fees to the park =)
Camping is within walking distance to the new river beach. Firewood could be a bit better as it was wet on the inside. Bring a fire starter or cut a bunch of kindling when you're getting set up. Staff were friendly and appear to like their job.
Super belle plage de sable blanc et doux (pareil comme dans le sud) sauf pour l'eau qui est très froide. La plage a marré basse doit faire 12 km x 4 km il y a beaucoup de place pour jouer
Easily the best of NBs provincial parks (admittedly a low bar to hurdle). Campground is good though comfort station is too small and there is a fair bit of road noise. Minimum of insects. Beach is very nice.
