My recent visit to Ponderosa Camping Site was unfortunately marred by several issues, leading to a disappointing experience. Not only was I overcharged by $23, but the campsite staff refused to acknowledge that the pre-existing damage to the mattress cover was not my doing. Additionally, the presence of numerous ants, despite the presence of ant traps, and the lack of satisfactory shower facilities and accessible tap water near campsites without electricity added to the inconvenience. Moreover, I felt manipulated by the owner, who seemed more focused on making money than ensuring a positive experience for guests. Although the campground itself is close to Hopeful Rock, I cannot recommend it to anyone due to the lack of honesty and integrity displayed.

Beautiful surroundings, peaceful. Great walking trails. The owners were absolutely wonderful hosts.

Ponderosa Pines is an excellent camp ground. Kirk, family, and staff are very professional and take a lot of pride. The cleanliness and maintenance of the camp is proof. Many campers echo this statement

Pas beaucoup de choix près de Hopewell Cape. Donc, camping très cher pour la qualité, le plus cher payé au NB. Terrain correct, commodités très propres cependant tables de picnic vieilles et pas invitantes. Wifi presque nul.

Wonderful campground. Such a beautiful location, lots of trails to walk the dogs and great owners and team members. Looking forward to coming back next time we are out East.

The lady who manages or owns the camp was there when we checked in. She was horribly unwelcoming, almost straight out rude to us.

The showers have the worst plumbing ive ever seen and im a plumber i would know. And theres only 4 for the entire campground so you'll most likely wait a while. Also, most of the toilets near the campsites are outhouses.

Finally, it was terribly overpriced for what we got. 60$ for no amenities? We paid half that during our entire trip around New Brunswick for spots WITH water and electricity.

I wouldnt recommend unless you're trying to get sassed by some lady who doesnt like what she does.

Nice place to camp. Pull through sites have lovely view of the chocolate river. Location is on the bay. Nothing unique about camp site. I was actually disappointed in the laundry facilities; felt like I was walking into a spider cave. I don’t expect there to be no spiders but come on; it was a little overwhelming. I decided to drive to Moncton for intown laundry facilities. Being there for 10 days it was a need.
The thing that stood out at the campsite; was the staff! Hands down. The front desk staff were very helpful and accommodating. I had made a mistake in booking and they made every effort to correct my mistake and give me the correct site for my 10 day stay.

We actually give Ponderosa 3.5 stars. First, the road from Moncton to this park is HORRENDOUS! One of the worst roads we used in 4 years of fulltime RVing. There was also construction that only barely fit our motorhome. White knuckle the whole time. Just be warned. The reason you stay here is it’s location. Very close to Hopewell Rocks. This is why we gave it a 3.5 stars. The park roads are very dusty. Like dust everywhere. Needs to be graded with new gravel or stone. The sites were little tight but fine. The owners were also very nice. Just be aware of the road from Moncton.

The park is big rig friendly, the site is relatively level. VERY nice staff. We had our awning deploy while we were driving in and it partially broke off (2022 coach). The staff person leading us to our spot called other workers to get the awning off the rig and wrap it up. They brought it to us at our site. They obtained the straps we need to put it on our roof, which they are doing today. They have wildly exceeded our expectations.

Really nice spectum of campsites, great store, showers. Clean washrooms and outhouses. Well kept, large campground. Great for tents, trailers, 5th wheels and RV's and can handle any size units. Nice walking trail, reasonable rates and close to Hopewell Rocks on the Bay of Fundy!

A great experience! My husband and I took a last minute detour to Hopewell Rocks on our way home to Ontario and needed a campsite for the night. Ponderosa accommodated us with a full service site with only 10 minutes to closing time. Friendly owners, beautiful grounds and clean facilities. Thank you for making our road trip home that much more enjoyable

Very well run campground. Third time camping here and definitely our favourite place to camp when in Hopewell.
20 September 2022 1:37
Camp sites were smaller and felt a bit crowded with trees needing to be trimmed above head level. Nice walking paths by the sea. Regularly patrolled and quiet after dark.

Wood here was expensive at $7.50 a bag and the wood was small. Kindling sold separately. Best to get your wood elsewhere.

I believe these owners have had trouble with tourists in the past judging by the signage and patrolling of the grounds. People seem to have been damaging the plants/trees during their visit.

I think they get a lot of BS due to their proximity to Hopewell Rocks.

Poor setup for power, no circuit breaker, smaller site than described. Too expensive compared to KOA that have way more to offer
10 September 2022 17:25
The most expensive Campground I stayed at, and less amenities. Stated Wi-Fi in the campground and at the campsites but Wi-Fi was non-existent unless you were at the office. Washrooms and showers were dirty. I understand you have a lot of people using them but I've stayed at koa's that were a lot larger and the washrooms were still a lot cleaner. What I did like about this park is that it was quiet after 9: 00 and that it was close to Hopewell rocks which was the whole reason I was in the area.
07 September 2022 1:47
Great location if you're planning to visit Hopewell rocks park.

The site is well maintained and the staff is friendly.
Camping lots for tents are clean and spacious.

The showers and bathroom could however be cleaned a bit more often. Altough I appreciate the effort they put in ensuring that the doors remain closed.

It is also located near small bodies of water, meaning that there are a lot of mosquitos.

Appart from that it's a good place to stop for a night or two.

We got a great site with water and electricity. It was a little windy. But we were prepared for that.
Actually it was refreshing, if it wasn't windy it would have been really hot. Friendly staff but they should be more specific about the length of their trail and that there is two of them. The trail forks in the road. We went right as It was implied that one of the trails leads to a view of the rocks. So we started our hike only to walk for almost and hour and ended up at the entrance to the park for the rocks. It was closed and it was too late to walk back through the woods so we walked the road. 40 minutes. If you prefer something shorter I suggest taking a left at the fork on the trail and just go around the little lake that's there. I'm sure it's shorter.
Other than the LONG trail walk the campground was fantastic. 5 stars.

Nice clean washrooms. Nice walking trail. Good WiFi. Friendly staff! Thanks for a good experience.
27 September 2021 7:33
Exceptionally friendly and accommodating staff from the office to the maintenance crew. Very clean grounds and big wide sites. High grade wi-fi. We were set to stay 2, staying 4. Hopewell rocks (flowerpots) 4 minutes away. Moncton not far east and cute little waterside town of Alma not far west. Beautiful drive. Highly recommend you plan on an extra night or two cause you will want to just sit back and relax. More stars.

We just arrived home from our first time camping experience at Ponderosa Pines
Just were surprised when we arrived at the campground we couldn't have the 2 lots that we reserved and Paid for.
There was no reason exactly why as those 2 lots were not used while we were there.
Also they had already charged our credit card for the 2 nights that we booked.
My understanding when you reserve with a credit card, that secures your booking but they usually don't go ahead and charge your card immediately when the reservation is made.new to us for sure.
Beautiful well run campground but those were our disappointments.
If we wanted to take any lots that they give us we would not have reserved.

We went for three nights and arrived a day ahead of our reservation. They were very accommodating and helpful. Our campsite was perfect and had a beautiful view. It was also very close to the sights we wanted to see. I recommend this campground for anyone heading that way.

Love this campground! The cabins are great and right on the lake, really relaxing, clean and quiet.

Wifi sucks. All the provided services are wonderful. We did even get better site than originally booked. Highly recommended place for visitors of Bay of Fundy.

I was just driving by, but boy oh boy what a nice stretch of road.love looking at their grounds as I drive by

They have hidden cancelation fee. My booking was more than a month away and I canceled due to COVID and they charged me $40 fee for cancelation. I would never book this campground.
02 August 2021 6:40
Love this place the staff and visitors are friendly and great prices for camping. We go 2 to 3 times in the summer for tenting
26 April 2021 0:21
Terrible customer service. They only refunded our money back 50% when we had to cancel our reservation due to COVID travel restrictions. Absolutely unacceptable.
05 April 2021 15:44
Vous pouvez marcher au tour du camping et voir la mer et deux petits lacs! Super plaisant! Avec une piscine et des parcs de jeux pour les enfants! Tranquille on y retournerais encore!
03 April 2021 14:24
What a stunning place, 30 minutes from moncton. Beautiful spots for tents and campers, store with things you may have forgotten and views of the Bay of Fundy
30 March 2021 1:53
Just stayed here for a couple nights and was so impressed. The bathrooms are immaculate and cleaned several times during the day. All the employees here are friendly and helpful and the grounds are clean and well kept. I highly recommend checking them out this summer!
26 March 2021 11:23
Booked a 5 day stay in August, were from Ontario so we are not allowed in NB, we were waiting to see if were still able to go, and we are not allowed to travel there, so canceled and only got refunded half the amount, because it was 26 days before check in. You would think in these times they would be more understanding, called and spoke to them and all they would say that's our policy.
16 March 2021 18:40
Beautiful grounds close to many other attractions. Friendly staff. Clean bathrooms and showers.
15 March 2021 13:59
1st time camping at this location and I will definitely be coming back. Great place to camp that accommodates both tents and trailers.
14 March 2021 8:16
Such a beautiful campground with all the amenities we needed. The staff were super friendly and helpful. This was our first time camping at Ponderosa Pines and we are already planning our next visit
05 March 2021 8:33
A beautiful place with incredible views. One the best campaign sites in the area. Dropping two stars because it's insanely expensive and despite them offering a CAA discount and me showing the proof, it was never refunded to me. I tried to communicate through email and while they were responsive, nothing ever happened. I thought it's not worth the hassle so I didn't follow up after a few emails.
Update: I got the refund.

Great staff, well maintained. Sites are side by side and quite open but the surrounding trees help provide shade.

DO NOT STAY HERE!
My partner and I had a terrible booking experience with this company. They did not inform us of any cancellations policies while booking over the phone. When we tried to cancel the reservation just two days after we booked, it was impossible to get in touch with anyone from management. When we did get ahold of anyone on the phone, they hung up on us every time. They were impossible to communicate with and actually charged $200 on our credit card and refused to reimburse us. We were promised by staff each day we would receive a phone call from management and never did. The management team has no idea how to handle customer service - they even threatened us, the customers, that they would file a harassment charge for calling the camp ground every day as we were trying to get in touch with them regarding our booking status. In the end they refused to cancel our booking and kept all of the money. I could not be more disappointed in this company. We did not stay here so I can't speak on the venue, however I would highly recommend avoiding staying with Ponderosa Pines Campground to avoid a terrible experience when dealing with their management team and staff. This made for an extremely stressful experience that was meant to be a vacation.

I had a great time camping at Podarosa pines, they have a great little store on site if you forget to bring anything a swimming pool and a great little play ground for the kids. The wifi was very spotty but tbh who really needs wifi when camping? It's in a great location right next to Hopewell Rocks too!
