We came to potato world as we were visiting friends nearby. The main purpose of our visit was to have lunch but we paid $6 each to go through the museum which was small but informative. Afterwards we sat down and enjoyed some food. Of course I had to get the French Fry Charcuterie as I’m sure there aren’t many other places you could get that!
You can choose two types of seasoned fries. I chose homemade curly fries and herb & Parmesan, and then it comes with six different dipping sauces. It was a unique experience, the fries and sauces were tasty. It’s a fairly large portion though and it can get a bit samey so I couldn’t eat it all!
The sandwiches also looked very good.
Very friendly service too.

We stopped here on our way back to Toronto from Montreal. It wasn't a planned stop but did swerve as a great pit stop after a 3 hour journey. They have a museum that talks about the history of potatoes and various machines used for their processing. Especially for kids, there is a nice little cute racing track in the back. You get to choose a vehicle/tractor of your choice and the kids can pedal them and have a fun race. There is also a potato gun that shoots dummy potatoes. The activities are at a minimal price and this museum is not for profit and hence they charge nominal fees for their upkeep. The place also offers a nice dine in with various menu options which obviously includes the world famous fries. Apparently, this place is called the French Fries Capital of the World. This museum also features a nice big chair at the entrance which is a great photo-op for families. Overall, a great place to take a quick snack and also an entertaining spot for kids on your long journeys. Strongly recommend!

This is a restaurant combined with a potato museum. The restaurant basically sells McCain frozen fries cooked into various configurations. It's not much better than what you can make at home in an air fryer. Poutine was underwhelming and used shredded cheese instead of curds, which is just lazy. Staff were friendly and service was fast. Prices were pretty low. Restaurant was almost completely empty.

The low star rating is mostly for the museum. It's an okay museum, someone obviously cares about it - solid exhibits and setup. However, I was entirely unimpressed to enter the Potato Hall of Recognition - I joked to my wife as we stepped inside: "want to bet it's all old white men? "

To my great irritation, my prediction was 100% correct. This is total B. S. There is absolutely no way that there isn't a single woman or person of colour who has contributed to the Canadian potato industry. I have never seen such obvious evidence of patriarchy and anti-inclusionary sentiment. I can only assume that the only people voting on this "recognition" are white men themselves. I am ashamed to have given money to this establishment. Grow up, McCains, and think about the world you want to pass on to your children.

A lovely little museum showing the history of potatoes, also has a nice restaurant and gifts/souvenirs. Easy to find as it is just off the highway.

It was cute. I expected real cheese curds rather than shredded cheese, and the fries were soggy.

On their website, it’s said there are newly added family activities open, paid $18 to enter and found the PEDDLE TRACTOR RACE TRACK, POTATO GUN SHOOTING RANGE are not open because their backyard just got seeded. The guided tour is not bad but could be better if the guide doesn’t read from her script. People who run this place could come up with more hands-on and fun activities for the kids.

Potato World in Florenceville is a combination of one great restaurant and a fantastic Museum… all about POTATOES!
A very welcoming place and the museum guide here is the very charming Tammy Kirkland.whoaah Tammy, way to go kid! You can find all the information you need to know about potatoes from start of selecting the eyes’ for planting and sowing, cultivating harvesting, packaging etc. The antiques equipments are all displayed at the museum and also on the walls of the museum you’ll find the photos that includes the founders/co founders and owners of the McCain group and what a great group! When I think of this name, my mind goes yum, yum, yum with all those potato products they produced over the century. This museum was a baby of the most hardworking Miss M. Strong, who according to Tammy has generously donated the land that had been given to her by the McCain Family because of her loyalty and dedication work afforded to McCains for over 40 years! Come visit and enjoy!

Three stars only because I didn't buy a ticket for the museum. Just didn't have enough time. I did make some gift shop shopping. Was hoping for more local crafts.
