Red Herring Pub

I ordered fish cakes for lunch. They were really bad. They were tasteless, mushy and fell apart into many pieces. My dining companion had fried clams that were tasteless as well.

Delicious food, excellent service. Try sauteed scallions with side Acadian salad and a glass of Chardonnay.

The pub it is cozy and inviting, the server however is not. She was far more interested in watching the soccer game than serving. My friend had the lobster roll, which enjoyed the flavor, but said the amount of lobster was quite small. I had the chicken wings they too were quite small. More like Pidgeon wings. They did not come with fries, veggie sticks or blue cheese.nothing. Just tiny wings doused in Frank's Red hot sauce. Will not be returning or recommending to anyone. Service, 1 food, 1 atmosphere, 3. A shame potential to be a gem of a place.

This is a ‘usual’ restaurant stop for us when we are visiting St. Andrew’s from Ontario. I was disappointed this time with the fish chowder as it didn’t have one single morsel of fish in it! I mentioned it to the waitress and she took it off our bill. The rest is the food at our table was very good.

Delicious food and good service made for a very enjoyable dining experience. Haddock and chips with a crisp light batter, lobster roll with a generous amount of lobster and tasty fish cakes with fries.

The best spin dip I’ve had! Great atomosphere. The drinks were tasty and server very friendly. Prices very reasonable.

Great food, I highly suggest the inferno fries. So yummy!

If we are back in the area we will definitely be back!

Sadly, not welcome at 7: 40 PM, he said he didn’t want to keep the kitchen open for a family of 5. Closes at 8: 00 PM, not 7: 40. Don’t waste your time, many better places with much better views and staff that actually care.

Most enjoyable dinner we've had in 10 days travelling the east coast. Great service, loved the recommended beverages. Good food at a good price. The Arcadian salad was lovely. Lucky enough to get a patio spot with live music and it was a great evening.

Excellent service and meal! Grilled scallops was my choice along with Poutine fries. My SO had the slab of haddock and fries. We washed them down with a Bud Light and a good cider, respectfully. Great place!

The food was ok. They could have used a different kind of bun for the lobster roll. And it was pricey

Great location but slow service. Order was incorrect and Greek salad was missing multiple ingredients.

Great place. Good beer and attentive knowledgeable waiter. Food was delicious. I had the fish sandwich. Fish was massive, lightly battered and tasted great.

Had lunch here after whale watching. Mussels were a bit salty but fresh. Fish sandwiches were amazing! Like fish and chips in a sandwich!

Brought my family for a day visit, perfectly located by the gorgeous St. Andrews Beach view. Decent food and services, patios are excellently located.

A friendly place with good food and reasonable prices. Sadly, they don't have the wide range of beverages advertised. Still, a fun place to eat.

Food is great, staff is awesome. Will definitely eat here again on our trip to St Andrews. Gluten free options available.

Best fish in chips I've had in my LIFE! Went on a weekday after whale watching. Both my wife and I ordered the fish and chips to go so we could sit out. Food was ready in 10 minutes and brought out to us. We are difficult to please at times so to say this is the best fish I've ever had means a lot! 10/10, if you are in St. Andrews you NEED to eat here. Staff were extremely friendly as well which helps!

We are only in NB a few more days with full plans. But I am making an effort to free up space to go back!

The food was great. The waitress was friendly and pleasant but kept forgetting to bring things we asked for (ketchup, vinegar, refills)

Fast and good service, good price, veggie burger is pretty good. Convenient location in downtown

Overpriced, poor quality sea food (100 meters from the sea), unpleasant attitude, terrible cocktails, uncomfortable seating and attitude. All made for a ‘Never again’ experience.
The owners need to sell or, travel extensively.
Horrible!

We were on our Honeymoon, We enjoyed walking around Saint Andrew's and stopped here.
We had deep fried clams platter, and seared scallops platter Labatt's, crisp apple cider.
Very nice size portions ; service was great.
If you're into it, they carry a wide selection of local craft beer and cider, which is kinda cool.

Good selection of gluten free items.
Went twice in one weekend.
Recommend the seafood! The scallops were small but cooked well. Fish cakes are very traditional - just what I was expecting. I enjoyed both meals.
Burgers are a no-go. Husband said his was dry. My son (6) had one too and it was too overcooked for him too - he said it was burnt. (I don’t eat beef or gluten so I didn’t try them.)
Regular and sweet potato fries were both good! Fried fish looked good too and was enjoyed.

Cozy spot. Drink menu is good with flights available. Food is tasty. My son loves the chicken fingers poutine and begged us to go back for it.

They were short staffed and it showed at times, but staff were friendly and service was pretty good considering the situation. Would definitely return.

Tried to order food for take out (pick up) and they wouldn't take our order because it was too busy

I have celiacs disease and they have a dedicated fryer so I was able to have french fries and a lobster roll with a GF bun. They made my day!

Great choice for food. I had the mussels and pulled pork sando, it was amazing. Portion sizes were generous, customer service was on point.

It was a bit of a wait being Saturday evening. Got a nice spot on the patio. We both had the fish and chips. Amazing. Love the Red Herring.

The staff seemed a bit rushed but it was quite busy. Even so, the food and the service were great!

This little place is wonderful. Staff was awesome, they have an actual full gluten-free menu! It helps that the chef is celiac too, I was so happy.
The fish cakes and the baked haddock and fries where so yummy, my husband had the fish and chips and was in love. They have a wonderful regular menu and people did not leave unhappy or without a full belly.
Really a wonderful place, also has a great little patio by the sea and you can stay late and have a few drink, wonderful place.

Good food at a very affordable price. Environment comes across as a little bit dirty, but not off-putting. Excellent place to go.

Un petit bistrot très sympathique. Le temps d’attente est très court, le service est excellent. La nourriture est aussi très correcte. Un restaurant plutôt bien pour une ambiance conviviale.
