Going there from saint john for the last 5 years. Turns out they don't want me there anymore. Just because of what my wife an I wear. UNBELIEVABLY discriminated against.

Long wait to order.longer wait for food.we caught on that people that were there when we came in were also waiting.and the few plates that went past us.to the wrong table.didn, t look great.this place is a dinosaur.let it die.we left. 40 minutes.for nothing

This tavern has been open for 50 years! Although the atmosphere may reflect it's age, the cold beer, hot food and french fries galore make up for it. Good prices.

The Red Lantern is one of those classic sort of tucked away spots that make you go "wow, why haven't I been here before? "

Great menu selection and they really nailed my go-to "medium rare more on the rare side" steak.

The atmosphere is a traditional pub style restaurant. The Lantern isn't buying you by serving your meal on a wooden board, they're getting your business with good food and service.

You sound like a nightmare patron. This restaurant is clean and friendly, with good food and good service never an issue. Maybe it's just you and your wife. I've never had any issues there, ever.

I went in the latern in the summer of 2020, I ordered a steak well done, when it came to the table is was medium-rare. I reported this to Darrell who very unprofessional shrugged and still attempted to charge me for the steak I did not eat. I told him I'm not gonna pay for something which isn't what I ordered. Darrell got upset and then tried to hand me a bill which I walked past and out the door. I haven't been back sense and I won't go back completely unprofessional.

Overpriced for decent food, I took my family there and I ordered a hamburger and potatoes. What I received was half a scoop of cold potatoes and a hamburger which was way overcooked. My wife complained about her Steak which she ordered medium well and was brought to the table, almost blood rare. Safe to say the best thing about our visit was my son's chicken strips. Too top it off we waited close to 80 minutes and dealt with Rude staff. I was charged almost $60 and when I didn't leave a tip they jokingly asked me about it, I looked at our waiter (small older guy) and said "are you joking, your lucky I paid for the food".

Today we went to the Sunshine Dinner. The food was perfect, the staff was very friendly and it was $15 cheaper

Time travel merit alot of stars. Tiny draught glasses, breakfast ceasars and straight up pub food.

The food was delicious but the waitress needs some lessons on manners & doin the job that is expected of her

Terrible honestly not trying to be rude. The menu is super limited to the point ii didn't even order. My girlfriend ordered a BLT and got food poisoning. Bad experience.

Local hole in the wall. Great hangover breakfast. Had 5 star steak breakfast melt in your mouth beef. Quick service cheap beer.

Great place! Honest decor, simple and really good menu complimented by a delightful staff. I recommend this for a Sunday breakfast if you're in the area.

They have by far the best steak and eggs breakfast, that's probably why they call it the 5-star. If you're there when it's busy, expect to wait a bit but it's well worth it.

My Wife and I went to the red lantern for late breakfast, I found the prices to be very fair, portions we're a little small if you eat a bigger meal, however for the price you could just upgrade it. Staff very helpful and courteous. The meal was delicious cooked just right. I would recommend this place to any or all seats a little hard but that my only complaint.

My boyfriend and I were going out for a late Valentine’s Day supper I was worried it was 19+ but there we no visible signs saying so when we walked in there was no one to greet us and no please wait to be seated sign so we took it upon ourselves to sit at a table (it was 5: 30) we were stopped by an employee who rudely asked us where we thought we were going we told her there was no sign so we thought it was seat yourself. She then even more rudely asked for id and I asked if it was 19+ she said yes but you can go with your parents if you’re underage I jokingly told my boyfriend I told you so and we walked out. If it is 19+ so be it if it’s wait to be seated have a greeter or a sign and do NOT be rude and ask us where we think we’re going. To be added there was a young teen in there so we didn’t think it was 19+ and we just wanted dinner to celebrate Valentine’s Day. I will not return even when I am 19.

The food is delicious, no matter what you order. The steak & egg breakfast is my favorite for breakfast. The Cheesburger or Fish & Chips is another of my favorites. The staff are amazing. Darrel will remember what you drink after you order once! The next time you come in, he'll ask if you want one. He's amazing! He makes amazing Caesars too-amazing! He'll remember what you like to eat too if you're a regular. Prena is amazing too! She's quite the character. She has a heart of gold, but won't take any crapp from anyone who decides to tease or actually get mouthy with her.
