Very beautiful even in the rain. The visitor center was nice with a 10 minute video and the tour of the cottage was great. Guides were very knowledgeable and very friendly.
Beautiful home and location. Fun and informative tour with lots of amusing details about the family's life. Surprisingly it's free so donate if you can.
It's one of the two things you can do around here, the other is the Light House on a horrendous cliff. The staff at Roosevelt Portobello were very friendly and since I like History, I enjoyed visiting here.
Both the island and the park are both worth visiting both because of its historical value and the islands Natural beauty. Make sure you reserve tickets for the special program, Tea with Eleanor. That fo sure was the highlight of my visit. It is free. Also, if you are coming from the States, do not forget your passport.
We ate lunch on the grounds, had "tea with Eleanor" a fun time and really informative. We road the trails on our bikes on both sides of the road and caught the racoon beach area in almost total fog, but cool, then on down to the point on past it and the sun came out and started burning off the fog. Very beautiful, but no whales or seals today. Great bumpy gravel road bike ride too.
So much history here that has been beautifully maintained. Highly recommend attending “Tea with Eleanor” if you get the chance. The staff were so knowledgeable and kind!
This park is well worth a visit. It was foggy the whole time we were there, but even still, the island was charming. Eleanor's Tea was a highlight, but the tour and beaches were also great.
What a wonderful place to visit. Not only are the cottages beautiful but jam-packed full of history. The park rangers at the visitor center were some of the friendliest people i have met. The tour guide was great and had such fun things to say. I couldn't have asked for a better day. Well worth the drive to Campobello.
If you're interested in History, you need to visit this park. It's currently the only international park in the world, it's jointly funded by both Canada and the USA, it has been maintained perfectly.
