Sales guys are awesome. Always available for advice. Patient and reliable.
The only thing better is their service team.

Kyle O'Neil is a very nice, friendly, respectfull fellow who works for his customer.
I am very happy with purchase and if in need i would certainly return to Saint John Toyita for another purchase.

Very impressed with my new sales rep. I've spent many years in sales & service and my expectation bar is rather high.it is rare these days to have proper greetings from a sales person. He promptly greeted me as I entered the showroom where other dealerships ignored me.my intention was to gather more info on the Corolla suv and looks like the rav4 is a better fit for me.he asked some questions to help guide me without pressure and answered 'all' of my questions.at 56 years old, this is my first 'new' vehicle purchase and I'm pretty excited about it.

Update: Saint John Toyota replied to my review, asking me to call a manager to discuss my vehicle needs. I already took my business elsewhere, for the reasons outlined in my review. I found a dealership that was attentive to what I was looking for and made it a smooth process to place an order and buy a new vehicle.

Original Review: Shopping for a new vehicle this Spring I visited Saint John Toyota and was taken aback by just how negative the experience was. I arrived with a prepared list of what I was looking for in a new vehicle, and the sales guy seemed annoyed. He seemed to want to discourage me from placing an order for a new vehicle. Terrible experience.

William Hanson was looking after me today and was very kind, considerate, and helpful while helping me with my first car purchase, couldn’t ask for a better first experience in a car dealership

I worked with Christian, he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful during the entire visit and was able to answer any questions I had.

We had a really great experience today at Saint John Toyota as we purchased a 2023 Rav4. This was the sixth time we have been a satisfied customer. We have leased a corolla, two matrixes, two Rav4s and today purchased this 2023 Rav4. Geordie Holden was very welcoming to us and was very respectful to us being loyal toyota customers. Jeff Furlotte our sales rep was also very knowledgeable, attentative, and provided excellent customer service to us today.

Thank you,

Donna and John Belding

Very helpful in helping with car purchase options. Easy to reach and give call backs when required.

Fast, very pleasant and helpful visit to Toyota Saint John for installation of winter tires and undercoating. Very pleasant staff.

My dad bought a car through Reg Jesso. Traded in his Honda and paid the difference with cash. Reg completed paper work and put the bill of sale in his mom's name Lillian Jesso. Right is right and wrong is wrong. There is no in between. Nice to know Toyota hires sneaky staff and take advantage of an 83 year old.

Thank you to Chris Thompson and Saint John Toyota for always delivering top notch service when it comes to buying a new vehicle! Chris makes sure he knows everything you want and need before making and recommendations and always gets it spot on once he does! I highly recommend him the next time you’re in need of a new vehicle!

We needed purchasing information and Matthew was very knowledgeable and helpful and also listened carefully. His answers were straightforward and honestly explained.

I had an excellent experience purchasing a car at St. John Toyota! I had the great pleasure of dealing with Jeff Furlotte who made sure I was well taken care of! By far my top buying experience! I would recommend Jeff & St. John Toyota to anyone. Thanks again!

Sales person Geordie Holden is a wack job, surprised Toyota still employs him as he has treated people disgustingly. Props to him for smoking a cigarette in under 30 seconds though, impressive.
23 February 2022 11:10
Very fortunate to have this dealership, sell and service with a smile one of the vehicle brand on the planet.
06 January 2022 6:01
They had very little stock on site, mostly small cars.
Blaming Covid for the lack of vehicles and Toyota cutting back production.
07 October 2021 6:38
Chris Thomson is the guy to work with. I had a lot of questions and he answered them all without making me feel silly.
24 April 2020 4:32
Based on way we were treated for a vehicle issue we are on the fence about gettimg toyota for next car
09 January 2020 2:44
Terrible service. When you book a time, you still have to wait for about 1,5 hour, and then, they try to cheat you. They tell you that your car is a danger on the road and offer to buy it for $100. Yeah, you heard me right. $100. When we took the car to another car service, the staff shook their heads. It was worth at least $3000. Avoid this place.

The SJ Toyota Sales and Service Staff I have had experience with have been top notch and a pleasure to do business with. You can rest assured they will do their best to look after you and your Toyota. Plus with a Toyota you are diving the vehicle with the best reliability record out there!
27 October 2019 13:41
Service was quick but they charged me more than the quote on the telephone, and when I said otherwise they were adamant I was wrong. (229.99$ plus tax to 289.99$ plus tax). Had no choice but to pay their inflated price. Good gravy over 500$ to replace an alternator.
12 September 2019 19:15
There automatic van doors open them selves randomly (when driving and parked) very unsafe. Took the van in and they can't figure out why the door is having an issue which means they can't/won't help and say they're not responsible to fix it, leaving us with a van meant to be a kid friendly/familly vehicle that could just open the door itself on the highway. Toyota warranty on their cars cover basically nothing, I don't recommend them after my multiple bad experiences in a row.
24 August 2019 10:53
I was looking for a specific model in their used car section and they didn't exactly have it. He was about to let me just walk away and get in my car but I grumbled about salesmen and people not wanting to take my money and then he took my name and number
17 August 2019 7:19
Tom was great to work with. He found us exactly what we were looking for and got us the price we wanted. Seamless process and friendly staff start to finish.

Is it an accepted sales tactic (or maybe it’s taught) at Saint John Toyota to have a verbal agreement with someone to purchase a vehicle only to turn around and sell that same vehicle to someone else two minutes later? Maybe if you allowed people to post reviews, even when they are negative, on your Facebook page, the honest, hard working people who walk into your business wouldn’t be blindsided by the shady business tactics and dishonest salespeople who work there.
05 July 2019 0:51
Saint John Toyota went above and beyond expectation to make the sale as smooth and seamless as possible. If your in the market for a new or used vehicle Gareth Black is sure to take care of you!

Unprofessional, rude, and indifferent towards customers.
In some cases - I would use the word immature as a descriptor.
Go see one of the top salesmen I know at Fredericton Toyota (I will not be naming him in this review but the folks at Fredericton are pretty decent).

My family (Parents, Aunts, An Uncle, one of my Father's friend etc. - they all live far away from Fredericton too) all buy from him and the sales people are the most genuine folks I have personally known who will treat you right even down the road after selling you a vehicle because they want you to come back. I gave this particular salesman a ring last night because I am looking for a used vehicle to take on the non-leisure mileage - he was more than happy to investigate and he was also pleased I was considering taking my business to them for service and future purchases. I explained to him I bought local thinking that it was more convenient but for most people the cost of vehicles is second to a home usually and for that kind of purchase I expect a much better customer relations experience.

Customer relations and service play a bigger role than some sales people believe I am afraid. It is a shame that people need to inconvenience themselves and travel to get respectable quality service. When I speak of service I am talking to all aspects of the experience from the test drive all the way to years later bringing back your vehicle to be serviced.
I Bought my first car at SJ Toyota. Then traded twice and bought twice at SJ Toyota but apparently.so I am told. SJ Toyota sells too many vehicles to remember anything about you or care about taking you seriously. They will expect you to walk with them as they sip their coffee and interrupt the conversation if distracted by a pretty girl, or they will just walk back in their office when they feel like its time for you to shut up and leave I guess. As mentioned to me, once the deals done, its done.well I guess if that's the approach I will respond accordingly and consider giving an alternate dealer my business which includes service work.
If money was no object I would fly to Japan and buy a Toyota there, then sail it back by ship because their culture and attitudes match the level of quality they put into their vehicles. Eat, Sleep, Drive a Toyota-but not from Saint John.

Not everyone loves car shopping! When it came time for me to purchase a new vehicle, Chris Coyle and the team at Saint John Toyota made it super easy for me! I was only at my point of “ just looking “ and wasn’t going to purchase that day but once I felt how helpful he was and how pressure free the environment was, I took home a new 2019 Corolla THAT SAME DAY! I love LOVE love my new Corolla!
01 June 2019 5:33
So I recently purchased a new vehicle (left over 2018) and paid a pretty penny for it. I want to remind those reading that the rating is NOT against the vehicle but rather reflects the sales and services only at this particular dealership. That being said I will state both the good and the bad. The good included a newer salesman, Gareth Black, who took his time to make sure we found the right vehicle for us and no pressure tactics which I appreciate. I was disappointed that I couldn't drive the vehicle home that same day after spending 6-7 hours there, however, they forgot to MVI the thing so I had to wait. The salesman was visible genuine in that he felt awful I was going to need to wait another day after I was clear earlier that day I was driving the thing home. The danger there was that I could have changed my mind over night, however, I didn't and went back to finish the process for the new purchase on a Friday. The following morning I contacted Saint John Toyota and asked if new oil was in the vehicle before I took it. No one was sure included the salesman whom I purchased from nor the manager Geordie. To Gareth's credit I will say I am impressed with his honesty and that he stated he really didn't know about how long oil should remain in an unused engine and that I would likely know more about that than him. When I spoke to the sales manager he had an interesting reaction as if my request was funny. I spent well over $40,000 on this vehicle and was not amused about the fact he kept stating they never change the oil in a brand new car. I explained that the issue was that we are a quarter into 2019 and that the 2018 I bought would have had oil in its engine since assembly/ fall delivery of 2017.this valid concern seemed to be of no concern to anyone in the sales department but to Geordie's credit he did offer to change the oil at no cost and would follow up with me next week and abruptly the call ended. I was planning on doing quite a bit of travelling that weekend and I sure didn't buy a Toyota with its reliability record to cruise around in 2 year old oil. Before the sales manager let me go on the phone I asked if the service department could just change it since they were still open for a couple hours but the sales manager said they were way too booked up and couldn't do anything that day. Keep in mind I had just purchased the vehicle the previous day so YES an exception should have been made. An oil change on a 2.5 L engine is pretty simply - open plug/ drain, walk away, come back, replace plug screw in new filter. Anyways, I really felt like this was not a good start for them so I just drove right over to their location anyway and into the Service Bay. I spoke to Glen Hurley and he was excellent. He was able to get the oil change done for me. I checked the oil later and instead of the gold/ yellow, it was clear and fresh as it should have been the day I bought it. The theory passed onto to my by some of the SJ Toyota staff was that since the vehicle had barely any miles on it and although it was a 2018, it wouldn't need an oil change because it would be no different that if you left oil sitting on the shelf. First of all, for all that an oil change is, they should just have done it and avoided this feedback. Secondly, this vehicle would have seen at least two seasons of condensation and cold weather. When I buy a NEW vehicle and its defined as NEW then I expected that oil to be nothing more than 6 to 8 months old at the most. Lastly, instead of the push back or telling me it would be a waste to do it, maybe Toyota should provide their sales staff with some coaching so they understand some of these basic principles. My advice is to give your sales staff more training on basic automotive mechanics and tighten up on maintaining the customer relations post purchase. Overall I think it was a 'good' experience but hopefully this feedback can hit on some areas for improvement. Thanks.

Thank you so much Kenny,

Your help has been invaluable. You’ve got my back.
You are a trustworthy and helpful person.
It can seem like we are only customers in other dealerships.
After you purchase a car, they're done with you.
That has never been the case with you or your Manager.
I thank you for your above and beyond professionalism. Something as small as
help with a paint stick can make a lasting impression.
The good sales person and the great sales person are sorted out quickly.
See you at the end of April for service.

Kind regards,

Cheryl Addison

I drove from Halifax, NS to purchase my 2019 TRD Tacoma from Kenny. He made the process from start to finish easy and efficient. They gave me a very fair offer for the Tundra I was trading in. I would definitely make the drive to buy from Kenny at Saint John Toyota again.

PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT SAINT JOHN TOYOTA `- Is this dealership being run by professionals or children playing? I think they forgot they are not the only Toyota dealership around and that people will travel.

If you want a Toyota please look elsewhere, Fredericton or Moncton would be more than worth the trip, this has to be the poorest excuse of a dealership. I went in to look at a Rav 4 awd, The atmosphere was gloomy.the staff do not even look happy to be there. One of them was watching hockey or something on his cell phone and didn't even take 2 minutes to acknowledge us, it was almost as like they had a don't care attitude and I do not stand alone how I am feeling, ASK YOUR FRIENDS. I am sure one of them has had a poor experience there as well.

Went there to buy a pre owned Vehicle. No pressure or what so ever. Great service all the way thru buying process.
28 March 2019 9:32
Great cars, but do not buy one from these guys, I was told the spare key for the car I was purchasing was with the previous owners and that I would receive it when they got it. I called every week for about 2 months and was told the same thing every time until finally I was told that it would cost me 500$ in order for me to get a spare key to my 4 year old vehicle that I had just purchased.
Terrible customer service and a total RIP off, go to Fredericton or Moncton if you are going to buy a toyota.

Good service had to wait awhile. Overall I would use them again.
I bought my Tundra in the USA.

Ordered rims and tires on a Thursday from Montreal. I drove away 5 days later with them installed. That was impressive.

Buyer beware of used car sales tactics. They advertised on their website a price and I went in prepared to make a deal, but they said the price advertised was a mistake. That being said, the salesman knew the price from the advertisement when I spoke to him in person. They quoted me in person 3000 dollars over the price advertised. They protect themselves by saying on their website prices subject to change. Hey, they got me in the door, but I walked out after hearing the price was 3000 dollars over. Just be careful. I wouldn't be surprised that other dealers start doing this.
