Salisbury Big Stop Restaurant

I've been coming here once a year during christmas almost yearly. Has been really good up till this year. I always order the fish and chips, and well, this year the price has gone up, and i thought ok makes sense, but when i was served less than half what i normally got, i was a bit confused. The fish has always been good here, but this year, it was dry flavorless, and the tartar sauce was overpoweringly vingery to the point i thought i was chuging a bottle of vinger It completely killed any other tastes other than the vinger. For 17$ plus taxes, this was a horrible rip-off. Preaty sure everything this year came out of a box as well cause it was not their usual style fish and chips. Dont think this will be a regular stop anymore. All the prices are rediculusly high for no reason.
I have also noticed that the food quality of most of the dishes was subpar at best. They, charge premium prices for something i could find better qualitly in the nofrills noname brand section. Nohing here is really prepared here. It's all straight from a box to your plate and warmed up now which is a huge disappointment. I would save your money and skip the big stop and get better quality at the dairyqueen across the street.

Went there last Friday night had complete glass of water spilled on me from head to toe and still had to pay for my meal

6 Dec 2023 arrived at about 5: 30pm. The dining room was closed, but there was no other explanation other than staffing in another section said renovations. Heard nothing on radio or outside the facility. Drove round trip of 40km, not at all pleased.

We ordered a roast turkey dinner and fish and chips. The gravy, stuffing and fish were the stars of the show! They were amazing! Everything else was delicious too. Staff was very nice and welcoming. Only feedback would be that the booths are very small. But otherwise we were extremely satisfied with everything.

I have been here several times over the years and it has always been great.

Great food combined with fair prices and generous portions equals many return visits. We'll be back!

Love the good at this Big Stop a week as the others. These restaurants are consistent in food quality and service. Always enjoy our visits there.

They have a Tesla superchargers I drive a Tesla. Able to charge in about the time it takes to have lunch and go to washroom.

Best tasting poutine I’ve ever had in my entire life. Giant portion as well. I make sure to go every time I’m in the area.

Huge fan of this location. Restaurant is always extremely clean, wait times are short if any, staff are some of the happiest and most friendly wait staff Salisbury have to offer. Food portions are large, cooked to order and very fresh tasting. On the store side, lots of last minute gift ideas at a reasonable price, you can find some off the wall things counter staff are equally nice on this side and store is laid out well, with social distance markings, available hand sanitizer etc. Great place for a family breakfast any day of the week!

Great all day breakfast. Awesome pies and service. Can get very busy during peak times of the day. May have to wait for a table.

Ok we tried Salisbury Big Stop Restaurant based on a friend's suggestions.
They weren't wrong this is by far the best breakfast we've had in the area by far!
Give them a try you won't be disappointed.

Neat & clean restrooms. A stop to get anything on the go from the store. Always stop to refresh while traveling.

Staff are very friendly especially for the amount of customers. This is just the grocery and odds and general merchandise department. The restaurant is a league of its own.

Always great food. Good local favorites, hand made burgers and all day breakfast. Portion are very large though.

We ate breakfast in the restaurant and there was a good menu. I had the French toast which was cooked beautifully. The mixed grill was delicious too. Lunch was ok. I preferred breakfast. They also sold cakes and pies. We did explore the store. It was amazing. They sold all kinds of desserts in individual portions, different kinds of hotdogs, slushies, clothing and cowboy hats, the list goes on. Would definitely recommend a visit. Every big stop is different.

Great friendly and fast service. The food is amazing as always. Best place for a good breakfast.

Really good stop for clean bathrooms and a good rest stop for some subway or a restaurant with the benefits of gas and a variety of purchase options from nic nacs.

Awesome meal and the waitress was very kind, polite and down to earth. Would definitely recommend this Big Stop.

Had supper at the Salisbury Irving Big Stop this evening to celebrate my daughter's Birthday. I was very disappointed in the lack of cleanliness there today. The booth & table was extremely sticky (even after the waitress "cleaned" it), my daughter's plate that was served to her was dirty and I will not even mention the floor underneath our table.

Hopefully this issue will be rectified before we eat there again.

(I'm being generous with the 2 stars, as our food wasn't too bad).

This is the only place where my wife and I will eat in that area. Food is great and there lots of it on your plate. The staff is friendly and very helpful and they all want to make sure that you are satisfied when you leave. Keep up the good work ladies.

Overall very good. The food was great the tables were clean and our waitress was excellent. However on the way to our table was nearly knocked in the head by another fairly dark complected waitress who was volubly telling a story which apparently required the arm swinging which did eventually result in knocking dishes and food off a table. Secondly I live within sight of a big stop and have eaten at several others in the province and usually a point of pride is their immense pie selection but here they had maybe 4. Lastly I get that they are family owned and run and most of their restaurants have the owners wife or daughter waitressing but I have never seen a more useless and lazy waitress as this one that mainly stood in the centre of the dining room but disappearing when it looked like she might have work to do and being rude with other staff trying to work around her. Maybe she's not the owners daughter but her and they windmill waitress should be fired. The rest of the staff however is perfect

I went there with a friend last week for some take out. It was 10 mins before close, and the friendly knowledgeable staff were happy to serve us.

Love this place great breakfast, lunch and dinner everything I have had here is good at a reasonable price good service too

It's a good place for a quick bite or if you are looking to have traditional breakfast for supper (sounds a little weird) but some people love having omlete for supper. Good food portion and nice subtle homely taste.

I had really good past experiences at other big stop locations but unfortunately at this one both are breakfast was under done and same for the table by us

Great place to stop for a rest or a meal! Food is great and service is awesome. My favourite meal is the clubhouse platter.

This is our #1 place to stop every time we drive to/from PEI, from/to Ottawa. No matter what time of day, we stop for a meal or snacks for the road. A great selection of drinks (coffees, teas, etc.), and staff at the restaurant are always friendly. Kids enjoy the hot dogs. And we love the somewhat new dog park - although not large, it's definitely very appreciated by our two dogs!

Your staff should have more training to respect customers Wright no matter what color their skin is respect is due, my job put's me to meet other people and I treat them with respect. Train your staff will get customers back to your business

This is a truck stop cafe that my family and I have visited over the years. As always, the biggest selling point, for me, is the warm Maritime servers. The food is diner food done well. We've never had a bad meal at this store. It's worth the 20 minute drive out of Moncton, and I look forward to eating there again in 2020.

Absolutely Fabulous! They boast about being so clean.they're not lying! Place is stunning! Could use more parking otherwise great stop! Canada needs more of these East & West across Canada! Will certainly stop here again!

The food is always good here. The menu has something for all tastes.it seems like they are always busy so leave yourself some extra time

Ordered the seafood plater and was not good at all clams were hard little pieces and the fries looked like they were what was left over from another order. Talked to supervisor said she would pass along to her boss and he would call still waiting. Needless to say this will be my last time eating here.should say though my server was excellent. Update glad to see owner only responds

Busy, but service was excellent and food arrived quickly. Good portioning, but on the downside, food lacked any seasoning, perhaps on purpose to allow diners suit themselves, but a little salt and pepper wouldn't hurt anyone.

Le grand luxe vraiment très propre bien tenu super salon salle de bain impeccable. Douche propres etc. Le seul hic mais c'est canadien et non propre à eux 300 litres pour une douche gratuite. A ce rythme si tu n'a pas un Truck qui fait 40 litre au 100. Tu te lave au 2 jours. Au State c'est plutôt 185 litres (50 gallon)

I love this spot. It has fast food and other with a convenience store in the middle. Restrooms are at both ends and they are always very clean. It has just about everything you'll need on a road trip. We often stop here for a bite on our way through. There's also a truckers lounge if you're into that. I kind of miss the massage chairs. I'm not sure if they got moved into the lounge or if they were removed. Anyway it's got gas and everything else you'll need. Most importantly there is a Timmie's across the parking lot

My family of four enjoyed having supper. As usual the food was good. Enjoy the back yo basics. My boys like getting the cookie after their meal. Servers are always nice and food delivered to tables promptly. Will be back.
