Worst moving company. The owner Jeff likes to make up extra fees and charges in his head and complains about it. When we inquire about the fees he wants to argue.
I would not recommend.

Moving homes is very stressful, but these guys made the process easy. They were very responsive and clear communicators, they stuck to their estimate and promises, and moved our things quickly and efficiently. Their team was really professional and personable, setting everyone at ease on moving day. Highly recommended!

While I was super happy with the service and price the first time I called this company, I cant say the same for this time. The total cost literally tripled. The boys were nice and so was the owner as he was able to book me at the last moment but the deposit was super high.
Would use this service again but definitely not during peak times.

After trying to deal with out of province companies and getting the runaround (as well as drastically high final quotes following lowball initial quotes) I decided to go with a local company and Smart Movers did not disappoint. They were able to schedule my move within the same week I called them and provided a detailed and accurate inventory list which led to a final quote which was very close to the initial quote I received from them. On moving day, they provided exactly the service I was expecting and hoping for, loading and delivering our things without any damage sustained, and navigating a narrow fire escape at that! I am very pleased with the service I received, and paid a thousand dollars less than I would have with an out of province company, and with none of the hassle. They were very communicative and helpful during the entire process, and I heartily recommend Smart Movers if you are moving within New Brunswick. I intend to call them again for any future moves.

It was a PIANO. It had to be moved from Moncton to it's forever home in Fredericton. I searched and found one moving company - Smart Movers. I called. Jeff was very professional and provided a ball bark quote based on our discussion. I sent pictures for proof and followed up. No change in price. We set a date and time for the truck to meet them. 45 minutes later, his professional crew had completed a difficult piano lift up on a raised deck and into the home.i'm very pleased to recommend Smart Movers for your next move.

My daughter initially called Smart Movers to deliver a recently purchased sectional to her home. The service was quick and professional. When it came time for her to move from one apartment to another, Smart Movers was naturally our first call.

Communication was frequent while we made plans with Jeff to determine a moving date, and on moving day so that we knew when to expect their arrival. The two gentlemen were professional and careful with all furniture and boxes. They also made sure that everything was to our satisfaction before they left.

We will definitely call them again for our next move.

I used Smart Movers to move some items from my portable garage into my basement. I contacted them on a Monday afternoon and they scheduled the work for the next afternoon I was told they would call an hour ahead but they had a break in their schedule and called before noon on Tuesday. I missed less than an hour of work including the time to get home and back. I would definitely recommend them for any moving needs.

Great experience with Smart Movers Fredericton! They were quick to provide me a quote for various options to suit my move. I had a lot of different questions about the options, but they were extremely responsive and helpful. I ended up having them come to load a U-haul - and the team was great. The guys were extremely professional, organized, and efficient. No damage to any of my items, and the truck was packed perfectly. Thanks again!

We used Smart Movers to move from one apartment to another in Fredericton, NB. The two guys who showed up for the move were very efficient and very careful with all our furniture. They barely stopped for lunch. The company answered every e-mail promptly. I would never hesitate to use this company again. I give this company a 5 star review.

After we posted the news about getting our biggggger laser at Rock Paper Scissors Craft Studios, we opened it up and.wrong machine!
It has taken 3.5 weeks and with no thanks to the big trucking companies, we were so relieved to be rescued by Smart Moving and Storage!
Never underestimate the 'little guys' and their amazing work ethic - these guys were up for the challenge and it was only ***AN HOUR*** between our initial call and waving goodbye to this crate! All of the logistics and fancy equipment don't compare to someone genuinely wanting to serve a customer in need <3

I contracted Smart Movers to move some very heavy large furniture (china cabinets; reclining sofas, …) last Friday afternoon including moving some large items down very steep narrow stairs in a 1960’s bungalow. I was amazed at how professional and strong the two young men were. They made sure everything was where we wanted and put back together. They asked us to make sure everything was as we wanted. I though they would be 3-4 hours but they had it done in under 2. I would definitely get them again and ask for Chris and Isaak too)

We were very happy with this company and employees.they were polite, very careful with everything and did an amazing job.in fact we have hired them again for the final move. I highly recommend them!

Close friends used this company and had their belongings held for ransom by the owner. Legal action is being persued. It's a shame because the initial quote was very reasonable & the movers themselves were super great. Avoid if you can, or budget an additional 2k on top of the quote that Jeff will attempt to weasel out of you.

Edit: for the owner who thinks this is fake - pickup was in Saint John the first week of June and drop off was in Hamilton on June 13th. I can copy and paste the exact email we sent to you & your legal representative if you'd like?

These people are scam artists. Please beware, they will take you for a ride and bill you extremely excessive amounts. Please think again before hiring these people.
The owner even comes checks the reviews and tells people they were never his customers.

Right from the qoute Smart movers was responsive to my questions and gave me a accurate and timely response.

The movers showed up right away in the morning and where eager and energetic to load up my stuff.

When they finished I was happy to see they sent the same crew on the unload because they where able to quickly reassemble my furniture!

Movers arrived earlier then was discussed (nothing was ready yet, because we expected them 2 hrs later) on a small truck, so had to do few trips. Worked slow, traveled to destination like turtles. Overcharged for 1 hr. To all the questions answered "I don't care". When we had a dispute regarding overcharging me for 1 hour, I tried to call office during business hours, but for sure nobody answered the phone. To my question about why their manager not answering the phone, they said that he might be in church (at 5: 20 pm on Tuesday), but he always answered when they called him. Also they refused to provide a receipt. Movers refused to assemble the bed frame, and left 35 minutes earlier, they said that they don't have enough time to do this, because there is another charge (30 mins) for traveling to my place in the morning. For some reason they take only cash and etransfer. Terrible service, won't recommend.

The two guys who moved my fridge from my place to another did a fantastic job. They were there right on time. They were professional, worked quickly and efficiently and put everything back in place before leaving. It was well worth the money to watch them move the fridge so carefully and then checking with me to see that I was happy with everything before leaving. Money well spent!

Jeff was very nice on the phone and found a way to squeeze me in their full day when he found out I was a student and have no family and friends here. The movers were super professional and efficient. Everything was done in 25 mins and I expected it would take atleast an hour and 15 mins.

I was so happy with every part of my experience with Smart Movers. They were the only company that called me after sending a quote, and Jeff explained every part of the quote and asked if I had any other questions. When I was ready to set the date, we arranged times and pickup/drop off and they accommodated my needs, as I was going to be out of town for a few days. The movers themselves were quick and professional, and protected my furniture and belongings. Everything arrived perfectly and the drop off was easy and quick. Thank you so much for making my relocation easy and worry-free!

Jeff is a scam artist. He quotes low and then doubles the cost and refuses to release your belongings until you pay. He is EXTREMELY racist and refuses to pay workers what they are owed. He thinks it’s funny to get people’s belongings and then withhold them to double profits. He puts fake reviews on here to try to cover up the scam artist he is. DO NOT use smart movers unless you are willing to pay DOUBLE the quote. Jeff is childish and Abusive to everyone and anyone. This is the most unprofessional company I have ever had dealings with.

BEWARE this company is a fraud under different names. The owner Jeff Smith, will give you a great deal over the phone but once he has your credit card info beware. He agreed to move one load of furniture from my previous house to the new house providing 3 men for an hourly rate of $55.00 per man with no travel charges because he was already moving the buyers into my old house and was in the area and was already paid travel fees. It is 15 Kilometers from the old house to the new one. I gave a deposit on my credit card for $297.50, big mistake. They arrived at the old house 7 hours late OK, only two men available with a cube van which could not hold the furniture I needed to move. Now for the best part this guy charged my credit card in the middle of the night before the move was even completed for $1413.50. When I finally got in touch with this guy through numerous calls with no return I managed to find a different number but when I identified myself he started screaming at me calling me vulgar names and threatening to sue me for everything I own and then he hangs up without me being able to say anything. I could go on with more but I think you will get the message. I even had to give this guy one star to be able to post but doesn't deserve it.

Move to my new home yesterday and this company asked me to provide and leave a comment for them of which I am happy to do. Very happy with the move. Have used these guys moving from apartment to apartment over the years in Fredericton. They were my first choice moving into our new home. Very happy they made themselves available during a very busy season for them. Always very professional. The Staff / Movers are friendly and very accommodating. They always wrap and cover my furniture and always cover my beds. I was happy to see them covering the hardwood floors in my new home. Thank you again Smart Movers and very satisfied.

I had 2 pianos to move in one day - each piano had a different starting and ending location.

Jeff Smith managed to get this set up for me within a few days notice and was very pleasant and professional to deal with. The piano moving crew (Chris, Dean and one other fellow whose name I did not get) were great! Obviously they had done this many times and were very professional and friendly along with being focused on safety and consideration of the properties the pianos were being moved from and to.

I highly recommend these folks and would definitely call upon them again!

Moved my daughter from Fredericton to Sherbrooke Quebec May 30. Very happy with the service. Very professional. Both there office and delivery driver kept me posted as to day and time of delivery. All the furniture items were properly wrapped and handle. Highly professional and will use this service again.

Paul was great to deal with. His estimate was spot on and he really went out of his way to fit us in for a last minute move.

The guys who did the move were very gentle with our possessions. I had no concerns at anytime. They were trust worthy and honest. I even felt comfortable enough leaving them to move as I had to run other errands.

The guys worked hard from 6pm to 3 am to get this job done. This was after an 8 hour move they had done right before ours. They did not complain or rush or get rough with the material.

I would go with this company anyday. They went out of their way to work hard into the night to see me get moved.

My 80 year old parents used this company to move a few items into storage. The owner Jeff told them he needed the money and credit card up front. He explained the charge would be 250 dollars. Once the items were delivered he charged the credit card another 250 for no reason or approval. When my retired father called Jeff he yelled and screamed at him. I decided to call to see if Jeff would explain himself for this additional charges and he told me i was a B%$#^ and hopes my parent die of cancer. This is truly the worse company i have ever heard of. Please beware of this company.

I have never dealt with a more unprofessional company. Their representative, I have to believe an owner or manager wouldn’t act like a toddler, was verbally abusive and degrading. He childishly disconnects the call when confronted with charging a credit card without authorization or breaching his own contract. Slightly unhinged is an understatement.

First off I find it funny that Jeff gives his own reviews on every site. The fact is this guy is a fraud and when you look at his past it very easy to see. He had to close his facebook site down cause so many bad reviews. He also had to close his old moving company Totten movers cause of the same reason. The rcmp is currently trying to speak with him but refuses to meet with them as he has his payment but refuses to give back the items. Look at his better business reviews as well! Its very easy to see he's a dummy. Beware all his addresses are owned by apple storage and not his addresses. No one is gonna take their time to do this just for fun. HE IS A FRAUD. I will disclose police report and email communications on all review sites to show what your dealing with here.

Jeff was polite over the phone and was responsive via email. The cost is very reasonable as well but something didn’t sit right with me - the deposit was much higher than all other companies I had spoken to as well, he requested credit card information sent to his personal email. When I asked why as all other companies do not do this he said for payment. This made sense but assured him we would pay upon drop-off, in which he informed me that full payment is due upon pick-up. This is different from ALL other companies as how are you to guarantee your stuff will arrive? This seems very strange to me and because of this we did not go with this company.

I’ve moved between provinces, territories and across Canada. You will always pay more than your movers quote. Your belongings will get broken; the only difference is the severity and frequency. Your move will not be on time as movers always overbook. That said - this company didn’t have any ‘secret surprise costs’ the move was just $500 more than the quote. The movers work hard and are under pressure. There are definitely worse companies out there. I wish there was some industry regulation. That said, I’d use them again because at least it wasn’t $3000 over the quote.

Despite our move being the morning after a major snowstorm, the crew showed up ready. They treated our furniture and awkward/heavy belongings with respect and damaged nothing. They also communicated effectively and were easy to get along with even though they had a very long day the day before. Would recommend.

Great company to work with even did two moves in one day to accommodate us. The movers were fast and never stopped between the moves for a break. Very pleased with them
