Edit: I've updated this review because the food quality here has drastically decreased, and the prices have increased. I used to go here frequently and now I go here never. There are far better places a short drive away that will be more budget friendly and way higher quality and care put in. I hope in the future I can change this review, but it's sad to say for now I will probably only go here once a year to see if they've improved.

I go here every time i'm down in Sussex. I recommend it to all my friends the food here is fantastic, Best sushi restaurant i've been to and I've tried a quite a few only one that tops it is one I tried in Ontario. Sometimes service can be slow but I can't even dock them on any stars because it's always worth the wait. If you think you don't like sushi at least try it once not all the sushi there has raw fish and sushi with fish is smoked so it's not even raw. Sushi from Sobey's or all you can eat buffets aren't sushi IMO and if that's all you have tried you should 100% give Sushi Jo's a try!

Nice to find another gem in Sussex. If you enjoy sushi they have a good selection and great quality!

Food was fresh, especially the sashimi. It was a bit thinly sliced compared to others. Service was good. Very friendly and accommodating. The issue we had was the aircon on a hot day. It was not enough to cool us down even with the portable air they got. Wish they had a better air-conditioning system, but overall it was worth trying.

We went for lunch, food, service and atmosphere were all very good. Very clean, the young man who served us was very kind, explained the menu and followed up several times. Food was very good, hot and well prepared. I'd go back anytime!

The food (chicken bibimbap and chicken teriyaki) was freshly made, lots of good vegetables (bibimbap), served hot and tasted great. There was also free soup and ice water. The service was very friendly. Only the ambience was rather businesslike and not exactly comfortable (but is typical for such restaurants). Free parking was plentiful in the area. Recommendation!

I was just driving thru, I really wanted a tofu teriyaki from my favourite place in Moncton but it was too late and I wouldn’t make it so I saw they had some. OMG soooooo gooood, so much larger and incredibly delicious. It was confirmed vegan. I want to drive back just to get it here EVERYTIME now. Tofu was the perfect texture and the veggies were mostly extremely thinly sliced cabbage which tasted a lot like a coleslaw but even better. I’ll be back when I drive thru Sussex.

We happened upon this stellar little restaurant while on a weekend away. I cannot rave enough about it. The food is exquisite, and the service was above and beyond. I'm tempted to drive here weekly despite the 5 hour round trip! We'll worth visit.

Travelling, arrived an hour before closing on a weekend and place was empty. Staff & service were excellent. Food was outstanding - of five items ordered, all were excellent and three were among the best sushi fare I've had anywhere ever.

Recommend.

The food is excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful. First time experience Sushi and it so good.

Food was hot and delicious! However, they are very small portions for the price. I would revisit however, I would be cautions of what I order now that I know what to expect.

I ordered a California Roll. It cost me almost $10. I picked it up and took it home only to find it was 6 pieces. Not only that, but found it sub-par to other sushi I have had from SJ or Moncton. I was disappointed with my experiences with Sushi Jo.

I was very impressed for a small, obviously family run restaurant. Me and my husband were looking for something to replace our regular sushi place back home in Ontario (we've moved to the province recently). This place had good, fresh food, big cuts, friendly service and fair pricing. Will definitely be back
