Swallowtail Lighthouse

Even though the lighthouse was all wrapped in plastic (presumably being fixed?), would still recommend. Nice little trail, cool bridge, good views, nice giftshop with a very friendly owner.

Beautiful spot, amazing views. The volunteers were very kind enough to tell us about the history and give a tour inside the lighthouse. Wish I clicked more pics inside, lots of history. Purchased a replica from the gift store as a souvenir. Amazing place and people. Will visit this place again for sure when I go back to Grand Manan Island.

The view was absolutely breathtaking. The hiking on the other hand told me that I was completely out of shape. Lol but it was worth every single step to see the beautiful views and to have a 360° view.

Nice scenery, great tourist attraction. Very educational. Only negative is there is no public washrooms.

If you are visiting Grand Manan Island, make sure you stop by this area to check out the sights. You may be lucky enough to see a whale in this location and if you time it right, you'll be able to see the ferry or other boats come into the harbour. We were lucky enough to see the Bluenose come in - amazing. Just a great spot to hang out and watch the ships pass by. It is a bit windy out at the point, so may be a bit chilly. Definitely recommend this area as part of your trip

This is one of the main attractions on Grand Manan Island and although it is just another lighthouse, the views from it and the trail are worth the visit. Parking lot only fits 5-6 cars max so you may need to park on the road.

Another very special piece of Grand Manan. Spectacular, rugged area with terrific views of the Bay. The main trails are wide and well groomed and most would have little trouble navigating them. Some are quite steep and could be a challenge for some. Other trails that navigate very close to the cliffs and the water below are narrow and there are no barriers so you need to pay attention and if you have kids in tow make sure to keep them close.

Good walk with awesome views. Over the cliffs you will be able to see harbour seals raiding fishing nets.

Such a beautiful place to visit. Dress warmly though as you will feel the wind off the ocean. You will honestly be glad you visited Grand MNnan Island. It is worth the ferry ride without a doubt.

A lot of community pride and hard work go into maintaining this beautiful lighthouse. One of the first things you see when you arrive on the Ferry to Grand Manan Island. On a sunny day you can see for miles and might even catch sight of a whale or two. We were fortunate enough to get a tour from the lighthouse keeper himself. There is nothing better than learning about the history of the building from such a friendly and knowledgeable man. We learned many things about the island itself and experienced the East Coast hospitality we have all known to love. The entire property is well maintained and there is a lot of history and information on various signs. Beautiful views all around. A must see location when visiting the island.

We went when it was foggy, but it was still very beautiful and kind of surreal. Very nice hike with an interesting history lesson along the way. Also purchased a couple trinkets from the gift shop at the entrance.

Truly beautiful view and location. Great for pictures. Definitely reccomend climbing to the top of the lighthouse. Make sure you pack for windy weather!

Absolutely amazing place to stay. Guests must commit to volunteer work of at least 4hrs per day and in return stay for free. Very spatious house with six bedrooms, a large and well equipped kitchen and a living room. Work tasks include giving tours in the lighthouse, sjifts at the giftshop or various paintjobs. The scenerie is absolutely gorgeous and the island has a lot to offer, both, in terms of nature as well as historical sites.

Amazing views. Sooooo beautiful. If you love to see nature at its best then this is a must visit.

Great views. So nice. We went to the top of the lighthouse with our two kids. Was $5 per adult. Kids were free. Staff was nice! Don't forget your camera.
