The Joyce Pub

It was okay. The food wasn't the most exciting I've had and the server didn't come around much, even though it wasn't busy. Not sure I'd go again.

I had the Halifax donair, and it was far from a halifax donair. I could make better, and that's not saying much. My husband had a pulled pork wrap, and it had very little taste, but it was a big meal. Their fries are interesting, and I will say good. It was busy, and they were having issues with serving and getting food out to people. We waited almost an hour and had to tell them we had to leave due to meetings that night.
The restaurant is clean and appealing to the eye. We went at 6 pm on a Sunday, so maybe give it a try, but not then!

Usually a pretty great spot but last time we were in, they forgot to put our order in and we had to leave for the playhouse across the road on an empty stomach. They Said they'd walk it over when it was ready but might have been hard to eat it in a pitch dark theater with a live performance going on haha. We'll give it another shot, everyone makes mistakes.

I had no choice but to give a star otherwise I would have given 0, the server seemed not to like french people.

Phenomenal staff and food.
Incredibly friendly staff and the beer selection and food are top notch, we ordered the garlic fingers to start and the pulled pork poutine.
I've had most poutines in fredericton, and I can say for certainly that the pountine here is one of the best in fredericton

Fries and atmosphere were great. Went for Dine around Fredericton. My wings had no sauce, burger was dry and very burnt, waiter would not acknowledge complaint. Awful.

Love the vibe here. It’s cozy cabin vibes meets classy bar theme. Server brought my partner the wrong beer but brought him a new one when we pointed it out and let us keep the other one for free!

What do you do when your husband is out of town and you live downtown? Walk to James Joyce and have a delicious caesar salad and a glass of chardonnay outside on their patio. Pamela was an awesome server! Wonderful evening.

First time there, the Staff are very polite and inviting. I've been to many restaurants all over the world and I have to say they serve the best nachos I've ever Eaten. My hubby and I will 110% be going back and I wished I could tip the chef too. Overall I'm very please thank you so much for great service and relaxing Atmosphere. My waitress got a good tip and again thank you all!

Have visited twice while staying at the hotel and had an enjoyable experience. We found most of the portions to lean towards the larger size (we've had leftovers both times) and trended towards a higher end pub fare style than traditional pub fare which meets the price point. Cozy atmosphere!

Went down to the James Joyce for my Birthday to have some drinks with Friends. I have always liked the James Joyce for its atmosphere. Very comfortable and very friendly staff. By the looks of the construction they will have a beautiful patio soon.

Some of the best food and drinks. A different but interesting location. Great service. Even the water tasted great! Perfect for a quick night out downtown.

Ever since the Ale House closed up shop this is my favourite restaurant. It's a little pricier but the food is always good and they have a large variety of brews on tap.

Service is always fast and friendly as well.

You know what pisses me off the most about this place? That people think it's good. It's not that it's horrible. But people seem to think it's really good and based on my experience it is not. When the best thing about your meal is the fries you have to really wonder what the hell is going on in the kitchen. I got the chicken sandwich. I would name it the glorified chicken nugget on a bun. I think sometimes Chef's think if you say "sous vide" and add micro greens you can charge $20. But when you have to wait 40 mins for it and it could get beaten by a Spicy Chicken sandwich from Wendy's then you know somethings wrong. I also got a side salad that was either forgotten to be dressed or so void of flavour that it may as well have been. Servers were great and gracious enough to give 20% off the cheque because even they must know that 40 mins and $30 for fast food is a crime and hopefully someone will read this and go to the drive thru instead.

So I'm stuck in Fredericton for work, and grab a room at the. No biggy. Get a hotel, eat some food from the restaurant, have a pint, relax. No problem right?

WRONG.

I sit down at the bar, grab a pint ask for my food to go. I'd rather eat alone in my room LIKE A HERMIT BECAUSE I DON'T WANNA BE HERE. So I politely ask for my food, to go.

I get a poutine and a pint of Niche Brewing Sour Raspberry ale, and a pound of suicide wings.

Now, I'm no stranger to spice. I've had sauces that were half a million Ccoville. The kinda stuff that'll melt through the plastic cup if you let it, so I figured "What ever, no big deal. "

It's been FORTY MINUTES and I've eaten TWO.

I'm now laying on the floor.
My nose is running like a faucet.
My eyes are watering.
It feels like someone has thrown a brick at my mouth.

All in all, great wings, 9/10
Would eat again.

A nice place to have a drink, lots on tap, and there are some good food options. It's pretty expensive though, especially when it comes to beer. One of the nice things is that cocktails are quite affordable, relative to the cost of beer.

The staff is super attentive and knowledgeable. It's my new go to for craft beer with like 31 beer on tap. Pair that with the untapped app and your always in the delicious know.

Although some of the food was underwhelmingly spiced, the quality more than made up for it. Everything was fresh and wonderfully plated.

Good food. Very pricey for what you get. We went in a group and it took very long to get our food. I probably won't be headed back.
