The Pirate restaurant at the Gray Rock Truck Stop can not care about the truck driver that stop here cause I am one of those drivers and went I try to place an order for my supper I was told sorry but we got behind and are not taking more orders. All I can say about this is that the truck stop would be better served my having a subways shop in it place or a better restaurant
Visited Edmundston over the weekend and found The Pirate. Great little place, located in the Truck Stop. Staff were super friendly, but the prices were a little high for Truck Stop food! The food tasted great which certainly softens the price a little.
The Pirate restaurant is wedge between a Tim Horton and a gas/convenience store, so during the day, it is busy. Had to wait a few minutes before I could order (there's a queue).
Went there hoping to get cooked lobster to bring back home, but The Pirate restaurant stopped selling cooked lobster since last year maybe because of covid.
Ordered the lobster roll and fried clam strips for the kids. We sat with other customers from Tim Horton as theres no dedicated section for customers of The Pirate. The kids said the lobster roll were bland, just some mayonnaise taste and that's it. But they loved the fried clam strip.
The people in Edmundston are very nice and friendly, will go back and visit again in the future. Hopefully The Pirate will restart selling cooked lobsters again.
We were robbed on the high seas! The old restaurant had much larger portions for the money! Food was good although portion size small. They are taking on water and beginning to sink!
First lobster roll for the trip-had classic, all dressed and garlic butter-11 dayse after Atlantic trip, had to go back before leaving. Delicious and best price so far!
Idk I was kinda disappointed. With tax and a small tip, $20 for a small lobster roll on a hot dog bun. Even the all dressed one didn't have much flavor to it I found.
I had the Lobster poutine. It was barely warm, with a tasteless sauce that had maybe a ounce of what looked like lobster and didn't taste anything. Very disappointed! The whole belly claims were good. For everything it cost $42.00 and small bottle of coke cost $3.74.
We arrived in Edmunston after 4 pm. The tourist bureau suggested The Pirate as the place for lobster. We had really good chowder and a lobster roll with fries both were excellent choices! Thanks
So I was staying nearby and decided to grab one of their Lobster rolls which seemed popular online. The reviews is only for their lobster roll snack which came in at 20 dollars including taxes. The fries were really crisp and fresh but the lobster roll itself was less than average and certainly not worth the hype.
Seafood looked amazing in pictures but ended up getting overcharged with my order. Got something I didn't ask for and didn't want, had thought it was just their taxes. Be careful with your orders.
I thought it’s a Seafood restaurant. Tried their fish and chips. They serve frozen fish was tasteless and bland and way too expensive. I only enjoyed their fries which were frozen again.not worth it
J'ai essayé leurs fish and chips.
For a "Seafood" fast food restaurant, they seem to have more non-seafood items on the menu than seafood items. Half the seafood items they do have on the menu are out of stock. No crab rangoons, again, I guess. The eating area is clean and they do ask for the Covid passport if eating in, which is good. I, also, was a victim of over charging. Even though I dined in, they charged me $2 for the takeout container my poutine came in. Don't expect to eat here for under $20 per person. I ordered a large poutine and 4 chicken nuggets (because the rangoons weren't available) and it cost me $23 with a $5 tip, that the cashier promptly asked for when I placed my order. The food was good, though. They do have the best poutine in Edmundston, right now. It was plentiful but they have a long way to go on pricing before they become a competitive "fast food" restaurant. Maybe they should be labelled as a seafood cantine.
Amazing service, delicious food. I recommend the lobster roll, the fish burger and the fish and chips. They were nice to accomodate us even though they were about to close.
The poutine is the best I've had in my entire life. The fries are perfectly crispy, the cheese curds had a sharp cheese taste and the gravy was delicious and not too salty. Best poutine in New Brunswick.
Really good price lobster. Really good lobster poutine and lobster roll. I would really recomend this place if you want to go to a good lobster restaurant in Edmunston.
