Beautiful waterfall with a few small pools to wade around in at the bottom. Hike to the falls is on a wide path and includes steep sections / stairs for the last 1km. Moderate in difficulty.
This was a very last minute plan that came together in a jiffy. Headed out to Fundy to a trail called Third Vault Falls trail. Amazingly there were no mosquitoes. Must be an Island thing. Altogether, this trek took the better part of 3 hours out and back with a rest at the falls. These guys (we) loved it. At least on the way there. Now coming back was a different story. We took a backpack with 4 full water bottles. Come to find out that was nowhere near enough. Lesson learned for next time. At any rate. If anyone is looking for a fun little day adventure, this right here is the ticket. A bridge fare. A bit of fuel, pack your own lunch/snacks, and 16.00 entry day pass into Fundy. Time well spent.
Great hike. Not too challenging at the beginning but the decent to the falls makes this trail a black diamond. Make sure you follow the stream which is part of the trail to reach the actual falls. You will see an end of trail sign at the falls.
Third vault Falls located on Laverty Road in Fundy National Park, Alma N. B. This is a beautiful easier hike on a wide, well beaten trail. Very easy to follow. The scenery is Beautiful, There are 3 sets of "Man made" stairs at the end of the hike at the Mouth of the Falls. The trail gets a little more moderate at the end while hiking down into the Gorge to get to the Falls. A hiking rating on this particular trail would be Easy (90%) to Moderate (at the End). Enjoy the View, Be Safe & Enjoy!
Fabulous hike with gorgeous finale at a waterfall with a chilly pool, deep and clear enough for swimming. Definitely wear decent shoes though, the terrain is not the easiest.
The trial starts of moderate then gradually turns into rough and steep terrain (near the end.) Loved Third Vault- well worth the day trip to N. B from P. E. I!
