Been here a few times, amazing food (especially the poutine.) amazing prices.amazing staff.i love it here so much and thank you to “the greek god” who shared his life story with us.

It was my first time visiting Tops, I have to say I can't wait to go back. I felt right at home interacting with the staff and other patrons. The Pizza and Garlic cheese fingers were delicious. The prices were great, the service was awesome. We had no issues finding on street parking. However and this is not a negative thing, bring cash, and if you don't, there is a little convenience store that has a bank machine!

My boyfriends family and I are visiting from Edmonton, AB and I must say we got the best service I could of ever imagined. You walk in and it’s a nice family friendly diner, you get very like old school diner type of a feel from this place. Good food at a great price (Especially the breakfast) and you get greeted and served by one of the nicest, most considerate servers I’ve ever met, she was a doll! Cook was so nice and I couldn’t thank him more for the kindness he showed me and my boyfriend. Will absolutely be coming back! And for everyone of thinking of trying this place, you definitely should!

For the price you can’t beat Tops’ breakfast. The atmosphere is classic diner. The bacon, eggs and pan fried potatoes are delicious. And they always make my breakfast just the way I like it. The service is excellent and the staff are always friendly. Just so you are prepared it’s cash only.

The kindest people are in Saint John. I was here visiting for 2 days and when I went to settle my bill, my waitress told me an anonymous couple in the restaurant picked up the tab. I've never had that happen ANYWHERE on this planet. I went back the next day hoping to do something similar, but unfortunately, they were closed. It was still the highlight of my visit. The food was hot, fresh, and tasty.

Every Thursday Tops serves homemade Pea Soup.couple that with a toasted ham and cheese sandwich and you have a winning lunch!

First of all the straws looks like their being re used their was dirt or something in my straw portions are good waiters could of given us a bit more time and ask at least twice if everyone certain and possibly ask more questions about the food items if needed place was clean food taken care of staff polite

I loved this. It was recommended by someone at the street and they were so right. Super friendly staff from Jackie to the owner and his daughter. Food was homemade and at an average quality considering the low prices. It place is clean and cozy and i can't recommended it enough. Remember cash only!

Haven't been in a long time but couldn't asked for a better experience food and staff are on point and this restaurant shares a special memory of me and my son.

Very good and friendly service. Old school style restaurant, good food, well maintained. The way restaurants "should be" rather than chain style corporate run profits over people machine like businesses.

Cash only. Great for breakfast. Good quality and price. Parking available. Friendly atmosphere and service. I definitely recommend it. Enjoy!

Felt like I was eating a tv dinner.
Staff was extremely ignorant
Got the chicken parmesan and it looked like two chicken nuggets.
Home made meat sauce tasted very strong of cinnamon.
Garlic bread was two thin pieces of bread with cheap cheese and chunks of onion
Spaghetti was boiled WAY too long

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Ask way to high prices for the garbage quality of food.

After I ate here I had to go somewhere else to enjoy a good meal and wash the taste of cinnamon out of my mouth.

I don't rate places as a 5 unless I go back a few times and find an establishment to be consistent.
With that said. I have zero regrets from my first visit and would not hesitate to recommend Tops to anyone in the area looking for a great diner.
Coffee was good, Service was excellent, Food quality and quantity was well above average for a mom and pop diner. Prices very competitive and especially their daily specials which are true specials!
Would not hesitate to go again.

God awful service. Food is way to expensive for what its worth. The garlic fingers are a joke. You wont catch me coming in this place again. If I could give this place a zero I would.

Great local favorite. Their Chicken Parm is a great option at an affordable price. I am yet to try their pizza but have heard great things. Location is not in the absolute best area of the city but the staff are great, so is the food quality and pricing. They never disappoint!

This is a a great place to eat or order takeout. The meatloaf is amassing and the prices are very affordable. I love Tops pizza! They also have a the best bacon and eggs on the menu. This has to be one of the most affordable places to eat for the service and quality of the food. Highly recommended!

I have been going here since I was a little girl. The people who work here are friendly and the food has a home cook taste to it. The prices are great. Love it and plan to go many more times in the future.

I'd only been in Saint John for one day and wanted breakfast to set up my first day in the city and Top's had exactly that. The service was friendly without being overly smoothering, my order arrived quickly, breakfast was delicious (pancakes and bacon), and most importantly the coffee was wonderfully fresh.
I would recommend visiting here if you want an 'old style' dinner meal served with a smile and at a good price.

There was dust on the walls near my food, the service was good and the server was nice, The pizza was good yet sloppy, The fries and Gravy wasnt like it used to be BUT still good, my only complaint is the placed needs to be dusted a little more around the ledges/tables other than that it was a pretty good experience!

I will always love Tops. The small town diner feel really makes for an enjoyable time, plus there is no wifi so it's nice to not have electronics present when eating ️

Best chicken parm in the city. Tops is 1 of our go to places for dinner out. Best chicken and rice soup I've ever had, hands down.

Excellent food, good service and low prices. All homemade meals and desserts. This place has been here for decades. Definitely a local favorite! They only accept cash though.

The eggs served look like quail eggs they were so small the coffee was so much subpar the toast arrived at the very end of the meal for the person that only ordered toast with Jam the home fries tasted like fish and chips other than that the Sun was shining through the window and it was a great morning to be alive

Every time I'm downtown, I make it a point to eat there. Pleasant staff.

Had the fish and chips. Fish was fresh and the batter was fabulous. French fries are amazing here as well! Lovely atmosphere and fantastic staff.

Been coming here for years. It's like a second home with lots of faces that I look forward to seeing. Wishing them continued success and I will be there to support that success. The menu is simple but healthy and filling food options. The best part is the prices are reasonable. 12$ for a clubhouse platter for example. One of my favorites! Highly recommended!

This is a must go if you visit Saint John. The food is so good and the prices are amazing but it's the people that we go for. It has an old world feel and the waitresses and the owner are some of the most amazing people in the restaurant industry in this town. Only downfall is cash only but I can live with that.
