William and Water restaurant and bar

We dined late in the evening on a quiet weekday night. The food and service was excellent. We often order a starter and entree to share, so their menu was a great fit for us. The miso-butter in the scallop dish was incredibly tasty! Ask for bread to sop it it up as the bread is quite good too.

Best restaurant in town, hands down. If you find yourself in St. Andrew’s, heading to William and Water is a must. Interesting and delicious food, fun atmosphere, quality service. Place has it all!

A pleasant surprise we thoroughly enjoyed! It stood out immediately for us on the entire street of seafood. A well-thought-out and balanced menu with plenty creative ingredients and spices. Highly recommend!

Some of the food was very tasty, some was too spicy and some was presented as being gluten free when it was not. Overall, it was a positive experience. We arrived late in the day so that may have impacted our experience. The servers were all very welcoming and helpful.

Highly recommended! We ordered the marinated tomatoes, smashed fried potatoes, atlantic lobster tacos and for desert cake and Crème brûlée. All of it was delicious. In addition we drank Moscow Mule and Aperol, which was very good, too. The service (of Luke and others) was also perfect.

Creative and complimentary flavors. We were pleasantly surprised because the menu is so unusual. But we found the chicken, shrimp and rice, mussels and toast to be the perfect late night dinner. Pinot noir by the glass was very nice. Thanks for being open late (what is not considered late elsewhere) …very attentive wait staff. Loved this food after passing up on the menu the previous night. The menu is not extensive. However, give these fantastic, unusual dishes a chance. Wonderful! Highly recommend. Great find.

Modern culinary excellence showcasing outstandingly fresh ingredients.

We scour cities for cuisine that is on the next level almost every chance that we get. W&W hits the mark with their approach to ingredients, flavor, and presentation. Having lived in SF for 10 years and now running a market garden to bolster the quality of whole foods, I must say to all the foodies in the house that this place is for you.

We had a fantastic meal here! The menu is share plates, larger servings than other tapas style restaurants we’ve been to. Each plate was phenomenal. Highly recommend!

Editing my rating to leave a detailed review. I had not realized I had to scroll down to do so. This was an awesome 1st dining experience for me, as I wanted to treat myself. I was very impressed. Nice little place. I sat at the bar- service was excellent. Staff friendly and courteous. Asked to have the Chef "surprise me" and cook what he wanted to showcase. Very very happy to have had the Mussles Escabeche as an entrée- amazing and the bread was wonderful! Then, William himself, comes out with the 2nd course -Atlantic Lobster tacos - WOW! I was happy to be able to thank him personally and compliment his cullinary talent. Lot's of flavors going on in those Tacos! The wine was perfect and as much as I would've liked dessert, me belly was happy. Would definitely return and recommend to anyone! Keep up the good work folks! Thank you and all the very best to you!

Festive atmosphere. Lively. Music may be a little loud for some but not as loud as some reviews make it out to be. Easy to maintain a conversation.

Apps. Mussels. 10/10. Exquisite. Don’t share this. Keep it for yourself. Smashed cabbage. 6.5/10. A little vinegary. To be shared.

Mains. Beef with curry sauce and crispy noodles. 9/10. No feedback to make it a 10. Purely subjective.
Tuna Poke. Wild caught. Very very good. 8/10. Again…no constructive feedback. Very very good.

Well priced.

If we were here another day, we’d be back 100%.

Been here 3 times now, we are hooked. Food, service and atmosphere are great! Fantastic addition to the town!

Service was great.however we thought the portions were too small for the price you pay for each dish. We were told they were sharing portions but the portion size would basically fit on a side plate.the average main dish was $25. We had 2 dishes and 2 cocktails and the bill was just about $120 with gratuity. We left hungry.

We had a fabulous dinner here last night. Everything we ordered was spectacular with fresh ingredients and flavours. The lighting was a little too bright for our taste but that is a small thing in a wonderful experience.
