I live in New Glasgow NS. After hurricane Fiona our generator required warranty repairs. The local Generac Dealer, Natpro lost certification to do warranty work for Generac.
Generac connected us with 1st electric in Lucasville NS.
1st electric arranged to have a technician come to New Glasgow, they were well equipped did several diagnostic tests determined the problem ordered the parts and completed the warranty work.
Their service was top notch, very professional, courteous and all issues were addressed efficiently.

1st Electric was contracted by my heat pump contractor to do the electrical work associated with hooking up three outdoor units to our electrical panel. Let me start off by saying that I own a construction company, so it takes a lot to impress me. That said, I have to say these guys were top notch. While the heat pump guys were long gone, the 1st Electric crew stayed until the bitter end to get everything connected. I have already asked them to return to do some other work for me. Professional, committed and courteous and kept me in the loop with what they were doing. I do not hesitate to give them 5* and would highly recommend them. The technician came to our home to do some home generator maintenance. He was on time, very courteous, asked questions and immediately went to work on the generator. On completion, he came to the door and described in detail what he had done in layman's terms and expressed his pleasure in having completed the job. He also happily answered any questions that I had. I was very impressed with his professionalism. He is an asset to the company!

Well qualified contractor! Brianna, Dan and Glen arrived on site when inspected. After viewing the site Dan recommended locating the transfer switch in the basement by our electrical panel rather than outside by the meter. We accepted and really appreciated his recommendation as it didn’t add to our cluttered wall outside our back entrance. They proceeded with the installation and all went very well. We really appreciated their knowledge and workmanship. Great job girl and guys. Your professionalism shone thru.

Amazing service and very professional. Our generator stop working during a storm, of course it was a Saturday. The technician was on site within 3 hours. Explained what was broken, how it was fixed and what preventative measures to take so it doesn't happen again.

Someone showed up on a Thursday at lunch time. Was told by him that I would have a quote by end of day. I didn't receive one so I called the next day. Was told by the lady the he is in the office one day and out of the office the next. So understanding that he is busy, I would give him a week to send me a quote. A week later and I call called back as I still haven't received a quote. Found out he was the owner. Very disappointing that a local business can't be bothered to do as he said.

We would like to give a shout out to Chad and his team at 1st Electric, a local company, who supplied and installed our whole home generator, a 14kw Generac Generator System. From the initial communications to the installation everything was top notch and truly a turnkey operation. The professionalism, quality of workmanship, communication and attention to detail was outstanding, We researched other products and companies and 1st Electric was by far the most competitive in pricing, timeline for installation (they had everything on hand), a 7year warranty and they coordinate everything with NSPower, permits, propane etc so it was hassle free for us. We have no problem giving them a 5 star review! Again thanks to Chad, Glen, Josh, the crew and his office staff their excellent work and product.

From the initial visit and assessment with Chad to the day the work was professional, tidy and as per quote. The advice offered was with our interest and costs first. All 1st electric staff explained what work was involved, how it would proceed, and exactly how long it would take. They coordinated with NSPI and the other contractors to upgrade our electrical service and install of our heat pumps. They also answered our questions and provided a separate quote for a generator install. We would definitely recommend 1st Electric to anyone needing electrical work!

Called during yesterdays storm, suggested by one of nspower people. They came right over, replaced my downed power service. Power was back on by the night. Excellent service by Simon and all the other people involved

I don't tip for lousy service and I don't arbitrarily give out five-star ratings, but this is the second time we brought 1st Electric on board to help us with a residential project. The first time was to upgrade our property to sell, and the second time most recently to bring our retirement home up to snuff for an occupancy permit and insurance purposes. It is absolutely true - you get what you pay for. If you want the job done right the first time by qualified people who know what they're doing, and are good communicators with their client along the way, then 1st Electric is your go-to. Everyone we have dealt with, spoken with and had in our home from 1st Electric is knowledgeable, appreciative and conscientious - we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them, and invite them on board again on another project.

During a recent snowy, wind storm, a massive tree fell on our power line to the house & also bent the power mast in half. My call to 1st Electric was answered right away and it was a Saturday morning I might add! Jonathan was super professional, friendly and got his staff working on our repair right away. In less than two hours, after a visit to the shop to get supplies and driving on snowy roads, Glen & Josh were at our house & fixed the broken power mast if a jiffy! They did a wonderful job - especially having to work outside in the freezing cold weather. Both staff were friendly, positive, knowledgeable and answered all my questions - with a constant smile on their face! They took care of all of the arrangements with NS Power from the permit, safety inspection and power hook up. This was my first time using 1st Electric but I know that if I ever need an electrician again, I will be sure to call them. I highly recommend them.

After the ice storm we had some damage that required the services of an electrician and a neighbour referred us to 1st Electric. Glen and Gerald were both great to deal with, they provide great service at a very reasonable price.

Excellent emergency service! Overnight storm brought done the mast and cable supplying our home. 1st Electric's super techs replaced the mast, liaised with NSP, and had power on by 5: 30 pm the same day I called.

We had 1st Electric come out to do a quick fix to help convert out bathroom's baseboard heater into our in-floor heating system during a renovation - there were very quick to dispatch someone and our electrician did great work. Can't wait to have them back to help with more renos!

Glen and James of 1st electric installed a home Generac generator last week. They were both very professional, easy to work with and kept me informed throughout the day long installation. They coordinated the service with Wilsons for the propane installation and NS Power for inspection and hookup. The entire installation went smoothly and they cleaned up after the installation was complete.

Researching a standby generator repeatedly led me to 1st Electric as the provider of choice for a turn-key solution. The clincher came when I started seeing their trucks attend a renovation job next door. Our new neighbour works in the home construction business and couldn’t say enough good things about the company. Gerald is a wonderful first point of contact who enthusiastically explained their services and set up a consultation. Chad, the company president, conducted a phone consultation and then a site visit to create our detailed estimate. He is a wealth of information and provided options for partial and whole home solutions. I did not feel any sales pressure whatsoever. I spoke with a couple of other employees to accept the estimate and pay a deposit. Everyone has been pleasant and professional. So far, so great!

Very professional and prompt. The electrician that came by was even more concerned with making it look good than I was. I had called to have a 240V outlet installed in my garage for my EV and they did a great job!

I highly recommend 1st Electric. Our plug outlet for stove/oven needed replacing on Christmas Eve, no less. We contacted them Xmas Eve morning. Was surprised to learn they were still open, and were sending an electrician within the hour. Glen, the electrician, was prompt, polite and professional. He even put the stove back in place. If not for 1st Electric, our Xmas Dinner would have been a peanut butter sandwich! 1st Electric were a pleasure to deal with.
