Our favourite hidden gem! Their lobster rolls can’t be beat, and the staff are so wonderful!

Worth taking a detour for! Very generous portions of some great classics, and the staff are always fantastic!

Glorious haddock and perfectly fried WHOLE CLAMS! And the price was fair for good generous portions. My man and I can't wait to go back!

It's an ok place to have a quick bite. Generous portions for the fish. I wished they served handcut fries instead of frozen ones. Also, may not be the right place in HRM to get a poutine as they do not use curds.

The pizza was very greasy, and we didnt feel good after eating the pizza and garlic fingers. It will be our last time buying pizza from here.

First time we were there was the day after they reopened after the wildfires, so it was Busy. Still quick, friendly service and the girl at the counter was bouncing! We had the fish and chips which actually fed us both twice. Delish.
Second time we went they let me pick up a few minutes after they were technically closed because I had a meeting that finished right at their closing time, 7pm. Amazing customer service. We had the 2 medium pizza special, cause you can't beat that price, and the pizza isn't bad either. Home made crust and generous toppings. The cheese lovers' may have even found the limit of too much cheese! We'll be getting the pizza again.

The food and service is consistent. The owner Brandon is very nice and professional The fish and chips are large and well priced. I’d have to say this is the best fish in the HRM.

Just stopped in for the fish and chips and highly recommend both the food and the service. Needless to say we'll be back.

Ate here with my Kids and dad. Service was amazing the food size was well worth the price and the food was amazing. Will drive there just for the relaxed environment!

My first time stopping at Acadian was tonight, the staff were very friendly. I ordered clams & chips for hubby and feeling pretty hungry, I got 2 piece fish & chips for me. A short 10 minute wait and I was on my way home. It was then I discovered just how large the portions were, lol! But everything was so good, we stuffed ourselves anyway. Big servings of fish, nice, light batter, loads of clams and the fries were crispy and very tasty. Next time we get a craving, no question we'll be ordering from here again!

Amazing lobster roll. Went in the off season and menu selection was limited. Would most likely rate higher in the regular season.

Went there today for fish and chips. We used to go to. Truro. This place is closer and much better

Well I must commend the staff for their excellent customer service! I ordered, over the phone the (2) 2 piece fish and chip special $21.99 (a fantastic deal). With this great deal it’s understandable that they were sold out of the product made for that day, however, they were quick to assure me they would have my order ready within a half hour! Not a problem, when they are honest about the time and apologetic about the wait! When I arrived, 20 minutes later, the staff were extremely friendly, and the food was ready within 5 minutes of walking in the door!
The fish was perfectly battered and fried, and the poutine was amazing!

Next up to try…… the donair pizza! (Ive heard their pizza is amazing!)
I will be back.

First time dining at Acadian Fish and Chips and it will not be the last! Amazing customer service, excellent portion sizes and the food was delicious. Plan your next lunch or dinner at this restaurant, you won't be let down!

I ordered from here 3 times and 2 times the fish was really grease the Better was not done. That's the last time you will get my money.

This wonderful place has the BEST fish and chips, pizzas, donairs.gosh EVERYTHING! Their portions are very generous and the owner and staff are AWESOME! Very clean restaurant too!

Best lobster roll I've ever had. Their clams are amazing. I brought family from Alberta here and they loved the chowder.

They do not answer the phone. There inbox is always full. They do not open at their posted time. The garbage bin in parking lot is overflowing with trash everywhere on the property. This place has gone down hill fast. The owners must not care anymore. Don’t waste your time with this lousy place.

Great service and the best fish I've had in a long time. Next time I'm trying the lobster roll. It looked amazing!

Great pizza price at $20 for two medium on Monday and Tuesday. Pizzas were average quality. Well worth the price.

Worst service ever! Sunday June 19th 2022
My mom and I went for supper here. We both were craving the lobster roll. Could not wait to try what everyone brags about being the best there is. To begin with the service was absolutely horrible. I ordered 2 lobster rolls, one with fries. They brought our food to the table and didn't give us forks or condiments. The rolls had 4 to 5 tiny bite size pieces with no Mayo. The sandwich was all lettuce. The guy came over and asked how everything was. I responded with it's OK but could we please have some forks and ketchup please. The guy says sure. That was the last we saw of the guy. Noone brought over forks or ketchup. We had to eat the coleslaw using the fries. Absolutely worst service we've ever had! I sent them a personal message on Facebook and they read the message but didn't respond. Then I went to their website and sent my complaint and then was blocked off their Facebook page. We paid $22 x2 for this terrible meal and not one person could get back to us. I would not recommend going to this restaurant.

A family favorite, great food all around, good portions at a reasonable price, and the service is excellent

Service was wonderful but the fish was not completely cooked. The ends were over cooked and the middle had gooey batter.

Had the family fish and chips. Fish was 2 full fish fillets per person. There was enough for lunch the next day. It would be nice to do half family size. Food was well worth the money

Acadian fish and chips is the best fish and chips takeout I've found in the Halifax area. Real friendly staff. Full size fillets, great fries (and Newfie fries!).

Ordered clams & chips with extra clams, extra tartar. The clams were complete mush, no flavour or crisp. Only gave one tiny pack of tartar sauce and cheaped out on the fries. I drove 35 minutes to try this out after hearing so much good about the food.won't be back.

This is a great place with great food. The fries are home made and the fish was tender with a crisp batter.
These guys were very generous with my order. I ordered 2 two piece meals and when I went to pick up my order, they had added 2 extra pieces of fish because one of the pieces of fish had split. Wow! I'll definitely be back. Thanks guys!

Fish was great and portions were big. French fries were cold.

Wanted to eat outdoors but the picnic tables were full of rot.

First experience was disappointing.

Today the clams and chips were not enjoyable, overcooked and tasted old. Last time I had them was on Mother’s Day and they were awesome. To bad as I was hoping for consistency. Friendly guy at the counter may be the owner. Portions are huge.

Amazing seafood and staff are the nicest people out of all the restaurants I have eaten at in Hammonds Plains. I recently moved into this area and love how welcoming this fantastic community has been, hands down this is my fav restaurant to eat from. I ordered food from other local spots and there is no comparison from the polite friendly happy outgoing atmosphere at Acadian Fish and Chips. I would rate this 10 stars if I could!

The donair meat they make is true Nova Scotian the best you can buy, I could eat honestly 7 days a week here. Moving from Dartmouth this is one of my pros in moving to Hammonds Plains:)

Always awesome food and the very best customer service! Really friendly and go above and beyond, which is pretty rare these days. The fish and clams are especially good.and the pizza is great too. We will be going back more often to support them - like I said, the outstanding customer service makes Acadian shine!

I got the Clams and chips, needed a doggie bag. Very good for sure. I haven't been there in a few years, but will get fish next with a salad lol. Tk you again well worth the money

We ordered the Seafood Platter plus an extra piece of fish to share. The portions were huge and the seafood was cooked to perfection. We highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Fish & chips. Takeout. Fish fillets were large, excellent enjoy the batter nice and light. Cole slaw was not what I liked & could have had a little bigger amount of tartar sause for 2 pieces of fish, not made on site prepackaged. Will go back.

Picked up take out lobster rolls. I am from the south shore and my bestie is from Canso.high expectations. Friendly service, eager to please, and timely. One of these rolls contains a lobster. Thank you, highly recommend

This is a hidden gem in the Hammonds Plains area. The fish and chips is truly delicious, with nice flakey white haddock done to perfection and the chips are served hot and fresh. You would be doing yourself an injustice to not try it at least once.

The fish had too much of batter, and greasy. The fries was also old and greasy. The donor was old, horrible and spicy and scraps. We will never visit there and I do not recommend them.

I have tried so many fish and chips restaurants across the Atlantic, and Acadian has to be my favourite. The food is fabulous, service is amazing, and the owner is very nice. Definitely try them out!
