Alt Hotel Halifax Airport

Super convenient if you get in late or your flight was canceled. Clean place, nice decor. Friendly staff, a bar on site.
No real breakfast to mention though, grab and go is what they call it and there wasn’t much to grab.

Rooms were absolutely disgusting, black mold in the shower, carpets filthy, stains on the furniture. We switched rooms due to these concerns and were met with the other shower also having black mold, carpets dirty and the bathroom sink would not drain for hours. The only nice thing about this hotel was the location. For the price I will take a shuttle from another hotel in the area. Would not recommend.

I regret to say that my stay at ALT Hotel Halifax Airport was highly unsatisfactory. Despite the hefty price tag of 350 dollars per night, the condition of the room was subpar. The sheets had noticeable holes in them, which is completely unacceptable for a hotel at this price point. Adding to the disappointment, the fridge in the room was broken, further inconveniencing my stay. This experience fell far short of what I expected and I hope the hotel takes immediate steps to address these issues for future guests

Rooms are great, big beds with floofy pillows, good showers, decent coffee making facilities.

The Pizza place attached is great, pretty reasonable prices, and pretty good pizza, decent selection too.

The bar has a great selection of Draft, canned and bottled beers, as well as a couple ciders. Spirits selection is good too.

Staff behind the bar were all really really friendly too. I guess what they say about our Candian cousins being nice people is true!

Very central, right by the airport, so perfect when you're tired after a long flight and want to put your feet up. The service was also very good and everyone was super friendly. The rooms were large, bright and clean. Directly opposite there is a bus stop that practically runs every half hour and was also used by us.

We had a good stay but you have to request to have our room cleaned and your bath towels.

I guess 2019 changed business but not my expectations of services

Air Conditioning system in my room was woefully inadequate for summer season at this hotel.
I checked in after a late flight. When I got to my room I knew something was amiss when my room was hot upon my arrival (25c, when thermostat was set at lowest setting: 21c). Staff was unable to do anything to rectify the problem. I asked for another room, employee was reluctant to give me a different room.
In the morning, as sun began heating the room up, temperature rose significantly.

Also, window blinds did little to make room dark as sun came up.

Slept very poorly, very uncomfortable room.
I do not recommend staying here.

It's handy to be staying right at airport when you're returning your rental car and have an early morning flight. But we had a terrible experience here. They gave us a room that was already occupied! Imagine our surprise, as well as the poor woman in the room, when we unlocked her hotel room door and prepared to walk right in! How upsetting! We received an apology and an offer to escort is to our next room, though.

- partial apron views (better on higher floors).
Cons:
- Understaffed
- lots of wear & tear in room.

Always love spending my first and last day in Nova Scotia at Alt before taking off and after landing!

First impressions are great. But don’t let that fool you. The devil is in the details. This hotel may appear new and chic, but it has design flaws and its quality just didn’t live up to its looks.

Cons:
- Blinds that do not work. The rooms face the airport which is lit up 24/7 and has flashing lights
- Stationary cosmetic mirror very high on the wall that barely tilts/is not useable by anyone under 6ft
- 2x3 ft shower with a door half of its size that swings IN.
- Exorbitantly priced cafe with soggy sandwiches.
-VERY, and I mean tooo soft of a bed

For nearly $300 a night regular price, I’d expect better.

Pros:
- connection hallway to the airport
- funky looking
- pool, although I never got a chance to use it

Ideal for those with an early flight are just staying a night, and can fork over $300,

Convenient location attached directly to Halifax International Airport. Service was excellent and rooms are trendy and nice. The only thing missing is they need to have smart TV'S in the rooms so guests can stream Netflix/YouTube directly onto the TV's. Most hotels are doing that now, so hopefully ALT Hotels follow the trend.

We had some high expectations for this expensive hotel experience. However, we were slightly disappointed with our stay. Our door was very difficult to open and close due to some friction or some catching on the top. There was no mini fridge. The alarm clock, which we did not set, went off at midnight. I tried to turn it off in a half-awake stupor but it went off again an hour later, disrupting our five hour sleep. I eventually just unplugged it.

Room was small. No fridge or bottled water. No restaurant to get meals. No information about amenities in the room had to ask front desk. Key-card had to be reset twice.

Very very very run down. It seems like this is literally for travelers who stay for a night and leave early in the morning. Service was lacking in all respects. Upon coming in from the airport, no one was at the desk, there was no signage to indicate where reception was. But I do think that this is a result of lack of staff. The rooms themselves are super old and not maintained at all. The hotel being right at the airport doesn't necessary mean you be stuck with horrible rooms, does it? The price certainly doesn't reflect it.

Great location being attached to the airport, makes it super easy to collect your baggage and get to your room. I stopped in overnight between two flight segments, and it makes it easy to not have to worry about catching a cab or a shuttle. Rooms are as expected for an Alt hotel. Very modern, well laid out rooms. The roll down window shade was a little rough and a bit beat up. Beds are always super cozy and soft at all the Alt hotels I have stayed at. The bar in the lobby is nice and offers a decent selection of drinks and heat your own food options. I believe you can order pizza from the bar as well. The check in process is seamless and quick. Overall a good experience for a weary traveller.

Slick, arty, cool, well priced, hotel connected to the airport. A little refrigerator in the room is nice. Also, the bathroom has one wall that is a glass window into the bedroom/sitting area. This is a little strange and seems like an odd fetish of the designer.

Great chic rooms and affordable. Front desk was super helpful with questions and suggestions. Absolutely satisfied as a returning customer.

This hotel is so accommodating when I comes to traveling with pets.
The room is prepared before your arrival with bowls, beds and even kitty litter box.

We have used this Alt Airport hotel almost every time we've come to or left Nova Scotia. We highly recommend this hotel, it's convenient location and great rooms for a very comfortable Airport experience

The location is great and the service was fantastic. Rooms smelled a little musty or something, but the beds were very comfortable. Pool was closed, which was a bummer but not a deal breaker.

This hotel is always clean and fantastic. It's also a great place if you want a bar before catching a flight (before security).

Checked in at the last minute due to bad weather. A little bit pricier than some, but the convenience was as terrific as the room. Spotless and everything you could need. Shower was so relaxing and the bed was heaven. The staff I saw were all terrific as well. I would absolutely recommend them and stay there again.

Welcoming Staff, Clean room and comfortable beds. Even though by the airport it was quiet. After travelling 40 hours it was a very welcome respite from travelling. Will stay there when ever travelling to NS

Only good things to say about this place. The price is good service quick friendly and you cannot beat the location if you're flying out no need to even go outside

We had a great stay at the ALT! The bed and pillows were the best from any hotel we’ve stayed in recently. Great customer service from front desk staff. Rooms clean and had everything we needed. 10/10 would stay again and recommend.

Excellent spot for a pre or post trip stay. Quick access on pedestrian walkway, with modern, clean and quiet rooms.

The place looks kinda worn.told it had a restaurant.it does not kinda like a 7.11 packaged foods and some microwaves.

I always enjoy my stay at the Alt Halifax Airport, the best location for catching an early morning flight. The room I had this time gave me an awesome view of plane taking off and landing. True hospitality!

Everything you'd expect from an airport hotel. Easy check in, a cafe with sandwiches, wraps, chips, salads and beverages. There's a bar too, butt we didn't use it. Nothing fancy, but very useful for a stop over night.

We were on one of the last flights into the airport. After we picked up our bags and made it over to the hotel, the check in was very efficient, the room was cool and I. Was able to get a nice cold beer to relax before sleeping.

The room was dark, dreary, not well cleaned, fridge full of water not bottled, no A/C in feels like 41 heat. Desk staff told me it felt fine to him it should be good, he wasn't stuck on planes and in airports with no air or A/C. Felt like I was intruding on his evening. Shining spot the beautiful young lady with the red hair at the bar who also tried to fix the A/C for me and took my bags down for me. Superstar service there. Unfortunately I won't recommend the hotel to any of my many many traveling friends.

Alt Hotel made travelling out of Halifax Stanfield Airport completely stress free. Easy to book on line, reception was warm, inviting with a "we can do" attitude. Excellent front desk, clean simple functional rooms. A two thumbs up if travelling in or out of Hailfax if you require hotel accommodations.

The place is well located with Halifax airport view and staff are very friendly. The hotel has rooms with very creative designs. The prices are reasonable and food tasted good.

Clean and modern, nicely designed and appointed. TIP: Avoid rooms closer to the roof as they are NOISY.

Outstanding the best hotel service I had. Even though I was talking to the staff over the phone. (when our son was stranded in Halifax.) The first question before any reservations were made the kind staff member known to us as Abraham asked where our son was. I told him at the airport. He said tell your son to come over here. It's very cold outside. From there on I knew my son had a welcoming warm place for the night. My son said the staff went out of there way to help him and is very thankful to the staff at the Halifax Alt Hotel.

Very modern style and functional for its main purpose as a airport connected hotel. No restaurant, but a decent selection of food from the "store". Very practical if you have a 6: 30 am flight the next morning.

Very nice. Fast internet. Nice staff. Excellent cold food choices on check-in level. Good value on food for money for dinner. Will stay again.

This is a good hotel option for a night stay at the Halifax Airport. Very comfortable beds. The room design is contemporary, but slightly uncomfortable in that the lighting is very dim at night, and the bathroom is not very private if you're sharing the room. Great for couples/honeymooners, not great for friends or families.

Pros- view was great, room was nice, easy access to the airport, and the beds were clean.
Cons- no parking, bathroom wasn’t the cleanest, pool was closed and there were no signs to let anyone know, also the lady at the front desk could barely speak english so she was very hard to understand.
Overall we had a great stay but I think this place is overpriced. Online it says the rooms are around $118 a night but I ended up paying close to $200 for a 1 night stay.

Hands down the greatest customer service I have ever experienced at a hotel. Modern upscale rooms with a nice catina located in the lobby. Casey was amazing and helped me greatly locate my way around town and showed me the ropes. Made nova scotia everything I expected and more. Will be back.

I love this hotel. The convenience and how clean it is kept is amazing. I do find it a little expensive for room rates and the restaurant menu items but the convenience factor is the trade off. Highly recommend it.

Recently stuck in Halifax Airport overnight and stayed at the Alt Hotel at the terminal.

Room was small but very nice and well appointed with a great layout. For the price it was an excellent choice

Comfortable beds. Easy check in and out, and easy access to both airport and it’s parking. Worth the extra money spent, in comparison to the alternatives nearby for sure

I stayed at the Alt last night with my husband. We were in room 1007 it was like every room at this hotel, small but has the basic necessities. The room was very clean, the bed small but plush. The problems we had were that the heat was stuck on and couldn't be turned down which made the room like a sauna. We had to call the front desk late at night because both of us couldn't sleep in that temperature so they could get someone to fix it. The rooms are so close that every time someone closed their door it shook ours, not the best for trying to have a restful sleep. The guys in the room down the hall from us must have been having a party because they kept leaving their room late at night causing this to be a big problem. So needless to say it's the morning after, I've already had 2 coffees and I still feel tired.

Rooms were spacious, modern and soundproof. No noise from airport at all. Great little restaurant. Parking garage is attached to hotel. Odd that reception is on second floor, but makes sense if you parked in the garage which has walkway directly to check in.

5 stars BECAUSE great smelling soap and hair products in pump bottles. No single use plastics in hotels. Love this! Thank you, thank you. The staff were so friendly and the building has an modern yet organic quality I enjoyed. Bed was ZZZZZZzzzzzzz

A short but great stay at this uniquely designed hotel. Perfectly situated right next to the terminal.

Extremely convenient place to stay before or after flying, the hotel is connected to the airport so there is no need to even go outside. Rooms are very modern and sleek, one thing to be aware of is that every room has a glass shower where one side of it actually backs on to the room (glass is frosted). May not be idea for some depending on who you are sharing the room with. Hotel had pool and gym facilities but no hot tub. Lobby resturant is open until 930 however bar stays open until 2. They also have prepackaged meals available for purchase at the bar with some great options (wraps, salads, flatbreads etc) plus microwave and toaster oven available for use. Beds are extremely comfortable, rooms have all of the essentials and are extremely clean. Certainly my preferred airport hotel to stay at!

The minimalistic decoration of the rooms is a luxury by itself. We also use it as our "lounge" when having to wait for our flight. Recently the hotel restaurant has started to serve full meals, the salmon dish I had was phenomenal!

Got stuck her when the 2020 Mega Snow Storm Hit NL, rooms were clean, bed were comfy though a bit soft for my taste and the bar/resturant was great.

This was my first stay at this hotel, so I didn't know what to expect, but overall it was great. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. I like how they are eco-friendly with the bathroom supplies, as the soap, shampoo and conditioner are in refillable squirt bottles instead of single use containers.

The design of the room is kind of strange. The room I stayed in has a dark, secluded hallway that just seems like a waste of space. I feel like this could have been used as a sitting area, extra closet space or just been part of the overall room. Another strange feature is that there's a half-frosted window in the shower that leads into the bedroom, beside the bed. It leaves little to the imagination.

Overall though, it's a great hotel and I will stay here again.

The good:
Having a hotel just steps from the airport is so amazing.
No more shuttle buses!
Great beds.
Quiet.

The bad:
The rooms are looking a little shabby. Stained carpets, dinged up wood accents, paint that needs refreshing.
Just one pod of "regular" (caffeinated, non-flavored) coffee is not enough.

We will still stay at the Alt, but a little attention to detail would make the experience even better.

This art deco style hotel is great in a pinch. Comfortable, convenient, and not too expensive.
There isn't room service but you can order from the lobby level cafe and restaurant and then take it to your room.

The room I had didn't have a bathtub. The standup shower was good, and the soaps were soft and clean.

My biggest upset was the tv, which was a throwback to cable, without a guide to find out what's playing. Commercials took up more of the screen time than anything. I definitely don't miss those days.

Still, I would recommend if in a pinch.

Perfect place to park and stay before/after a flight without having to fuss about with hotel shuttles. You park in the daily rate airport lot, keep your ticket with you and then they validate it right before you leave. Small yet very stylish, well designed and comfortable rooms. I will definitely stay again if I have a very early departure or late night arrival and need to park at the airport.

Clean, efficient with very helpful staff. Great range of dining pre-security and good post. Smoothest customs and immigration I have dealt with well staff for volume of travelers.

My first time at this hotel. Check in was very smooth. We had a rental car. Drove into their garage grabbed a cart and rolled right into hotel lobby. Only a shower in this room in case that's an issue.
