Went for an evening party boat and looking to have a good time only to show up and board the boat and they do not accept cash as payment. Card only.

No where does it say this when booking or on the confirmation email. Very disappointing

Did the Harbour Hopper tour today. So much fun! Our tour operator was awesome. Very knowledgeable of area. And comical. Our tour captain was great too. Jimmy Buffett fan who sang to us before we started tour and then sang to us as we finished our tour. Awesome day all around. Great work guys!

We were on a ship excursion put on by Ambassatours Halifax that went to Peggy's Cove & the Titanic Cemetery. Genevieve was our guide, and she had lots of knowledge. HOWEVER, we were on a double-decker bus and she didn't have a microphone for the cemetery portion, so only a handful of people could hear her at a time and she kept saying she'd repeat but she didn't or gave the first group all the info and the second group got the 2 sentence version. We think if you're going to have double the people, you need 2 guides or a headset microphone so everyone can hear. It was fine on the bus, just when we were off the bus that was the issue.

Good experience overall. Best to take a the tour on your first day in the city. You learn the history and various points of attraction on the tour which goes through downtown Halifax after which you take a cruise by the boardwalk.

We did the George's Island tour today, it's been on my bucket list for 40 years. It was a great tour, worth every penny for anyone. We didn't see any snakes, contrary to rumors we heard.

This was a fun way to see the sights on chilly day! Our tour guide and captain were fantastic!

We bought the flex ticket for the ferry ride to Georges Island and the admission to the island.

The ferry ride was smooth and didn't take long. Took a few minutes to get to the island. We sat on the upper level of the ferry. Windy yes, but nice, unfiltered views. On the way back, we tried to sit on the first level of the ferry. But it was shaking way too much and had a bad smell. So, we moved back up to the second floor of the ferry, where it had no problems.

Well, if you don't mind the wind, sit on the second level of the ferry. Luckily for us, we never had to use the lifejackets. Hopefully when you ride the ferry, you never need to use it too.

We did the Sivla sail boat excursion - it was so fun, what a great experience! Highly recommend for someone who's looking to get out on the water:)

Did a fall colours cruise and it was way better than anticipated. Live music. Bar on board and twinkly lights.

Lana, our tour guide, was fantastic! She was a fountain of information regarding Halifax, Peggy's Cove, and the Titanic Cemetary. She turned a good tour into a great one.

I had tickets booked for the floating beer garden but unfortunately tested positive for Covid. I tried calling Ambassatours many times throughout the day to try and get a refund, but their phone lines said all operators were busy and sent me to voicemail. I left multiple voice mails explaining my situation and tagged them as urgent through their system. I never got a call back or reply. Tried reaching out through multiple social medias as well and no reply. I can understand if they can't give me a refund, but having zero way to contact the company to explain my situation was extremely frustrating.

They lied about accommodating food allergies; nearly killed my girlfriend on a dinner cruise.

Before booking our trip, I called and confirmed that my girlfriend's food allergies could be accommodated. I checked with the telephone operator, checked with staff, and when we were seated, confirmed again. When I booked, I included the specific allergies and that they were all anaphylactic in the notes section.

2/3 of her courses contained ingredients that would've triggered an anaphylactic response. When we notified staff that the (anaphylactic) allergy to dairy applied to the feta cheese on her salad, they apologized and gave her a new one - with the feta cheese buried in the middle rather than on the top.

When we brought this back to them *again*, they apologized and informed us that the main course was specially made. Feeling apprehensive from the salad, she tried a tiny portion and reacted immediately to it. Had she not been so cautious, she would've entered anaphylactic shock on the Halifax harbour.

Apologizing a third time, staff informed us of the agony they went through to acquire her third course, as it was specially ordered just for her.

It was blueberries and strawberries in a mason jar. $112 for some berries and a near-death experience.

They have ignored my emails and I cannot respond to their reply here. I don't care if you 'typically' accommodate food allergies; that's not what you said before I booked. Stop falsely advertising before you get someone killed.

Nice enough ships and decent viewing tours around the harbour, but do not expect decent customer service.

Boats will be swapped out from tall sailing ships, to the harbour queen to their smallest ferry-like ship without notice or reason. Nor will anyone reply to your emails about such changes.

There is no consistency in their tours. One may be fun and informative while your next exact same booking will have you sitting for 12+ minutes in still water with terrible speakers crackling out rock tunes in your ears. (Their speakers are AWFUL on every vessel.)

Not really worth the $$$ but you don't have too many options.

Sneaking a drink onto the transit ferry and going back and forth to Alderny, Halifax and Woodside stations on your transfer while self-educating yourself on local history is almost as good as most of what they offer.

Harbour Hopper is a fun ride. Lots of info on the broken speakers, but the best overall deal this company offers.

I booked a tour to Peggy's cove through the website. The bus was comfortable and clean. The guide was perfect, he was talking and joking during the way. And the tour was very interesting with stunning views.

Cancelled. We were visiting for 2 nights and booked our dinner cruise to celebrate a special occasion to find out the day before that it was cancelled due to low ridership. Totally unfair that booking months in advance does nothin and left us scrambling for dinner plans.

Excellent tour; tour guide Karl was friendly, knowledgeable, spoke clearly and had a great sense of humour. Plan a tour with Karl!

I had absolutely astounding customer service from the Ambassador team! They answered all of my questions promptly, were very pleasant to speak with, and accommodated health requirements of our tour group. Truly they created such a wonderful experience and I plan on booking tours with them in the future.

We went on the Fall Colours Cruise and absolutely loved it! Nice booths inside with a sheltered lookout deck above to enjoy the ~2 hours ride. The cruise was calming with lovely views of the colourful trees, as promised, and the huge lake houses along the water. Even on a cloudy and rainy day, there were beautiful sights to see. Great menu too - we opted for pizzas and apple cider hot toddy. A highlight was the live music performer who created the perfect ambience throughout the cruise.

I made a dinner tour and it was amazing, food and music were great. A very relax environment yet charming. The only thing missing was hot beverages, the temperature was a bit cold and a coffee or tea would have been great.

Had a great time on the sunset cruise! We totally enjoyed the experience! The staff were amazing and very accommodating! Would definitely do this again!

Yesterday, 6 people in my family decided to book "Deep Sea Fishing" with Ambassatours from Murphy's Wharf. We paid $325 dollars for the tour. Let's just say it was an aweful experience. When you think of deep sea fishing, you think of large rods with bait on the ends anchored at the ends of the boat, fishing for shark, tuna, Marlins etc.what this trip really was boating out into the harbour in 80 feet of water fishing for mackerel. We were packed on the boat (14) people, and each person given a rod with 3 mackerel jigs and a weight on the end of the line. The lines were tangled up constantly with other people fishing, and only a few people caught small mackerel, none of which were large enough to keep. I could have had better luck at Boutliers Point on the wharf or right off the pier in Halifax to catch mackerel, and save myself the $325 dollars. Do not book this tour! Waste of time and money. Mad at myself for getting hosed for so much money️

I would recommend the Gray Line to anyone. Top notch customer service. My trip was informed by the wonderful and funny Ed, our tour guide. He had a comprehensive knowledge of the city, and the surrounding areas. There was not a spare moment that I wasn't learning something new about Halifax and its surrounding towns. It was about an hour to and from Peggy's Cove and we got to spend a little over an hour there. I'd also like to personally thank Jessica. If not for her, I would not have made it to the tour bus on time. She was kind and friendly, and went above and beyond her duties to help a customer. Thank you!

“Hop off” at your risk. Greedy outfit. Over-books buses. Waits way longer than advertised a few if any seats available on the buses that come. Avoid this cruise ship ripoff.

Hi There! I'm coming into my 5th season as a Cruise Coordinator, and I have to say that I Love My Job! Ambassatours is a place that you feel like a member of a large family, not an employee! Looking forward to another fabulous season on the Pier!

I feel fortunate EVERY day that I get to spend my time working here. The culture is extremely positive, and I have witnessed many instances of the owners supporting their teams.

There is way to much favoritism. Certain drivers work all the time with better units to drive and others take what is left. Pay little per hour and no benefits and will not pay any overtime so would rather have you not work for weeks to months until your year resets. Do not value drivers with experience and absolutely no seniority.
Office staff comes up with ridiculous policies for drivers to follow, like get a customer off the bus and give them a vest to go behind the bus and direct you while backing up. Very few times would there ever be someone onboard qualified enough to do so not to mention the possibility of that person hurt. IF THE DRIVER HAS A CLASS 2 OR BETTER LICENSE HE SHOULD NOT NEED SOMEONE UNQUALIFIED TO DIRECT HIM OR HER!
Only have a number of recent model buses and offer drivers higher pay to drive buses that alot of drivers refuse to drive because they are not fit to be on the road.
No rewards for years of service for instance one very important employee that played a key role in the company was given a ONE hour party for close to 20 years service (IN THE MECHANICS WORK BAY) for fellow workers to attend and have a hot dog. (So CHEAP) for such years of service.
They have signs on buses and on the building saying hiring, not because of growth, it is because majority of drivers don't like the way they are treated and do not stay because of poor management.
To make Ambassatours Great again" DRAIN THE SWAMP" starting with the COO, Logistics and charter managers as they are doing a poor job!
Would not recommend this company in any aspect to work for or to charter a bus from!
