Amherst Home Hardware

Went in today and I was instantly welcomed into the store with happy faces! I asked for a donation for a fundraiser I’m helping out with, and it wasn’t a problem! They gave me the donation I asked for which was a HUGE help. It was greatly appreciated Home Hardware! Definitely a good store to go to!

Used the tool rental side of the store. They are very nice, easy to deal with and made some good suggestions.

I looked all over Amherst for a bulb, MR11,12v 10w, for the fiberoptic tree and all I could find was MR16. I live half an hour away so called my husband and he said go to Home Hardware, they'll have it. Sure enough they had 2 packs so I bought both. They always have what I'm looking for. We wanted a solar light for our pets grave, was out of season, Home Hardware was the only store that went into storage and gave us one. Good people there, good service. Have of things others don't.

This is one of the best hardware stores in Amherst. There are several hardware stores in Amherst but compared to the others Home Hardware shops leading the sector in every way. The staff and the service is wonderful. Particularly this is the only hardware store in the downtown that you may buy most of your hardware needs. I recommend it for anyone. You must meet Alonzo, the paint manager who would tell you everything about anything whatever you ask. Visit and see the difference

Went to the rental store of this home hardware, great employees Frank was very helpful and knowledgeable on the products he rents.

No service until a fella named Elliott came downstairs and was condescending. Not recommended. Kent was 10/10 with staff happy to help.

Excellent staff who will help you find whatever you are looking for. I've been buying paint from here for 20 years. Quality and pricing is bang on.

Nice big store. Friendly staff. Someone helped answer our questions right away. But they didn't have what we came for.an item in the flyer. Said it was back ordered and was supposed to be in first week of December. Which didn't help us any

Really helpful staff. I came in grabbing some things I needed for a class I was teaching and they led me right to what I needed. I was in and out so fast with their help.

I can't say the service was bad because there was none. I prefer to support the smaller businesses and Home Hardware normally has very good service compared to it's major competitor. I stopped at the store on Spring street, which is quite a small store, to buy a hose for my portable barbecue. As I walked in, I noticed there were three employees and no other customers. None of the employees acknowledged me or offered assistance even after I walked the same isles several times. I finally found what I was looking for and deliberately stood there for a few minutes to see if someone would show up. No one did so at that point I decided I couldn't support a business like that and left. I think as I left the cashier said goodbye or something to that effect but didn't ask if I found what I was looking. I'm sure paperwork and inventory is important to running a store but without customers, it probably wouldn't matter at all.

Been served well here for decades. The staff wants to help. It is amazing what is on offer for such a small space.

Terrible service. I will never shop here again. I walked here to buy some things for my new dog. I was unable to find the tie outs for a yard in the pet section so I was the shown the chains and connectors in a different section. As I was trying to decide how much chain I needed, I asked the woman serving me if I could use the washroom. She said the washrooms were not for “public use”.

I was confused and hurt. I was here about to drop some $$$ for my new dog and this woman was not going to let me use her washroom so I could continue shopping? I walked out of the store and told her that not letting a customer use the washroom was nothing short of inhumaine.

There are many other places to buy pet supplies in Amherst. I suggest you shop anywhere else but here. Your $$$, but not your needs, are important to this business.

Shame on you downtown Homehardware.

Best customer service of any hardware store in Amherst. If they carried lumber.they would get all of my business.
