Antigonish Evergreen Inn

Our review is a bit overdue. We stayed here in September 2023! We could not have been happier with our room-loved everything about it! The view was beautiful. So many welcoming touches in the room. We truly felt welcomed. LOVED all of the houseplants! Thank you to their daughter. ;)
Breakfast was delicious! Blueberry Scones, eggs, everything one could want. LOVED IT!
Linda and Rick were fantastic hosts!
If were to ever visit Nova Scotia again.this would be a destination!
PS And a packet of flower seeds from their beautiful garden!

Really great stay, Christie was so helpfull and really did the ''extra mile'' to makle our stay nice. Reception, breakfast, room, everythnig was top. Many thanks, Nicole et Mario.

Clean, quiet and comfortable. Vastly superior to the 'chain hotels' along the highway. It is a gem and we're glad we discovered it. Delicious complimentary breakfast. Hope to return some day.

Quiet location, but a short drive to downtown and the University. Large and fully stocked rooms with great light, and even a laundromat on the premises. Friendly and helpful owners on site. Highly recommended.

A+ Great place, well sized, great service, clean, reasonably priced, very good location. Air conditioning and heat worked well when needed. Spacious shower as well

My family and I had rooms here last week while in Antigonish when my father was ill and subsequently passed.

The rooms are gorgeous, with full kitchenette and lovely bathroom with plush robes!
Very comfy beds and pillows.
The complimentary continental+ breakfast is the icing on the cake!

This was one of the most comfortable places I have ever stayed in and so peaceful. I have been telling everyone, that if they need to stay in Antigonish, this is the place to stay. Very clean! Went to return the key in the morning and the smell of fresh baked goods was mouth watering. Loved it!

We are a family of four, with two "tween" kids. This simple little place had the nicest rooms we stayed at on our whole trip all around NB and NS. Lovely decor, VERY clean, the owners have so thoughtfully provided everything for their guests needs and comfort, including a laundromat. And the fresh-baked goodies in the morning are wonderful! Just an all-around beautiful experience staying here. Oh and go to the Brownstone Restaurant while you are in Antigonish, also one of our favourites!

The inn was clean and well maintained, check in was super easy, and the location was very convenient with parking spaces easily accessible near the rooms. The rooms were well equipped with robes, slippers, toiletries and kitchenware. There were very helpful instructions left for guests, and notes letting us know that the hosts would help us get anything we forgot. Breakfast was served in the lobby area and it was excellent with good coffee, freshly made blueberry scones (which were made by the owner every morning), fruit, cereals, yogurts and fresh oatmeal. The owners were simply lovely-friendly, helpful and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again and I recommend it highly!

A wonderful place to stay in Antigonish- family run inn/motel with a very homey touch. A comfortable room with lots of extra touches - slippers, robes, umbrellas, & a full kitchen. We were only here for one night but would love to stay longer next time. Breakfast was amazing with porridge, homemade scones & eggs. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Evergreen Inn exceeded our expectations in every way. We’ve stayed at places in many other countries and this place had so many details that really make it a cut above other lodgings. I can’t think of ANYTHING that could have been added to our room to make it any more complete than it was already! There was even a long-style shoe-horn, an umbrella, wine glasses, slippers and white robes, make-up remover, etc, etc. The breakfast porridge and fresh baking were out of this world. Linda & Richard are lovely people… so friendly and helpful. You really DO feel like you arrive as guests and leave as friends! We would highly recommend this place to anyone!
We wish we hadn’t left our welcome card and seeds there… what a sweet addition to our arrival!
However, we hope the beer we left in the fridge found it’s way to Rick’s table!

Evergreen Inn was a clean and cozy place to stay. The room was comfortable and the breakfast choices were amazing with many homemade and natural selections to choose from. Staff was very friendly. The cookies to go was the topper (and they were delicious too!). I highly recommend the Evergreen Inn.

Wow! Simplement wow! Arrêté pour une nuit sur notre tour de la Nouvelle-Écosse, nous sommes tombés sous le charme. C'est un motel et un Bed&Breakfast en même temps! Tellement tranquille, hôtesse charmante - et elle parle français - petit déjeuner différent, mais complet et inclus. Tant de petits détails dans la chambre spacieuse et lumineuse. Si vous arrêtez à Antigonish, c'est ici que vous devez passer la nuit!

As in most places of this type, its the special people that bring fond memories and Christy, our host, excelled at this.

We can’t recommend this charming place enough. It’s a 50s era motel that’s been completely modernized and turned into a boutique inn with all the amenities. If there’s a room available here, I don’t know why you’d stay at a cookie cutter hotel. This place is welcoming, comfortable, and SPOTLESS. We’ll be back!

I was promised a bottle of wine and full breakfast. Got two old stale tea bun/banana buns and instant sugary oatmeal in a pf to just add water. To warm heat thermostat fixed unable to put air conditioning on or reduce heat. Lucky there was a window but not the safe option. A ground level hotel.

What a cozy, friendly and amazing place to stay! We stopped by this cute little inn with my friends just for a night but we really enjoyed our stay! Thank you for everything:) Rooms were very clean and very cozy, with a fireplace, comfortable bed and nice view. Bathroom was big and included sweet details like bathrobes and slippers. Breakfast was also included - we had delish scones, banana bread and very nice talk with the owner by a cup of coffee like old friends. We highly recommend this place, I wish we had time to stay for more nights! Thank you again, hope to see you guys again some day and we wish you all the best with your cute inn!:)

Wonderful place to get away. Lovely place. Rooms were clean and the breakfast was filling. I would recommend this place to friends and family. Overall, I had no complaints.

Great little family owned inn. Loved all the amenities included in the room. They didn't leave anything out. Nice continental breakfast with hot porridge and all the toppings you can think of.

I'd highly recommend staying at the Antigonish Evergreen Inn if you are visiting the Antigonish area. The owners are extremely hospitable and kind individuals. Linda prepares fresh, homemade breakfast every morning in the lobby that includes some delicious homemade baked goods. The rooms are clean, spacious, and very nice - not like the usual motels I'm used to in Ontario. Overall, an excellent experience and I'd definitely go back when visiting the area!

The best thing about this plaace were the operators. I really cant put into words how friendly snd welcoming they were in bringing me into that corner of Nova Scotia.
I was in town 2 nights for a wedding and I was VAERY happy with the size and cleanliness of the room, and the outfitting of the unit.i will definitley be staying there if I pass through Thanks a million!

It was an exceptional little motel. Everything was super clean, but with so many little extras in the room such as fireplace, robes, slippers, displays with the tea towels and toilet paper. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was also amazing, best scones I have eaten in years! Oatmeal bar and fruit also, such a nice change from other motels/hotels. Cozy, quaint, homey, I would highly recommend this motel. ️

On the outside it looks like a very basic, cheap motel, but they do a great job with the place. The suite is very, very clean and well furnished with bathrobes, etc. We slept very well because the beds are very comfortable. Breakfast was also quite good (Hot oatmeal, scones, good coffee, etc.)

The room was very comfortable! Above average bedding, nice view out the main window, and a large bathroom. The breakfast in the morning was delicious; particularly the oatmeal bar with tons of options. Lovely hosts!

Room was tidy but NOT clean. Pee on the toilet and toothpaste splatter on the taps. Cobwebs floating around. They lie about breakfast aswell. There is no breakfast.

We stayed here during our anniversary trip to the East Coast. It was a last minute booking - they were able to accommodate us at 11pm! The room was cozy and full of wonderful details (like an umbrella behind the door and comfy slippers). Rick and Linda were great fun! They sent us on our way personally in the morning with good food, great conversation and a bottle of blueberry wine to enjoy for our anniversary celebration. Thanks for a great stay! I thoroughly recommend the Antigonish Evergreen Inn to anyone looking for a pleasant personal stay in Nova Scotia!

Very nice! We stayed here one night after completing the Cabot Trail, before going to Halifax airport. Marley at the front desk was very helpful, friendly, check-in was nice and easy. The room, number one, it’s very nice, super clean, has everything we needed. Room is large with kitchenette. There is free parking, very close to the room. Free Wi-Fi that works very well. The bathroom is large, super clean, And also had everything that we needed.

Wonderful stay! 5 stars. This was a last minute booking, we did not intend on staying in Antigonish but it turned out to be the highlight of our day. Linda and Rick are fantastic owners and truly made us feel like we were at home. The rooms and property are immaculate. We had one of the best sleeps in a long time. So quiet and comfortable. If you are in the area and need lodging, this is your place.

We had the best stay in our entire 10 days in Nova Scotia. The Inn is quite new, very comfortable, clean and quiet. The innkeepers, Rick & Linda, make a splendid breakfast of porridge with all the trimmings, home made blueberry scones plus bagels, cereal, and plenty of fresh coffee. We plan to stay here next time we're in the area.

Where to begin. The lady at the Front Desk was so pleasant and helpful. She gave us information on where to eat (and it was great) and overall made us feel welcome. The building was well maintained and each room provided 2 bathrobes as well as slippers (flip flops but that's OK). The room was very clean and the bed was most comfortable. We had a problem operating the TV and front desk came in to help us out. Breakfast consisted of oatmeal, cereal and fresh baked goods with home made spreads. The owners extended their warmest hospitality.

We had a medical appointment that required we spend the night in Antigonish. We decided to check out The Evergreen. It was spotless, fresh, and very comfortable! Linda and Ron were wonderful.hosts. They thought of everything as far as amenities go. Lynda made the best porridge that we dressed up with berries, coconut, nuts, etc. Her scones will melt in your mouth. I highly recommend this little gem next time you are looking for a room to rent in Antigonish. They have a reduced rate for medical appointments or funerals in the area.

Stayed there for a extended stay while working there. I found the owners a little rude. They would take off with no one looking after the place even though we were still staying there. Had to call and complain for someone to come clean the room and bring towels

We did not stay here but this place is getting five stars anyway. I was planned to photograph a wedding and my laptop was damaged. I contacted Amazon and ordered a new laptop, but they could not deliver to the address I was staying at. I called this Inn in desperation and asked if they would accept my laptop. "Of course" they said and I was back in business. This is old school good business. We looked over this beautiful Inn and it was grand, we were offered fresh muffins and coffee. So I can only ask that you give them a nod when looking for a place to stay in Antigonish.
