Beautiful location and building.
I have only gone for our annual staff Christmas party, so my experience is limited. The staff have always been friendly and accommodating. The buffet was amazing.

OMG I am in love with this place. From the moment I got out of the car it called to me. The room was spacious and clean. The bed comfy. And it was dark in our room when the lights went out! Such a good sleep listening to the waves lap the shore.
The view was spectacular! And then the sunset came.
I felt at home.
Breakfast was awesome and huge. I’m sure glad hubby was there to help.
Want an amazing place to stay? The Argyler Lodge is calling.

We had an amazing summer wedding here and would definitely recommend it! The venue was beautiful and rooms were super nice and comfy. The food was enjoyable, definitely recommend the late night poutine! It was quite the hit! The staff are all very kind and we had great communication. They even let us bring our own tea to turn the drinks our wedding colour! We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather and got the most lovely sunset photos. Details about the venue: they can accommodate a max of 90 people so great for small or medium weddings! The food is good and they are very accommodating of any dietary restrictions. They have a basement with a dancefloor that can support a dj and has a bar. 100% would recommend to anyone looking for an amazing oceanside wedding venue.

We had a lovely buffet dinner with family who gathered there from many parts of the world. Food was very good, reasonably priced and service was excellent

I moved to Argyle last year 2022 on June 30th. As I am a foodie, I water to try the restaurant before I came here, but didn’t have a chance until last night.
The place has wonderful hosts and a short menu: which I liked.
The food was good, but not exquisite
Great food, fresh, but too salty. French fries were bad and extremely salty as well.
The best part was the absolutely heavenly dessert. Never have I thought a touch of rose water and rhubarb would make a simple broiled vanilla custard so delectable. I ate in very fancy restaurants all my life. This custard is a 5 star point to the chef. The chef should also worry about the salt he adds to food: it would be better if the French fries would be thicker and with barely a dust of salt. Even the Caesar salad was too salty

Sometimes you find gems hidden in plain sight.this is the case with the Argyler Lodge and Restaurant. Beautiful setting Beautiful service, Fantastic food.

The shorts: If you haven't been there yet.go worth the detour, worth the drive, worth going on purpose for the food.come for the food, stay for the view.

The long: (secret at the end) if you are looking for a weekend getaway, just going for a drive or even for a romantic outing.this is the spot.it's away enough to be quiet but not so far off the beaten path you need a compass to find it.now what is it that makes that place special, would it be the view of the bay? The fantastic sunset, the quaint Inn.well yes that is part of it.but that's the easy part.the real secret is in the restaurant.and wow! Not only is the food tasty and flavorful but also that's where all the art is.

It is. AUTHENTIC.meaning that it tastes like it should be: picked from the garden a few minutes before being served on your plate.or just fresh from the ocean not far away.everyone is always trying to re invent the wheel here finally is something real.real food served by people who care about not only the food but the overall experience.here you can have crunchy and tasty fishcakes, scrumptious desert.but above most do yourself a favor and ask for

the "creamed lobster"!

This dish alone is worth the trip, it's a proper Nova Scotia delight.it is only match in quality by the service we had from our server who was so genuine and welcoming.it was a perfect dinning experience.not too often I would say drive from Halifax 3hrs to get a dish.but this one is really worth it!

We had a fantastic time! Our ferry out to Bar Harbor was cancelled and we had to stay an extra day, I've never been happier to be 'stuck' somewhere. Relaxing, beautiful, excellent food, family run, everything top quality. We hope to return!

Chef Jonathon provided us with world class meals prepared with garden herbs and authentic Nova Scotia taste; while Alana’s attention to detail made our stay perfectly relaxing. Combined with the breath-taking views of water, islands, and sunsets made this the most incredible place we have ever stayed.

Emplacement exceptionnel.

This stay was an absolute highlight of our trip. Not only is the food incredible and well worth the drive but the view and ambiance of the Argyler are straight out of a dream. The sunsets are unparalleled and it is so peaceful sitting out on the porch watching time pass. The fog rolled in at the end of sunset, completely blanketed the neighboring islands. We will definitely be back!

Lovely clean place to stay. Nice property. Nothing to do in the vicinity though.

Had the buffet, good mussels but they were not warm enough for my taste but thats probably because of the buffet set up, and I had really looked forward to the advertised lobster mac and cheese but I did not find much lobster in it.

Staff were friendly. The room had a great view. A few suggestions to take it to a 5 star- Nicer bedding, comforter, would create an upgrade, Getting rid of the homely cot, and buying black out curtains as the light that comes in the window is beautiful but not at sunbreak. The towel rack should be hung on the opposite wall and not hanging over the toilet because it’s harder to reach and as well if anything drops, it can drop into the toilet, the shampoo and conditioner should be placed in a spot that’s easier to see as it took me quite some time to find them on top of that towel shelf, and this may seem strange but the wooden toilet seat is too small and not ergonomically functional for all parts of the anatomy so you might want to try to replace the toilet seat as I’m sure it’s more hygienic that way too.

There was something plugged in behind the AC machine that made a whole lot of noise all night, perhaps the HEPA filter and maybe its only new since Covid but it woke me up a lot during the night and was really loud so I would advise taking it out if you don’t need it. I would’ve told the owners this but no one asked me how my stay was which I thought was unusual.

Overall however I thought it was a very nice spot but I wouldn’t want to stay more than one night there.

Excellent food and service! Had eaten at the restaurant pre-COVID and have been doing take out since then. I’m never disappointed or hungry after!
