I came in with my friends to check out the museum, my friends have been here before but I had not been, we were greeted right away and had a good chat, with details about the museum layout, exhibits and the location of services in the building, and offered personalized information for the visit.
The museum surprised me with just how many awesome displays they crammed into this space, I unfortunately neglected to take many photos, so you'll have to visit for yourself, it's worth it.
Along with the cool historical displays, this museum is also home to a large hobby/model shop, something I never delved into growing up, but they had low prices so I had a nice talk with the gentleman running the model shop, and eventually was tempted to try it out and picked up some cool plane models to build, along with advice from the workers for assembly.

Great museum with very passionate and knowledgeable staff, and a cool hobby shop incorporated. I will be visiting again soon.

It’s free to visit here but they do recommend you to donate $8 per person for the museum’s maintenance and renovations. It’s wonderful to pick one of delicate air-model to master your patience at home. There are tons of air-models for sale with both no tax and 10% off due to non-profits institution. In addition, the museum only open to the public on Saturday. Don’t hurry to buy model on weekdays!

Lots of Canadian aviation history and knowledgeable staff. Great way to spend a couple of hours for the cost of a voluntary donation

A wonderful place to learn history with nice staff, the gift shop had amazing models for display, playing and some display ones to build. The staff told us what everything was and told us about the flight simulator that they are making and let us check it out while construction halted during covid. Experience was amazing!

Excellent small aviation museum that is crammed with interesting aircraft and exhibits. Plenty of context too explaining flight, the history of the exhibits and their impacts. Well worth the visit.

A great little collection of Canada's aviation history. The aircraft are beautifully restored and maintained. Admission is by donation and the staff are very friendly. The store offers a huge selection of model kits. Highly recommended.

A little disappointing to arrive and notice that it’s closed. Hours of operation said it was open and when calling, it also says it was open. A lot of excitement was built on looking at the planes turned into disappointment.

Fascinating museum!
Great collection of different aircrafts and engines. Each aircraft has an informative description, many interesting stories related to them. Specs are provided for the engines, which was cool to learn. Learned more about aviation than ever before.
The interactive maps and the scaled airport models with LEDs are very innovative!
Lots of real artifacts from the aviation history, as well as a great amount of real historical events with pictures and interesting facts! Many events from WWII are described as well.
The giftshop is awesome - full of plane models, assemble kits, T-shirts, and more.
Knowledgeable and nice guides.
Thought of spending only an hour there, but stayed for 3 hours, and left very impressed!
Great and unique place that immerses fully you into the history of aviation. This museum is absolutely worth putting on the top attraction list.

It’s near the airport and although not well-advertised, this hidden gem was worth the visit. There were several cool aircraft important in Canada’s history. As well, our museum guide was knowledgeable and answered a lot of questions for us.

Nice place to go when you wait for flight or just drive by, as it has quite a collection and few visitors there.
Learn that Halifax airport took most diverted flights in 911 terror attack. I always thought it was Newfoundland airport but.
Bought 3 plane models to support the museum: they have a big collection or inventory of plane models, either for display or for assembly.

Awesome museum, lots of places and helicopters, and tons of info about Canada's aviation history. The gift shop has hundreds of model kits too.

Visited on our way home through YHZ. Easy to find as it’s just across the hwy from YHZ. Well worth a visit to see many different aspects of Canadian and Atlantic aviation history.

Amongst many displays, they also have a Sabre “Golden Hawk”, a PBY and oh, yeah - a freakin’ German V1 Buzzbomb from WW2. Have never seen one before and most likely will never see another. Would love to have had a photo riding it like Slim Pickens.

Anyhow, like any small museum, they need your support so spend a few bucks, a few hours and explore this great place!

Lots of great Canadian aviation history stuffed into a very small space. Very much worth a voluntary donation!

Nice little museum. Admission by donation. A huge amount of model aircraft kits for sale. Plan for about 45 minutes there unless you are a huge aircraft buff, then plan for a few hours.

Went to this place when I was a kid and it was nice to bring my son to see it. Place has not changed much over the years but very nice to see the assortment of planes. Best part was seeing the tire off a space shuttle.

Great spot to kill some time before flight leaves. Tons of cool planes, aviation history and the gift shop has some awesome models and such for any aviation enthusiast. Admission is by donation as its run by volunteers, but $8 a person is what's suggested.

Lots of planes to look at and read about. A few planes for kids to get into and look around. Entrance is free but donations are encouraged.

The museum is run by volunteers and takes dontlations for entry. Staff were super friendly. The sheer number of planes, engines, parts, weapon systems, models, and memorabilia is staggering. You could probably spend an entire 8 hour day there, spend the entire time in awe, and not see everything they have to offer. Absolutely fantastic.

Attended the Family Fun Day yesterday and was impressed by this little gem tucked away in the trees. Well done!
05 July 2019 6:17
Great and surprising place. Entry and guide tour are free. The staff are knowledgeable. The most surprising part is how many aircrafts they were able to fit in this small building. This place is a most.

If you like airplanes: There's lots of history of military, civilian aviation, airlines, Coast Guard helicopters, in detail. Actual airplanes, models, with lots of explained details everywhere. Even historical information about the Halifax airport, including its involvement with 9 Eleven. Plan on spending an hour or two. Completely run by volunteers, entrance by donation. They deserve a good one. Only negative - lack of space, planned are tightly packed in. They need at least three times the space. (¯`·. _. ·Nscave·. _. ·´¯)
