Had the most delicious turnovers I’ve ever tried. Both the blueberry and apple were wonderful.

Most delicious donut and blueberry muffin! So many other meat pies and sweets, breads as well!

Stopped by Aucoin Bakery with my wife last week on our trip to Cape Breton. We went early around 8am on a Thursday morning so there was no line up. Got ourselves 4 items: a blueberry scone, a blueberry and apple turnover and a sugar donut.

Ate the sugar donut shortly in the day. It was fluffy and moist. It had a light texture and was not doughy at all. We liked this 3rd of the 4 items. It was pretty good still.

The blueberry scone.delish. If you like scones, try this. It doesn't crumble at the first bite like most scones usually would (only slightly) and it was fluffy and not dried out. Not to mention this was about the size of my fist so its a good amount. We didn't eat it until the next day and reheated it in the air fryer and it was still good. We liked this the most of the 4 items.

We both liked the blueberry turnover also as it wasn't too sweet and the pastry was still crisp even though we didn't eat it until around 3pm that day at the airport. This was ranked number 2 for us.

The apple turnover was almost like an apple pie texture and if you like chunks of melted apple, then this is for you. We liked it overall but it's slightly on the sweeter side. Pastry was also crisp when we ate it at 3pm. Ranked 4th overall.

Sorry we forgot to take pictures. Looks the same as the other turnovers and scones people have posted.

Overall experience, give it a try and if you like scones.buy a few more lol

Nous avons adoré l’endroit. Les scones aux bleuets, les roulés à la cannelle, les chaussons aux pommes, les beignes à l’ancienne, les tea biscuits et les muffins au son, sont top bons! On s’est arrêté à l’aller ET au retour!

Felt the cashier throwing some subtle racism …the white people in front of us were spoken to really well but her behaviour/attitude took a 180 degree turn the moment I said ‘hello’…it’s a shame cos my wife and I were very polite!

Unfortunately the gingerbread I bought turned out to burnt molasses bread. Tasted awful and was thrown out. Otherwise we were pleased with the brownies, butter tarts and coconut bars.

Great bakery with a lot of zartes and muffins. The Sandwiches were good but could have something more special with spices.

I visited the bakery in 2019 and I'll be back in 2024. The best bakery I've EVER been to. Loosen your belts folks cuz you'll definately over spend.

Not what I was expecting for a quick breakfast before our bike ride. Coffee was burned. Sandwich was pre-packaged and room temperature. Seemed like an afterthought. This bakery seems more geared toward sugary confections and treats (all of which looked and smelled amazing).

Great bakery! Delicious pastries, and in a good position to grab some sandwiches before driving through Cape Breton Highlands NP.

If I ever find myself back in Cheticamp, I'll be back for some treats.:)

Best cheese croissant and apple fritter I’ve ever had. Ice coffee was also one of the best you can get on the Cabot trail. They also had a wide selection of cold sandwiches and other baked goods which also looked very tasty and fresh. Will definitely stop in again on our next Cabot trail adventure.

Delicious cheesecake, cookies and croissants. I am sure everything else would be delicious too. These items are what we purchased.

The worst bakery experience I’ve ever had. Everything wrapped in plastic. Everything was way to sweet, the bagels were way too store-bought and dry. There is absolutely no reason for a queue that long, please go to Europe and eat good food.

Love this local bakery. Glad I stopped by on my trip for a snack. The cheese croissant was 5 star! I also loved the blueberry danish! The cranberry and chocolate chip cookie was soft.

Family owned, beautiful establishment with some of the best baked goods I’ve had my whole life. I ordered an array of baked goods like the jam jams, pies, croissant, turnovers and cupcake. Everything was exceptional. I couldn’t stop. Highlight was for sure the jam jam, and the cheese croissant. But everything was worth a try. Don’t miss this spot. The only thing I found ok was the cupcake. Don’t miss this spot!

Tasty food. No gluten free options, and that’s okay! Everyone in the car is happy. Easy and fast take out. Good coffee.

I'm from Toronto and have had a lot of good cupcakes in the past. The Aucoin Bakery red velvet cupcake is literally THE BEST I have ever had. So soft, melt-in-your mouth, and simplicity at its greatest. We went back the next day for more cupcakes and also picked up some cheese croissants, coffee, and muffins. Muffins were great and the cheese croissants were loaded with cheese. If I had to recommend one thing from my Cape Breton trip, it would probably be this!

Yes please. I bought a loaf of pumpernickel bread and had a fight with myself to not finish it all in one sitting. I also got some everything bagels. Line out the door but for good reason.

Cette boulangerie mériterait 6️! Les beignes et pâtisseries sont DÉLICIEUSES! Et pas chères! Nous sommes vraiment déçus d’avoir découvert cet endroit la journée de notre départ.

Simply unbelievable. This is so awesome. Magnificent products, try the Scones! Skyline Trail and Aucoin Bakery are the Must-see-highlights of Cape Breton Island.
