Great sites, beautiful park, the shower room was clean and well maintained, the water was hot and the pressure great! Even the wifi was great!

The only drawback was that the out houses near our site were in real need of emptying or some kind of freshening up!

The best provincial park in Cape Breton.
Campsites are nice with lots of privacy and washrooms are modern and kept very clean. Just wish they had more electric sites.

One of my favourite Provincial Campground experiences! In NS I loved the layout of the park and the gorgeous view from our tent site! The washrooms were so clean and the lady working in the office was so friendly! Highly recommend!

Absolutely the best park around. Great value, spacious private sites. Firewood bundles are large and priced well. Staff is super friendly and helpful and the park is super clean and well maintained. The (comfort station) bathrooms are kept very clean and even the vault toilets (outhouses) are kept well maintained. The ocean view from most sites is impeded by tree growth but the ocean is right there and easily accessible by many trails that crisscross the park. Dogs (on leash) are allowed and the well maintained trail system gives dog owners a natural environment to walk. Trails were wet in spots with the.recent rainfall. Insect population was very minimal. Overall a 5 star park. A must visit for Cape Breton.
Beautiful view from the lighthouse

Some beautiful sites. The upper portion had the comfort station and showers. Rained most of the time so didn't get to explore too much. Few minutes to grocery store (a bit pricey) and gas as well as a pharmacy and a Tim's!

Camped at this park for 2 nights. We were at site 3. It was AMAZING! Had an excellent view of the ocean, nice sheltered area for the tent. Only two things to consider if you pick this site: not a lot of shade during the day so bring something to sit under, and there were quite a bit of nippy ants, so wear socks!

The park itself is absolutely gorgeous. The beach area is calm and clean. There is a rocky beach closer to the campsites that is really lovely to walk along. The entire park is well maintained, with the cleanest outhouses I've ever seen. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and kind. Will definitely return!

Beautiful spot with a nice little beach! We took a boat through the canal which was a fun experience!

Lovely flower gardens and the Lighthouse is great. Seem to be plenty of picnic places but could use more tables in shady areas. The sun was hot and no shady sights available. Otherwise this is a lovely park.

This place is beautiful. We spent 5 days here. Our site was a semi view of the water. Lot 44, Private site.close to bathroom.
Close to town. Fishing right there at beach. Staff amazing.

Super vu sur le lac Brador. Très profite les gens sont super gentil. Beau sentiers de marche et à St. Peter un bon petit snack de poissons.

The staff was fantastic and really made us feel welcome! The park had many tent sites available and he suggested site 42 as having a lovely view, but warned us of the gravelled incline as we were on motorcycles.

The site was grassed over and generous enough for us to pitch our two backpacking tents comfortably.

Drainage may be an issue for site 42 as they had taken pains to elevate a flat spot and provide a wee drainage ditch around it, so I would be mindful of that while pitching the tent.

Caroline thought the showers were clean as did I.

Beautiful place for camping or just walking, fascinating view, canoe and kayak renting, 5 minutes driving from St Peter.

Great campground, reservations over phone +$9 was unnecessary but I guess it covers losses from pandemic. Beautiful place and great showers

The park is really beautiful. Great trails but short (for beginners hiking).
My campsite (#32) had an ocean view, amazing place.
My only concern it is about the washrooms. Only two showers and two toilet for all park. In the afternoon it's a problem, because everybody wants take a shower in this time.

The staff are very friendly. I will be back in the future.

Very nice, well maintained campground with nice views over the water from several sites. Friendly staff who know how to do their jobs. There is only 1 shower building with not enough shower stalls for the size of the campground. Showers are free. Campground has a nice variety of open and partially treed sites, with a few walk-in sites. Serviced sites are water, power. Campsites are mostly located on a hill but are good size. Several hiking trails to explore, nice day use area with a small pebble beach and picnic tables. Also a cute working lighthouse near the office. Campground is close to the St. Peter’s canal which is interesting, also the town of St. Peter’s with numerous stores, eateries and gift shops. Firewood bundles are $5 (2021) and are dry wood which burns good.

Beautiful campground. Excellent service. The gentlemen were Sweet and helped with anything they could. The view alone was amazing. Can't wait to go back again.

Awesome place. Camp sites are good size. Peaceful. Lots of easy and quick trails to walk or bike. Fun at the canal, watching boats go through the locks.

Lives up to provincial standards. Ground well kept, lots of trails, washroom are clean, awesome scenic views. If I were to say anything negative it would have to be security, there is none due to covid they say; however Graves Island has it. You just go directly to your booked site and hope it's clear. We found people picnicing on what they thought was a vacant site, not so pleasing when when I pulled in and had to wait 40 minutes to them to clear after a 6 hour drive. Other than that, had a great time.

One of our favourite camping spots during the peak of the Perseid meteor shower. Weather permitting!

Petit parc, super tranquille. Propre, infrastructures minimales (toilette, douche). Pour escale d'une nuit.

I agree with other reviewers that the staff here is really great. Friendly and accommodating. The park itself is beautiful and in one of the most picturesque places in Nova Scotia. Facilities are good as well, it includes the lighthouse and picnic grounds. One of the most fascinating features for me is the geological significance for this site.

Battery Provincial Park Provides a scenic place to set up your tent or camper and enjoy the serenity of St. Peters, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Steeped in a rich history, it sits adjacent to a the St. Peter's Canal where boats over time have ventured from the Bras d'Ors lakes into the open ocean. An old lighthouse guards the entrance to a campground that is sure to bring peace for any weary traveler looking for fresh air. You'll be sure to be greeted by a friendly face to help you settle in for your stay.

A gem of a Provincial Park. Most campsites have an outstanding view of the bay leading to the Atlantic. The locks to the Bras D'or lakes are equally impressive for the mariner or engineer.

Stopped to have a picnic lunch. Very clean. Two men were fishing mackerel off the bridge across the canel. I have never seen so many fish being pulled out as I did there. The line went in the water.seconds later it had a fish. I lost count. It was amazing! Beautiful scenery. Exactly what you expect in Cape Breton

It's been awhile since I've been to this park. But the night we arrived (late) we drove up into the park and set up the tent, at the assigned campsite, using the car headlights. We crashed hard from a long day of travelling. I was awake at dawn to hit the jakes. As the sun came up I was dazzled by the jaw dropping beauty of this park. My puny words can never encompass what I saw that morning so long ago. I merely state I have never seen anything to top it in any other park. Battery Provincial park.you should go.

Battery provincial park is a very beautiful park.most camp sites are up hill so it can be and get really chilly at night.washrooms are clean, view around the park are adjacent to the ocean. Excellent customer Service all park rangers are extreamly friendly! Overall great place to camp!

This is my favorite provincial park in NS. However, I need to mention that the new bathroom unit is clean but not functional. The shower left my girlfriend with glacial water when it's 10c outside, this is not cool and it's a necessity to put amenities with such basic need! When we visited this park 4 years ago, the issue was still there! So I can't recommend this park for cold weather stays.
22 October 2019 15:32
Very nice campground! This was our second time at this provincial park, and as always everyone was warm and welcoming. Toilets and showers were clean, however, no hot water when I showered. In summer, having no hot water is not great, but not so bad. We were camping there in September, and outdoor temperatures were already low, so that cold shower was very uncomfortable. Maybe double check with park staff that there is hot water before showering to avoid the discomfort I had.

This is a very rustic campground
In serviced sites for the most part but the amenities are good. The shower house is amazing! Most of the lots we have seen see private and spacious.
14 October 2019 2:06
Beautiful place, great staff, really great. Stayed at site #14 walked to 4 different water fountains and they were all plugged off? Kept following park map for water but none. This is one of the reasons we picked this site, not very convenient. Thks

Absolutely loved it here. Camped for only one night and it wasn't near enough time to see every part of this beautiful park. Staff is amazing. Prices are average for a Provincial park in Nova Scotia. Pet friendly, kid friendly and beautiful scenery.
05 October 2019 3:30
Views of St Peter's harbour are spectacular, Northern Ganets diving for fish a regular occurance and the stars at night perfect. Campsites many have views of water and a number of sites have water and electricity.
02 October 2019 9:56
The is the best camping place ever. Absolutely amazing staff, amazing site, all around an unreal experience. But most importantly amazing staff.
26 September 2019 10:33
Had best time staff friendly comfort station was amazingly clean. Our view from our site of the harbour was amazing

Awesome place for everyone. Kayaks and canoes are available for use in the Canal. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly.

Nous avions le terrain 24. Intimité et belle vue. Il y a plusieurs arbres. Toilettes très propres, douche chaude et avec beaucoup de pression. Rien de négatif à dire.
29 October 2018 16:40
Beautiful site, staff are very friendly. Site #1, #2, and #3 are our favourites although the only downside is there seems to be a pretty bad infestation of fire ants around these sites but they didn't seems to bother us too much. This site has trails to enjoy, access to the beach and a small lighthouse. Washrooms and showers were clean and the site in general was well maintained. Good size bundles of firewood. We spent 3 nights at site #1 and really enjoyed this park. Site #3 has an amazing view. Would stay here again.
28 October 2018 13:47
Excellent welcoming helpful staff. Very well kept clean washrooms and showers. Wish there were more sites with electricity.
