Great atmosphere and friendly staff.special thanks to Kriti, Rahul and the Chef. I made a special request about not including ghee or butter in my food and I was wholly satisfied with the way my request was handled. I had Naan, Lamb and Cauliflower and the food was awesome. I would definitely go there again.thank you to the whole team!

Very poor service.
Went there twice thinking the second time it would be good but it was more terrible than the first time.

The service was too late. Took them forever to deliver the water even. Can’t say more about food.
Even the staff knew that it’s gonna be extremely late.

I would like to suggest everyone (if visiting this place after reading this review) to place their order at least an hour before visiting.
If possible place your order on phone.

We been here first time. In group of 3 The food was good the price was very very high and quantity very low. If u guys charging tht much please give good quantity. We just ordered, classic chicken and tangadi kabab and 2 cocktails they chargerd 67+ taxes and i gave 7tip we ended in 84$. We

So I’ve been to Besharam at least 4 times since they’ve opened. They’re a fairly new restaurant who are trying their best to amp up the Indian restaurant scene here in Halifax. They’re probably the only ones with Live Hindi/Bollywood Song Performances. They are trying their utmost to improvise their service, ambiance and food on a daily basis.

The servers have always been pleasant, attentive to details and friendly.

The last time I was there I had Tawa Biryani which was very delicious and my friend ordered the Tulsi Chicken Tikka which was quite delicious too.

The drinks were amazing!

Update - May 1st 2023 -Visited again for a friend's birthday, updating the rating to 5 stars as the service, food and experience was great this time around.
The new menu has interesting items on it and everything I tasted was great. (Especially Delhi Style Murgh Makhani)
The complimentary Shahi Tukda for the birthday was a nice touch and much appreciated.

Old Review - Food was good but the service was not great, after giving the order in a relatively empty restaurant, 45 minutes later we were asked that it was last call in the kitchen and we hadn't even received our food yet. We had to ask again after another 10 minutes went by only to realize the order hadn't gone through. (Something that should have been realized by the restaurant staff when asking us for last call.)

Once the food did arrive eventually, it was good. But I have experienced this delay several times at both their restaurants (Adda and Besharam) - hope this feedback is taken positively to improve the process.

Have been here several times. Now a favorite place of mine. I have not been dissatisfied with any dish I've tried or any of their signature cocktails. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Very friendly people and great warm atmosphere. Looking forward to their patio opening

We were delighted to finally find an Indian restaurant in Halifax where they serve vegetarian biryani which tasted absolutely delicious. One should definitely visit this place if you like Indian food with the right tinge of spices which aren't too hot.

Nice restaurant and bar theme in downtown at a prime location. We will be looking forward to visit again to try more cuisines.

Awesome spot! Just stopped in for a quick beer and ended up getting sucked into the delicious chicken 69 appetizer for happy hour. SOO GOOD! Friendly staff, great food, excellent atmosphere. If you're looking for a cool rooftop-ish spot with great Indian food and lovely drinks, definitely check this place out. Pretty close to lots of good spots as well - prime real estate!

I ordered from Uber Eats and genuinely enjoyed the Gobi Manchurian (Cauliflower fried with spices). This is the closest thing you'll find to authentic street food from the best cities in India. You'll feel right at home with this dish.

I ordered the veggie appetizer platter for 4 which was $50 and now I know why it says “chef’s choice”. The veggie platter I received was half a pack of paneer, which was cut up, cold, and barely seasoned, two potatoe Pattie’s cut into fours and onion pakoras. 50% of the plate was pakoras. This isn’t enough for 4 people and was extremely disappointing when it was brought out. I was expecting more out of the appetizers, and more of a variety. I highly recommend not choosing this as an option when eating there. Other things at this restaurant are good, but the veggie platter is a huge fail.

Went for burger bash, and the chicken burger was delicious! Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. The staff are so nice and welcoming

My experience was super nice! I’ve never experienced Indian cuisine and my first time was excellent. The wait staff was polite and the food was super tasty I would definitely eat here again.

Cooperative staff and pretty good food. Good place to hangout with friends. Very innovative with appetizers.

As long as the food taste goes, I would give a 4 star, 5 even for some dishes. But its nothing you haven’t tasted elsewhere. I feel that the restaurant is overhyped with no real vibe. It was a slow Saturday night when we went, lot many empty tables, but service was too slow. I mean they weren’t rude, but wasn’t worth commending too. Many other places in Hfx gives excellent Indian options in less price; to compare, I could get the same stuff I ordered from Mirchi tandoor for half the price. They don’t even have pitchers. Good thing is kingfisher beer they have, which reminds you of India. Location is also prime. Nothing awesome, just a normal Indian restaurant like any other place, but expensive. Price doesn’t guarantee value in this case. So much so that we just stopped at one beer and had to hit another one for drinks. Didn’t find the Karaoke too, may be its only on some days. Wouldn’t recommend this, quality is same as other Indian ones in Halifax.

We ordered Manchow soup, Panner Tikka, Butter Naan and Dal makhani it was a great experience being at the Bar as it is a mix of Bar and restaurant vibe. Quantity and quality of food is also nice. Do visit this place:)
