Beyond Pho Halifax

Amazing food, nothing more to say other than, try it yourself. You won't be disappointed.

I just want to ask you to please stop using gross meat with your meals. Your meals have potential, but the chicken that is served with the bun is greasy, skinny dark meat scraps and bun also should not be served with a full, uncut pork chop on top. It totally turns me off from eating with you because I have no idea what I'm eating. Please use nice, fresh chicken breast and fresh cut up pork moving forward you will see more success.

This is definitely my fav place to have pad thai! I tried their laksa noodle soup today and it was so good. It has strong coconut flavour and it’s not too spicy. However, you can ask for thai chili on the side if you love spicy.

Highly recommended their hong kong milk tea! Definitely the best hk milk I’ve ever tried.

The food is portioned awfully. I got more bean sprouts than anything else, and they were mixed in with my food, which no other place does. They also have no taste or flavour, awful food. Go elsewhere

Very mixed opinions on this place. Can't seem to give it the 3.5 I want to so I'll have to go with a 4 (3 is too low).

One of the best laksa flavours I've had outside of Singapore and really took me back to the hawker centres. Amazing coffee flan.

Main downside/negative to my food was honestly the meat. Some pieces were great and others were tough, noodles were also a little bit overcooked despite being separated for delivery. Portions were average for the price. I will however have enough broth to cook up some of my own noodles tomorrow for a makeshift lunch.

Great place to get variety of pho, restaurant is clean, staff was attentive. Delicious Pho and milk tea. Price is very reasonable for having a location on spring garden. Would recommend

We went there to try pho but they had no vegetarian options for pho, which was a bummer. So I would definitely recommend to add vegetarian options for pho.
We ordered the shrimp salad for starter and shrimp pad thai and the vegetarian pad thai for the main. The portions were good and the taste was great.
For drinks we got the passionfruit and the mangosteen juice which were very refreshing and tasty!
The staff were friendly and the vibe was pleasant! Overall highly recommended. We would definitely come back again if they add more vegetarian options for pho and spring rolls!

Came here 30 minutes before they closed. Im so glad they still accepted and warmly welcomed us. The beef pho, spring rolls and seafood tomato noodles that we ordered were superb! This is our first time to eat here and I can say that we will definitely come back and try all the other foods in their menu.

I ordered the curry with tofu and asked for it to be spicy. I was a little bit disappointed because it was lacking in flavour. It wasn’t bad, just not really anything to write home about.

That said, this place is known for its pho not its curry so take this review with a grain of salt.

I ordered the house special pho as I do for any new pho restaurant I'm trying. The broth seemed to be pretty good and the portions of toppings were decent. I do think it's a little expensive though in comparison to other decent pho I've been to.

Other than that, service was cool; they had a robot trolley your food to your table. The restaurant vibe was very new and fancy. I actually quite like the interior.

Overall a good choice for pho but not my first choice.

Les plats sont très copieux et délicieux, par contre certains sont assez épicés. Le dessert mangue riz gluant est presque aussi bon que ce j’ai pu goûter en Thaïlande et tout est très joliment présenté.

This is a nice atmosphere pho restaurant. The both writers and writress here are kind and polite. I really like the ice avocado smoothie here. It was a good dining experience today.

We ordered special beef pho soup noodles and pork chop, egg with rice. Both tasted yummy and delicious. Love the robot service! Friendly workers there too. Will be back for more other soup noodles. Prices are affordable if you compare to other pho restaurants. Relaxing and spacious restaurant. Highly recommend!

Surprise surprise, a robo-server in a Vietnamese restaurant! At first I thought it’s just a gimmick, but then the full bowls of rare beef and house special pho weighed so heavy and made me understand the benefits of the robot. The rice noodle was impressive with its texture - not too soft as most pho restaurants. We ordered their sticky rice dessert too. The mango wasn’t in the best season I have to say, just average for that maybe.

Good Pho, also loved the spicy lemongrass soup. Beef is very fatty but good. I will be back.

Not a good lunch spot. Though they open the doors at noon, this is also what time they start their prep so no food is served for nearly an hour after opening. We waited 45 mins and gave up because they said the pho was still not ready.

Great Vietnamese food but some soups can be bland! I recommend the lemongrass soup for best flavors! One time the server gave me wrong information about the soup so I received a bland soup when she mentioned it was going to taste closer to the lemongrass one. Great portion and good ingredients though

Cute little place centrally located on Spring Garden road in Halifax. They are open until 10: 00 which is nice to have a place that's open a little later in the evening. The pho broth was delicious.
A little gimmicky but I guess it's the way the world's going - the servers were helped by these cute little robot servers that helped shuttled the food to the tables.
Clean, tasty, reasonably priced. Recommended!

We had a really bad experience here.service was slow because of the weird robot server and our food went to the wrong table.the soup base was good but too many noodles that were over cooked with not enough meat for value compared to other pho places.the mango sticky rice came with 3 gummy bears on it which was weird?

I went here by recommendation of my neighbour who said this new place has the best pho in Halifax. I love pho so I went there ASAP.

Upon sitting down their robot server brought water— it’s a gimmicky thing that kids like but doesn’t really affect the service you receive since wait staff need to place it on table for you. Also, the decor is very pretty!

We ordered the house special pho: I’d say meat was good quality, but the soup itself was a bit bland and not seasoned well enough with the aromatics. Additional pho noodle was $2 and it came with more soup which was great.

Also had salad rolls: The sauce for the salad rolls tasted very sweet — seemed like it was mostly peanut butter and sugar with a tiny bit of fish sauce — it wasn’t good. Also my roll consisted of shrimp and Romain lettuce— it was a really weak attempt at a salad roll.

We also had the vermicelli with beef and spring roll: The vermicelli didn’t have enough sauce, we asked for more and they were great and brought out more. The beef slices were large and not cut well so they were stuck together and you had to have an ungracefully large bite of beef. The spring roll was tasty but not cut apart so you couldn’t really share it.

And their calamari was really… bad. It came with ketchup so it basically tasted like fishy onion rings. It seemed like some generic frozen calamari you get in bulk. I used the extra vermicelli sauce which made it taste a whole lot better.

Their hot Vietnamese coffee was great! The cold one was the same as the hot except you get cold coconut milk— it made the drink a bit too weak for my liking.

Also had the mango coconut sticky rice— would have been great if the rice was fully cooked— mine could have used an extra 5 minutes in the steamer. The mango on top was perfectly ripe and cut beautifully, presentation was great.

Overall: If I had to come back I’d get the vermicelli bowl (make sure to ask for extra sauce), spring rolls and hot Vietnamese coffee but maybe go elsewhere for pho, salad rolls and coconut sticky rice. I wouldn’t say this place was very authentic or affordable. Waitstaff were very friendly but not very attentive

The ambiance is great. Food was good too. We ordered the shrimp mango salad, chicken noodle soup and tofu veg curry and rice. The shrimp mango salad was really good, I enjoyed how the 2 came together so well. The soup and curry were also great

A solid pho shop with a good atmosphere and convenient location. The staff were friendly and quick to help. One unique feature is the use of automated trollies (robots!) to deliver the food. Aside from the experience, the food itself was mediocre, the noodles overcooked and starting to get soggy and the rare beef, and beef brisket were quite fatty. The prices were decent for the portion size and it overall fulfilled my craving.

This is FAKE Vietnamese restaurant. Not everything is fresh. It comes in package just like Ojet sushi. None of the servers get tips from the customers. NOT RECOMMENDED!

Had a dinner birthday celebration with a bunch of friends and it was a great experience. We each ordered something different, and the staff knew what to do as soon as they knew we had a birthday guy in our midst. We got the House special pho, Pineapple seafood fried rice, Vegg curry, Grilled pork and rice, a variety of pad thais. They were reasonably priced, and were huge portions. I got the pho, and it came with a generous portion of meat and tendons, in a huge, football size bowl. I would go for the pho again, but maybe not the pad thai, because it paled in comparison to the bigger flavours on the table. Overall quite satisfied and it's a great dinner/lunch atmosphere.
